I've had to call in a few 911 things over the last few months and these guys were at my location in no time at all. This really makes me feel safe. I live in a 'up and coming' area, that means the prices are sky high but you could still get shived on your way home. We have had several community meetings with area police representatives and they have been very serious about enforcing public safety in my area. My favorite 911 one scenario was about a week ago when my wife was walking the dog and she walked right past a hooker (well, she certainly looked like one at least - could have been a tranny hooker - who knows - doesn't matter) doing umm indecent and very disgusting (and slurpy sounding) things to a rather overweight gentleman in a dark car with its stereo blaring in a parking spot next to our house. She got geeked, called the cops and they were there literally in about 3 minutes. I didnt peep my head out the door long enough to hear the explanation but i'm sure it was comedy gold. Avoid this police station, B-2 Roxbury, if you need actual public servants; their incompetence and laziness explain the high crime in Roxbury. When the local precinct went MIA regarding local drug distribution, I contacted the neighboring Roxbury Drug Unit. Instead of a detective, I got "Zion," an officer who bragged he was the best man for the job because he binge-watched the TV show Cops. During a 32-minute call, Zion dismissed my local insights and tried to manipulate me into doing all the work because he didn't want to do a proper stakeout. He also blamed me, saying I didn't give him any times the subject is most active, even though I said the subject's active during all hours of the day and night, not just at certain times. I also had to tell him his controlled-buy idea probably wouldn't work because the subject doesn't know him. Zion wanted me to act as an unprotected field asset, texting license plates to his personal cell phone while keeping our communication hidden from his own precinct to prevent "leaks." Sounded like he wanted to use me and then take all the credit in the end. He refused to provide his full name and bypassed official informant safety protocols. When I countered with a safer plan that put the stakeout grunt work back on the police, Zion insulted my intelligence and contradicted his own safety claims. He double-talked by saying he wanted to keep me safe and do all the work, but then immediately said he wanted me to spot plate numbers by myself. I don't know how he graduated from the academy, honestly. Something's seriously wrong when the officers themselves sound as sketchy as the criminals. Management was even worse. The front desk officer, "Almayda," gatekept the supervisors, claiming I didn't necessarily have the right to speak with a Sergeant. When I finally reached Lieutenant Hester, he defended the lack of identification, minimized a severe apartment-building safety issue as "annoying visitors," said tenants have the right to have visitors over, and gave the "too busy" excuse. He told me to just call 911, knowing they never arrive in time. The Roxbury station is a lazy, rude, off-the-books operation where leadership condones misconduct. I have bypassed this entire clown show and taken my evidence straight to the city-wide drug unit and OPAT. * Pros: None. * Cons: Unprofessional double-talk, lazy leadership, and a staff that substitutes reality TV and manipulation for by-the-books law enforcement.

I've been seeking help from said station because I live in a hostile apartment building, right across the street from them. Officer Wood has consistently been rude, visibly agitated by my mere presence every time, and hostile towards me. I am doing nothing wrong. Otherwise, he or one of his colleagues would have disciplined me, but that's never happened. He does not act this way with others. I've seen the difference in his behavior towards others with my own eyes. On Oct. 5th, 2026, when I called Officer Wood out on it, saying he's always irritated with me as soon as he sees my face, he denied it and said he's like this with everyone. Then, he yelled at me and cut me off when I began voicing my pent-up frustration that I had been holding in for 2 years. This moment of pent-up frustration was simply me looking away from the officer and saying that he's always visibly irritated as soon as he sees my face. Now, I was the one visibly irritated and fed up, and my voice was raised slightly, but I was not shouting aggressively. I did not swear or threaten him, and there was no line behind me, so I wasn't obstructing station flow. The station phone was not ringing either. Also, I looked away while venting to ensure I didn't look aggressive or menacing to the officer. I understand officers hold authority, including at the police station, but they are also ordered to be courteous to the public, according to their internal handbook. They shouldn't abuse their authority. Recently, I have been working with a detective at that station to target persistent drug activity in my apt. building. When I calmly asked Officer Wood what time it was and what the date was so that I could write a note for the detective, Wood yelled the answers at me in frustration. This happened on Oct. 5th, and it was the reason I finally called him out on his unprovoked hostility and rudeness. Again, he then gaslit me by saying he's like this with everyone. That right there is an admission from Officer Wood that he knows he's rude to the public and therefore is violating the department policy mandating courtesy to the public. I hate being treated with disrespect from a public servant for no reason, and the disrespect is egregious because I'm being a good citizen and aiding the police in cleaning up the area. That's the only reason I've been in regular contact with this station all this time- to improve the area because it's felt extremely unsafe up until this point. On Oct. 8th, 2026, I walked into the station, asked for Wood's name and Badge No., and again he scowled the answer at me, clearly trying to intimidate me. I said nothing and walked out. Then, I asked OPAT to enforce the courtesy-to-the-public police department policy on the District E-13 station. It's a standard internal rule, and it's very important in ensuring citizens don't feel intimidated when seeking help from the police. The police are here for OUR safety and benefit, after all. P.S. If any officer is upset because they think I leaked info and blew your cover by posting this review, you've had plenty of time to act, I've given you more than enough intel, and my patience has worn thin now. After all, I'm the one who has to live with the problem day-to-day. Better customer service from your station and less-frequent periods of being MIA would result in more patience from civilians. I couldn't bite my tongue any longer.

