As a former customer of this detailing company I must say that the owner is never on time and doesn't keep you informed on time or scheduling changes he does . The when jay shows up there is always something that happens or comes up to where he can't finish the job. Then the jobs he does is half ass . This company isn't reliable and the work ethic is poor . If your going to spend your hard earned money on your vehicle you expect it to look like it was done right . An number on times he has damaged my vehicle an didnt do anything to fixe it . There's something distinctly dirty at Distinctive Cleaning. On a recommendation, I called them for a final move-out cleaning of our home. The estimate given was based on very specific and clear details about what the cleaners would be dealing with in terms of rooms, as well as the fact that part of the time, they'd be working around our movers, given the cleaners' scheduled arrival time of between 11 and noon. I can't stress this enough--they knew that we'd have movers there and how big our home was. Well, moving day comes, and cleaner--that's right, I said cleaner, as in singular...as in one cleaner...to clean a whole house for moving out--cleaner shows up at *Ten* a.m. Generally, promptness is a virtue, but in this case, an hour earlier than planned upon is just not helpful. She sets to work, and seems unfazed by all the hubub going on around her. We'd asked for basic cleaning--dusting, vacuuming, wiping down surfaces; the only special thing we asked for was cleaning the fridge (btw--mopping the floor is extra). A few hours later, we left a friend in charge of overseeing the movers and the cleaner, left a hefty tip for the cleaner, and headed to our closings (the first of which--story for another day--made us a tad homocidal, but such is the stress of moving...I guess) During our second closing, we get a call from management at Distinctive Cleaning. She tells husband that they want more money (!) because it was a "bigger job than anticipated" and the cleaner had to "work around the movers." He tells them we're in the *middle* of our closing, and will call back. She pushily insists it gets taken care of then and there. Husband, sick of the whole day, talks her down a bit, says to apply the cleaner's tip, and we'd send the rest. What Manager didn't know is that she had two realtors and a closer listening to husband's side of the conversation, and all immediately asked, "Who was that, so we won't recommend them?" I purchased a 3-cleaning Groupon for Distinctive Cleaning a while back and after many tries, I have finally completed all three cleanings. They cancelled at the last minute on multiple occasions and once after I waited and waited for the cleaner, she just never showed up - no call or anything. I called the office and they said they has no idea where she was. I asked to have a different cleaner for next time and they assured me they would send a manager. So when the next cleaning rolled around, the same woman showed up. Her actually turning up was a plus, but I was a bit miffed that they didn't honor my request and didn't notify me that they weren't going to honor it. When the cleanings actually did happen, they were mostly fine, but not great. Since I paid so little for the Groupon and knew I wouldn't use them again, I didn't see the point in being critical. Rarely do you meet a company that is this disinterested in securing your business. I called and left a message a month ago to redeem a gift certificate my husband bought me. No return call. A week later, I call again and reach someone. Mention, my call was not returned. No apology. I schedule an appointment for a few weeks out. The woman on the phone says they will call first to confirm. No confirmation call comes. Day of appointment, no one shows up or calls. I call and reach someone and tell them I had an appointment but no one showed up. No apology (are you sensing a theme here?) Woman on the phone tells me that she has no record of my appointment, address, name...anything. (No apology for that, either.) I reschedule. I'll update this (if) when they show up and actually clean something. But so far, I am astounded by their utter lack of interest in cleaning, securing my business, anything really. UPDATE: The cleaner (a lovely woman named Patty) arrived today. She did a great job cleaning the house and was very nice to work with. I explained that I had had trouble booking the appointment and she said she was sorry to hear that and mentioned that things had been busy lately. She also tactfully inquired if I might be in the market for more regular service and suggested that I ask for her by name if I was pleased with her work. So based on my experience with Patty, I'm moving this from one star to three. Hopefully this company can ensure in the future that their level of administrative services matches that of their cleaning services. read more

