I don't visit Chermside Westfield very often as it's not my closest shopping supercentre, but when I do the one store I make sure I visit is this one.
Whenever I'm out Chermside way I will in fact make a detour for this store. For some reason the range and quality of products at Chermside's Diva store is above that of its other Brisbane counterparts. This review falls short of the five-star mark however because some of the jewellery costume is a little too clunky or cheap-looking for my liking. Then again, you're buying costume jewellery, and the clunky looks suits some but not me.
That doesn't mean I couldn't easily walk away with a shopping bag filled with gorgeous drop-earring jewellery if I was flush with money, but it's the hair accessories here that I love.
About six months ago I bought a very unique headband: though plastic, it looked like it was made of wood and it had leaves carved into it. It had a faintly Caesar-style look to it that passes as girly/hippy in my hair of almost the same colour. I've been wearing it to death and it's broken twice, and both times I glued it back together. (Thankfully the detail on the headband means you can't see the repair work. I also showed no mercy in terms of jamming the bits together in the gluing process.) Excessive work perhaps for a headband I bought for around $10, but I do love it and it draws comments.
There's also a lot of other detailed headbands (such as silk-covered headbands with fascinators attached) and again I find them to be of much better quality and wider in range than other Diva stores in Brisbane.
Next time I go back there, I'm buying a packet of those wooden-leaf headbands. OK, maybe two. read more
