Honestly, we were on the fence about hiring a videographer for our wedding and we are SO grateful we ended up hiring Vision & Love. We first met her at my friend's wedding where we got to see her in action! She is warm and friendly which makes her easy to talk to and open up about the kind of ideas or vision you would have in mind. She's a master at capturing silhouettes, which I think is a signature of her photography and a personal favorite of mine. She also welcomes the client's creativity and ideas and can really take them to the next level. From the moment we hired him, very early on in our planning process, he kept in touch and stayed in the loop on all the details for our wedding. We had several phone calls the weeks leading up to the big day to make get everything planned out ahead of time so he could make sure he got everything we needed. He was flexible with our time line and his wife, the photographer with Memories Through Time even came to shoot as a second videographer for our ceremony which provided so much extra great footage for our video. He arrived early, stayed late and even stayed through our portrait session just to get some extra footage for our video, at no extra charge. One thing that I really appreciated was his input on photo ideas and his ability to work so well with our photographers. Some of the shots he set up for our photographer are my favorites from the day. He really has an eye for art and knows how to capture a wedding and create a truly memorable video that we will enjoy for years to come. Plus, he delivered our videos in such great time. I seriously think we had everything from him within a month. He's amazing and I HIGHLY recommend him for any wedding.

When we first found Tiffany and Desert Hearts Photography, we were so excited! We loved her style…read moreand her work was to die for. She even said she was published in magazines! (And in our budget? WHAT?? Total score!) We thought we finally found our photographer for our wedding. From the get-go, Tiffany made it clear she was selective on who she chooses to work with. We understood and actually appreciated this characteristic of hers as vibes, styles and opinions should match to make everything work well. After a few emails back and forth, and following each other on Instagram, we put down the deposit, signed the contract and waited for the timeline which she said would be the next step. I sent an email to her a few days after putting the deposit down asking if we could hire a videographer since she did not offer it and to make sure it wouldn't violate the contract, as well as when to expect the timeline. From prior experience with photographers with poor communication, after 2 days without an answer, I sent a follow up email to make sure my messages were going through. I understand people in this industry get very busy on the weekends, so I included my phone number and said if that would be easier for her, she could reach me that way. I was expecting a reply of "hey sorry I was busy, here's the timeline.." or something along those lines. The response I got back took my breath away. Without any warning, she stated that she was just too busy to photograph our wedding almost an entire year away and had already processed a refund of our deposit. I was flabbergasted. I sent a reply asking if we had done something wrong to make her change her mind? She never sent an email stating any issues on our part, or replied to any of my questions. No reply at all actually as I write this 3 days after getting this horrible news. The bad taste that Tiffany and Desert Hearts Photography left in my mouth has not been washed away. No, she does not "owe" me an apology or an explanation, but simple communication would've taken her a long way; I probably would've still given her a nice review had she done any sort of follow up. This is the first time I'm having to hiring people for the best day of my life. I'm new to this, so to have this as my first experience in planning my wedding is extremely disappointing. I am now weary of every photographer I talk to, worried that they'll cancel without any sort of notice like Tiffany did. The only positive thing she did was refund our deposit that could go towards someone else now. Seeing as she has limited reviews across all social media, I hope this finds the future brides and grooms who are interested in her work and might have have bad experiences with other photographers, thinking she might be different. She is not different. Her work is great, yes. But her client care leaves you feeling like YOU did something wrong to HER when she is a vendor for YOUR big day. Two things I know for certain: my wedding will be photographed by an amazing photographer and Tiffany and Desert Hearts Photography will not be there.

Most aspects of the wedding will come and go (hopefully not the spouse!) but a video would allow to enjoy our day over and over again. After a bit of research, we decided to use Simply Cinema. They did a great job on the highlight film. I could watch that 10 minute clip over and over again . . . and I have. I would have liked a little more human/live interaction. In all of the exchanges there was only one phone call (I think, maybe, that may have been the first phone call I made to initiate service). There was a lot of communication via email and an online survey to capture what I wanted in my video. Very convenient, yet not much of a personal feel. I have never used a videographer before, so knowing how to answer the questions on the survey was a little difficult, it would have been helpful to have a live person to talk me through my options. For example, I was asked to select three songs to be on my highlight video. The three I picked were not available due to copyright, so they picked songs for me. The songs they picked are fine (again, I love the highlight video), however if I was given a list of 'approved' songs to pick from I might have been able to get songs that I wanted. The two videographers that filmed our wedding day were awesome, I really enjoyed having them there. Nice, funny, just kinda quietly hung out in the background, getting everything on tape, and stepping in to help or offer a suggestion when needed. Turns out there was a problem with one of the cameras and the wide shot during the wedding was blurry. Kind of a bummer when I was saying my vows. After notifying the owner we did end up getting the raw footage at no cost to make up for the blurry shot. That was nice. Overall, the work was good and the prices reasonable. A little to be desired with the communication, but if you know that going into it, you can be prepared for it and still get a good product without blowing the budget.