THE WORST cleaning company EVER. They are rude. unprofessional and on top of that they lie like crazy. Also, if you buy a groupon, the earliest day they will schedule the cleaning for will be months later. The receptionist/scheduler, god knows who she was, was the rudest of them all. I think her name was DARLENE... My husband had taken the appointment and when i called back to give them our groupon code, she said "You are lying, because you were the one who called earlier and it was not your husband" this was all because my husband didn't have the group on info on him and so i called instead of him. WOW! I was shocked. Upon talking to one of their cleaning ladies, they said i was right and they talk to all their customers and cleaners like that. Please take my suggestion, do not give them anymore business. They need to be taught a lesson, they need to understand common decency. I NEVER review anything and not because things are not worthy of review. I'm lazy when it comes to doing things like this - it is usually not worth the effort to me - and there are those who enjoy doing it. But, I appreciate the commentary of others, which has prompted me to share. I just wish I had read others' reviews before engaging this company for their services. This has taken me close to two years to write. It was prompted by being erroneously charged some two years after the initial service I enlisted as a gift for my dad. I happened to be reviewing my credit card statement and noticed the charge by Distinctive Cleaning - mind you, two years or so after the service. I contacted Distinctive Cleaning, spoke with Bessie, and explained the issue. I was told to call back and that I could speak with whomever answered. No, certainly it wasn't incumbent upon them to contact me back - given it was their error and I was their customer and already performed my role in calling and bringing the error to their attention. Bessie told me they had received other calls of the same issue and said their had a software issue. But considering I wanted to be credited, I called back later only to receive their voice mail. I left a message and did not receive a call back - a week passed. I contacted them today. I was advised by Bessie that the woman who handles the accounting was out for the day, but that she would take care of it right now. She took my email in order to send me the confirmation. I also requested they delete my account number out of their allegedly "secure" system - her words.We'll see what happens with that credit and confirmation. About the initial service - POOR. It was a surprise gift for my dad (from several of his kids) who has a large house he does the upkeep on himself. I inquired into the service the day it was performed - he said the woman was nice, but did very poor work and completely failed to do what was promised with their service and what was paid for. Frankly, I should have done the job myself! I requested a refund - even a partial one - for their failure. My dad did not want to have to deal with the awkwardness of having someone come in - potentially vindictive - and re-clean the house. Well, that is the only option given - re-clean. And so I allowed it - because I certainly wasn't going to to pay for half-assed service and then not hold them accountable for actually performing the work. My dad said it it was done better. I probably showed up a week or two later - unimpressed. And so you can imagine, my utter disdain in having to deal with this company yet again. I got a great deal for a three-cleaning package on Crowd Cut, so I wasn't expecting much ... but they really disappointed me. When I called to schedule my cleanings, the earliest they could do my first one was more than a month out. Whatever, that was fine, so I scheduled all three at that time, each a few weeks apart. I didn't get a confirmation call for the first scheduled cleaning, so I didn't know what time they were going to show up. I was working from home all day, so it wasn't a big deal, but when 5 p.m. rolled around and I still hadn't heard anything, I called. "The cleaner called in sick - call back in February to reschedule" was the response (also, this was in DECEMBER). So when it was time for my second cleaning a few weeks later, and I didn't get a confirmation call, I called them in the morning to see what time my cleaner would be coming. The response: "She called in sick." After giving the "manager" a piece of my mind about what horrible service that was, she finally agreed to send someone out the NEXT week. I said no thanks, canceled my third cleaning and called Crowd Cut to get my money back. I really think this company thrives on using daily deal websites and not following through on the service. :( read more

Well, it only took 10 weeks for Distinctive Disappointment to be able to fit me into their schedule (e.g. only a limited number of "Crowd Cut" redemptions per day...okay, fair enough). A day before the scheduled appointment, DD called and said that due to an employee absence, I would need to reschedule sometime later the same week. So, I called DD, attempted to reschedule within the same week, and the person's response was "who said you could do that?" However, since I was rescheduled for the following week (for an arrival of between 9-10am), I accepted. I got a call the day before saying the scheduled arrival was changed to between 12:00pm-1:00pm. Well, it's now 1:58pm. No status call with an updated arrival time; once I finally got through to their business number, I was relegated to leaving a voicemail. I'll update this if/when anyone shows. At least I cleared my counters and desk areas for deep-cleaning prior to DD's scheduled arrival, so I guess I'll contact Crowd Cut, pursue a refund, and clean all of the freshly exposed areas myself. My sarcastic self can only hope - during "self-clean" mode - that it feels an awesome sense of accomplishment. At least I can let my two howling cats in from the garage sooner than planned...bonus for them, I guess. read more

