Fudge brownie with hot caramel sauce

It seems this place is very popular because it was busy when we visited. I will never pass up gelato so it was worth the wait. The staff was nice and helpful in getting our order and although it was not a lot of options, they all looked delicious. I got the fudge brownie with hot caramel sauce and it must've been hot because it melted my gelato lol. Nonetheless the flavor was there and I loved the big chunks of brownie in the gelato. It was creamy, gave it a nice texture and balanced. I got the smallest size and I think it was the perfect amount. They have other delicious flavors. My bf got mint chip and they had big chunks of chocolate in it which gave it a nice crunch and chocolate flavor to the mint. It was perfect dessert to end our night.

Great flavors and super great gelato. The gal that helped us was super friendly and nice. The servings are generous scoops. The peach flavor was amazing with chunks of peaches! Yum

I tried their Tiramisu Gelato; it was good, but the texture was not like that of Gelato. It is located in the downtown area of Savannah along River Street. The shop itself is cute and great for pictures.

District Gelato is a very typical Plant Riverside District eatery. Over priced and over rated. I always expect any kind of "gelato" business to be priced higher than your average ice cream shop, but for me it's a treat and I love it so I don't mind spending $5.50 for a single scoop. However, I DO mind spending $12 for two single scoops when I did not enjoy it. I ordered the Cookie Dough flavor, and it was not until after I left and walked down River St that I noticed I received Cookies and Cream. The flavors were right next to each other, and both have "cookie" it in, so it's an easy and understandable mistake. Usually I like cookies and cream flavored things, however this was disgusting. I am not being dramatic, the flavor was truly terrible. The gelato part had no flavor, literally just tasted like ice and flavorless chocolate chunks. The "cream" part tasted like a cold, stale marshmallow. I forced my boyfriend to try it and he hated it as well. However, my boyfriend ordered the Snickerdoodle flavor and he loved it! I had a small bite and it was A LOT better than the Cookie and Cream. If you are an Oreo lover, the Cookies and Cream flavor is not even for you! The service was just fine. The girls working the counter were nice enough, but spoke very low and mumbled so I could barely understand what they were saying. I would not recommend District Gelato, and likely won't return.

Sub-par gelato down by the river with sub-par service. The workers seemed bored and were unhelpful. 2 of them didn't look up or stop gossiping amongst themselves when we walked in, so the third worker did everything. The gelato itself was underwhelming as well. It was fine. Hit the spot on a hot day but I was hoping for much better. I don't think I'd go back.

I love taking family and friends to the Plant Riverside District and stopping into District Gelato is always a favorite. It's super cute inside and everyone loves taking pictures outside of the gelato shop! My favorite flavor is red velvet. A great spot to take kids or for an after dinner date night treat!

This is a pretty good dessert place on River Street (right behind the Starbucks). My boyfriend and I stopped in to grab gelato. The prices were pretty high. It cost $7.50 for a double scoop and an additional $1.50 for a waffle cone. However, the portion size was pretty big. We shared and got the Irish coffee and the red velvet gelato with whipped cream. The gelato was pretty good. Nothing too special. It was less creamy and more stiff than I expected. However, it was good for a really hot day.

$8 for a double scoop that was about 3/4 of one. Terrible value, go to someplace that will give you a real scoop of ice cream.

The store is neatly organized although I believe there's over a million pieces of delightful candies here :) We ordered a few candies from the barrel and a pound of original pecan Praline. I'm not sure if it was a special or not but when you order a pound you get half a pound free. I had enough to share with my family now :) The lady behind the register was really nice to my granddaughter and myself. I saw a larger community table, lounge chairs, and bench seating with tables all around. Some seating outside as well. There is no view of the river from here. What I did not see were outlets, so not a great place to work for an extended time period. This location is great for locals since it is set back from the hustle and bustle of the historic district. There wasn't a line when I arrived so I didn't have a lot of time to read the menu. I didn't see any egg and cheese sandwich (no meat) options so I asked about it. They have them, but were sold out by the time I arrived. I opted for the 3 cheese egg bites instead and ordered an iced coffee with vanilla. They put your creamer and sugar in for you. After receiving the egg bites, I knew I needed more food and ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese toasted. The egg bites were exploding with flavor and the bagel was nothing special. I downloaded the app and asked the barista to scan my rewards barcode. She mentioned the app didn't always work and tried to look up my account with my phone number. That was not working either, so I wrote to customer service to get my loyalty points. They responded same day and the points were added to my account! I can't wait to come back and try the gelato!