I called this office of the BPD to make a complaint about an electrician who has been harassing me…read moreafter I put a review on Yelp talking about him not performing the services I paid him for. The woman I spoke to on the phone said I would have to come in in person to do this. When I got there, there were two women sitting at the front desk, one younger one and one older one. I ended up speaking to the older one.  I explained that the electrician I wanted to register a complaint about has called and threatened me repeatedly, and has even come to my building and tried to get me to let him back into my home.  I also received a letter from his lawyer about the Yelp review. The woman at the desk told me that it was probably the electrician's wife who wrote the letter and I should just ignore it.   She also told me I was "just as bad as he was" because I had been updating my review every time he did something new. She told me that the police didn't handle this kind of thing, and that I should stop updating Yelp because the electrician " knows where I live." In her opinion, coming to my house, making repeated threatening phone calls, and impersonating a lawyer are nothing to bother the police about. This woman and whoever it was who told me to come down to the police station displayed quite a lack of concern. I realize that I did not have a violent crime committed against me in this instance, but it is concerning nonetheless, and I was not actually trying to get the police to do anything other than to allow me to put on record what this man has been doing to me. He may escalate his behavior or do something worse to another customer/victim. I didn't think that asking to put something on record was too much to ask, buy I got a very clear message today that it was.

Domestic Abuse : The Dorchester Police Officers don't care. That is what I have come away with…read morefeeling after seeing a recent series of events in Dorchester. An associate was given a court ordered Restraining Order (POP - 209a) to restrict their partner from contacting them. The subject of the domestic Protection Order has been violating the Order repeatedly, evidence has been obtained and shown to the PD (as required) and they have refused to administer or address these violations. They literally told the party they needed to return to the court to have the details clarified. So we went back to Dorchester Court and they (the administrative office staff) instructed us to return to the PD and the officers there at first refused to take the report to address the issue. When the complainants lawyer told them "NO" that they needed to follow the order, they finally agreed to take the complaint and the information that had been gathered. But this ONLY after calling for a supervisor, being told to wait for them to come to the front desk, would the desk officer accept the report and receive assurance the violator would be served and the issue addressed. This is ridiculous, and would be funny how inept and uncaring the Dorchester Police are, IF this had not been such a dangerous and potential violent circumstance where there is ongoing domestic abuse and a Restraining Order being violated on an on going basis. Who can you go to in Dorchester to actually follow through with enforcing a Judge's court order for domestic abuse??

When we were there, the theatre was showing "Jane Austen Wrecked My Life," a film in French with subtitles, and Lilly, based on the life of Lilly Ledbetter. The coming attractions were artful films as well. While not stadium seating, the seats were comfortable and the pitch of the theater offered good viewing. The staff are courteous and kind. Parking is easy on the street or in the nearby parking lots.