I rarely write poor reviews, this is actually my first one. I'm compelled to in this situation because of the extremely poor service I received. If I could give less than one star I would. First off I didn't even receive a service and my credit card was charged. I used them once a few years ago and evidently they have my CC info on file because they took out over $100 from my bank. When I called to bring the matter to their attention they didn't seem the least bit concerned that they'd taken money out of my account erroneously, rather telling me the "person that handles accounts isn't in today". They suggested I email her. I had to call them back two days later after I hadn't heard back from the emails I sent. Then the receptionist (who two days earlier didn't "handle accounts") informed me she'd taken care of the refund (no one bothered to let me know). Except the money (3 days later) still isn't in my account. If you ever use their services (which I wouldn't recommend because the customer service is the worst I've see in a long time) DEFINITELY don't give them your CC info or two years later you'll be dealing with a mess like mine. I hired Distinctive Cleaning to clean an empty rental property. During the process they damaged personal property and rather than report it to me, covered it up. Once discovered I alerted the manager who indicated she would investigate and call me back. She never called and no one has returned my subsequent phone calls. I spent $350 to clean the house and another $150 to repair the damage. Do not hire this company to do any work for you! read more

I purchased a Groupon to use this service for 2 hours of cleaning services. The first time I called to schedule they told me they were booked out for 3 months and to try again in a few months. I tried back 3 month later and they said they were booked out for months. I called back again after another month and said my Groupon was going to expire and I needed to schedule something and they finally scheduled me. They told me they would call at the end of the day on Friday to confirm my Saturday appointment. I never got a call. Saturday morning I called to see when they would come and they said they weren't coming because one of their cleaners was out sick and didn't know why no one had called me to cancel but they would send someone the next week. So, the following week the cleaner did show up during the window of time they had given me. BUT, I did not get a full 2 hours of cleaning that I paid for. She left after an hour and ten minutes. I had her clean cobwebs from the basement ceiling and after inspecting found that she did not do a very thorough job. She also washed floors and did fine with that, but again was not terribly thorough - she mostly seemed in a hurry to get out of there. So, I'm not sure if it was something I didn't understand in scheduling, but I was surprised that she just left after only half of the time I purchased. I wish I could express how terrible this company is but words will never do my anger justice. I bought a groupon for this company and it has been the most frustrating experience ever. Every time I called they would tell me thy had no one available for thirty days and then they would not show up. When after five months I finally got someone to show they said they would only stay one hour and only one person! I paid for two people four hours. I have never used this company before. Apparently my fiance had 3 years ago before we combined bank accounts. I noticed that they charged our account $119.90 for no apparent reason. When I called they were unavailable to answer, but I was given an email address. I emailed my concern and was actually answered fairly quickly. However the answer was that a glitch in their system caused past customers to be charged again. Ridiculous. Why do you still have my account information on file?! And that excuse sounds pretty shady and suspicious to me. Sounds like they were hoping to make some change off of people who don't closely monitor their bank accounts. read more

My review is based on my experience with NOT using them. When their cleaners actually show up, they might do a fantastic job, but I'll never know.... I was very excited to use Distinctive Cleaners. I had a great conversation with Liz (who has since left the company) and learned a lot about what they did, and received 3 referrals. The one I heard from spoke very highly of the company's services. Their website and marketing materials are really kitchy and cute, and I was pretty sure I was going to be in good hands. I felt very comfortable scheduling an appointment. I spoke with another employee last week to schedule cleaning. I settled on 9am, which was the earliest time available. The same woman called me back the day before to confirm 9am. The morning of the scheduled cleaning, when no one showed at 9am, I called to make sure they were on their way and was told in one of the most "why are you bothering me" voices, "I told the cleaners to come between 9 and 9:30." I was pretty annoyed, but was assured they would "be there really soon" as they were close to our home. 25 minutes later, still no one had arrived, so I called to cancel. Again I was told "they'll be there any second." I didn't have time to wait any longer, and hardly believed that "any second" would come anytime soon since "really soon" apparently means more than 25 minutes. When I said I wanted to cancel the woman even suggested I "just leave a key for them" which I thought was ridiculous because they had never been to my home, and I don't know of anyone who would feel comfortable leaving a key for strangers. I purchased a Groupon for 3 cleanings. Today was to be the second of my 3 cleanings. They called yesterday to tell me the cleaners would arrive between 11:00 & 1:00 today (which is annoying because you don't know when they'll be there until the day before.) At 2:00, they still hadn't arrived and had not called me to say they'd be late. Called the office to ask if they were coming. She asked if the cleaners could come tomorrow (a Saturday) instead. Fine. Shortly after I hung up, I happened to check my bank account and during the few minutes I was on the bank site a charge to my account from Distinctive Cleaners suddenly popped up for an amount over $100.00! Since it was a Groupon, they shouldn't be charging me for anything. Furthermore, they shouldn't even have my account or debit card number! I called Groupon and they said they don't give the merchants any account or debit card information. So one of the cleaners must have stolen my banking information when they were cleaning my house! Another Yelp reviewer, Beth F., had an unauthorized charge to her bank account as well! This must be an Identity/Bank Acct Theft operation! I called the Cleaners and told them about the unauthorized charge and the woman interrupted me and rudely said "Hang on! I'm putting you on hold!" She told me that the woman who handles things had left for the day and they'd deal with it on Monday. I called my bank and they cancelled my debit card and now I will have to wait 7-10 days for my new debit card. I'll also have to contact the businesses with whom I've set up automatic withdrawals and give them the new debit card information. The bank asked me to call the Cleaners back and ask them what the charge was for and how did they get my credit card information? The office was closed and the recording stated that I'd called after hours and their normal hours were M-F, 9:00 - 5:00. I called at 3:30 pm today, a Friday. To add insult to injury, the amount they charged my bank account caused me to be overdrawn and I was charged an overdraft fee (which the bank will refund IF the claim I made is satisfied. Regarding the first time they cleaned for me, I wrote down the time they arrived because they were late (and no call to let me know). I was supposed to receive 2 hours of cleaning or 1 hour with two people. They said they were finished after being here for a half hour. When I told them that I'd written down the time they said that they'd arrived 1/2 hour before that time because, "I was talking on my cell phone when we drove up and I can check the time of that call." While they were cleaning the house, they were very loud, yelling to one another when they were in separate rooms, using bad language, and cackling about whomever they were trash-talking (either their bosses or other employees). They also had several conversations on their cell phone and played with my dog--while they were supposed to be cleaning! One more thing, they kept referring to me as "Hun". I cannot stand it when women 30 years younger than I act really chummy and call me "Hun". Advice to all you young ones out there: Never call a woman (or a man) who is older than you "Hun". read more

This is the WORST CLEANING EXPERIENCE and customer service we have experienced from a cleaning company. I have an entire list of things that were not completed with attention to detail, including, but not limited to: - Kitchen Sink not clean (I am not sure it was even attempted) - Most small kitchen appliances not wiped/dusted - Kitchen counters not even cleaned beneath canisters or canisters wiped - Bathroom tub and sink faucets not adequately cleaned, nor soap holder in tub (which only holds a razor - so not a mess but has staining that comes off when cleaned) - Some floors that were mopped are a smeared mess - Stairs only vacuumed with upright, leaving back and side crevices dirty - Many places were not dusted well - And my favorite.... The floor play mat in the child's bedroom was left totally untouched, as was under the bed. These are wood floors that only need a dust mop or a vacuum to easily fit under a bed -- the vacuum never even went to that level of the home. My home takes a good 4 hours to adequately clean it. I have often had 2 people at a time put in 2 hours together (still adding up to 4), and have had wonderful results. I am not that hard to please, but I know what things look like when they are clean. I am not talking about spotless, but CLEAN. We received 3 hours of cleaning and even paid a different price than quoted on the phone, (more than quoted). The price quoted plus tax didn't even add up to final cost. When calling to complain and ask for an adjustment, my husband was met with all kinds of excuses and an Assistant Manager who would rather interrupt and talk over a person than discuss the situation, and said an adjustment would not be made because everyone can just say it wasn't done well. Honestly, we have better things to do than try to recoup an hour's worth of cleaning cost if it was undeserved. The only option was to come back over and inspect the situation. Forget it, you had your chance in my home, and if this is the way they deal with clients, no thank you. Oh, and by the way, my husband tipped their employed VERY well for her time. She was lucky I was gone when she got ready to leave, because she would not have been leaving at that 3 hour mark, especially if I had been here to look around! Look elsewhere for a company that does great work, and has higher ethics than to basically accuse their customers of of trying to defraud them. My husband bought this service as a Mother's Day Gift, had I been involved I would have either used, Home Neat Home or The Cleaning Authority. Both of those companies have provided excellent service when we have used them. Too bad my husband did not know who best to call. *** Addendum to previous review. ***** Though I was Happy with how my new home was cleaned, I am unhappy with the fact that I called and booked them out again to have them clean my basement and laundry room. They were scheduled to come out and i waited for an hour to no avail. So I had to call them to find out what was going on, was put on hold for several minutes then someone else came on the line apologized and said to please hold again so they could find out what was going on. Proceeded to tell me that a bunch of people called in sick, so no one was coming!! Totally unprofessional to not call and let your client know there is a problem. I was then told they could come the next day, I had other workers coming to do things it needed to be done that day not the next day. I waited a few days to see if they were going to contact me to remedy the situation, its Friday I haven't heard a peep! I had a VERY frustrating experience with your company. And before turning to social media to launch my complaint, I asked that a manager call me and also tried to email the owner but received no response. In my search for a regular home cleaning service, I purchased a three deal package for your company through Crowd Cut. I was particularly motivated because I was hosting Thanksgiving at my house this year and was looking forward to a deep clean before the holidays. I called in September to schedule and was told that the closest time to the holiday that they had availability was today, Friday, November 18. And although I found it strange that Distinctive Cleaning was unable to give me a window of time when the cleaner would show up at my home until the day before the service, I went ahead and booked the service and took the entire day off of work so I would be available. As of 3:15pm on Thursday, November 17 I still hadn't received a phone call with the scheduled time, so I called the office and was told that they wouldn't have that information until after 4pm and I would receive a call at that time. When I still hadn't received a phone call at 8:30am this morning and left a voicemail. Just before 9am I still hadn't heard so I called again and spoke with someone, although the still couldn't tell me a time. After 9:30am the morning of the scheduled cleaning, I did receive a return phone call and I was told that the person scheduled to clean my place today called in sick so I would have to reschedule for after the Thanksgiving Holiday. I also received another follow-up call at 11:30am to the voicemail I had left 3 hours earlier with the same message. Although the company offered to reschedule for November 30, the prospect of taking a second full day off work to see if the company I hired MIGHT show up to clean my place was not that enticing. Not to mention that part of my motivation in scheduling two months ago was because I was hosting Thanksgiving. Then I was even more frustrated when I went on your website and Facebook page to find out that as late as Friday, November 11 Distinctive Cleaning was offering Pre-Holiday Cleaning packages. This makes me wonder if I just got bumped. On top of everything, my credit card was charged an $12.50 on the day of scheduled cleaning. I called to dispute it on Monday, November 21 and was told the charge would be reversed. As of this posting it still had not been fixed. read more

A very average cleaning job. Several things were not cleaned (microwave interior, floor underneath tables and dressers, kitchen garbage not emptied), despite being mentioned on the general cleaning checklist. I had purchased a 2-hour Living Social deal, but the cleaner left before the 2 hours were up. Thankfully, I didn't experience any of the financial theft and dishonesty that other people have posted about. The woman who I spoke with to schedule was friendly and prompt. However, I prefer to utilize companies with better service and reputations, and won't be hiring Distinctive Cleaning again in the future based on my experience here. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They will steal your credit card info and your money! My girlfriend used this company to clean her house. Not only did they reschedule 2 times but than they showed up late. But more concerning is that she was billed for two additional cleanings that she did not request or receive. She is still waiting to get reimbursed. When she called the company, she got the run around and some ridiculous explanation about some computer glitch in the credit card billing system. THIS IS A LIE!! I own a company which deducts automatic payments from clients credit cards monthly and this DOES NOT happen. Even if it did, it certainly wouldn't happen as often as it's been happenning to this company. Go to the Better Business Bureau website, you will see complaints regarding this nature going back a few years! There is also currently a warning on the BBB website stating that there have been over a dozen complaints in the last few weeks from customers being charged frauduantly, and they are alerting consumers to alert the BBB, MN attorney General or the local police. I spoke w/ the Apple Valley police department. They are aware of this problem and have received multiple complaints of this nature, but they cannot do anything until more victims come forward. Same w/ the attorney general. They are hoping people come forward. If you have been affercted by this either past or present, even if you got your money reimbursed, you need to contact the police and the MN attorney General in order for this company to be stopped. This has been going on for years, there's no telling how much money they have stolen from people and how much more money they will continue to steal. read more

When I tried calling numerous times to figure out what happened all I got was a voicemail. The next day I tried calling again and was told that they were too busy and would have to text me back about my concerns. Are you kidding me? You are a no show and don't answer any of my calls or voice messages, and then don't even acknowledge the poor customer service by saying you're too busy to talk. Now they aren't even answering texts or trying to reschedule. We hired Distinctive Cleaning to clean our home and windows. During the process of cleaning our windows the windows were removed and damage was done to the window frame. Our windows were less then 2 months old. I contacted Distinctive cleaning and they sent someone out to look at the windows. He committed to me that this would be resolved. 6 weeks went by and nothing happened and I contacted the company again. After going back and "their" contractor was suppose to contact me, no one ever did. I called again and then someone contacted me - during this time they were more concerned about a house cleaning bill for a few hundred dollars then any action on my damage. I committed to them that I would be happy to pay the bill but I just wanted action to the damage that was done. The damage - when removing or installing they gouged the window frame on a number of windows. These were brand new windows in the summer of 2013. When I was contacted by a gentlemen around Christmas he was going to come out the first week of January. Now it is February and nothing has happened. I last contacted Distinctive on February 3 and someone was suppose to call me on the 4th and no one has called me. I am getting nowhere with this company and will be filling a lawsuit against them. read more

What I did receive was a charge on my credit card for the service (tax not included in the Groupon) that was never given. Still waiting on a call back to get that reversed. What crap. So, I've been in touch with Distinctive Cleaning regarding the charge. They never called back regarding the message I'd left. I called them and I was speaking emphatically as I was upset, they claim I was yelling and hung up on me. They hung up on me 5 times. In the end, they told me that they were going to call the police on me for harrassing them by calling them back after they hung up. I wasn't even able to explain the problem to them. They didn't tell me they were going to fix anything. After this escapade I contacted the BBB. Today, Distinctive cleaning sent me an email stating that they were going to give me my money back, but if I didn't take down these posts on yelp, and rescind my complaint with the BBB they would post my contact information and a recording of our conversation on the internet. Where do I begin..... The only thing distinctive about distinctive cleaning is the horrific service that runs throughout their entire business. From the unprofessional and rude customer service that you receive from the "managers" at their office, to the staff that is sent out to "clean" your home, I am astounded that this company is still in business. On NUMEROUS occasions the individuals cleaning my house either just didn't show up or would come hours late, even after I confirmed their time the day before. After calling to complain about the missed appointments (various times with no reply) they said they would send someone out the next day and give me a $30 refund. Not only did they not show up the next day, they charged me again for a full service clean...I had now paid twice for two missed appointments. When the lady finally did show up, she accidentally ripped a towel bar out of my wall in the bathroom and left me a voicemail to tell me about it...even though I was home at the time. They promised to send someone out to fix it and I've now stayed home from work twice when the repair man was supposed to come and he failed to show both times as well. This happened over a month ago and the towel bar is still hanging from the wall. My service was canceled after the missed appointments and after the repair man failed to show I called the office and asked to speak to the owner....to which I was told, "the owner doesn't speak to clients"...WHAT????? read more

My husband recently discovered a charge for over a hundred dollars on my credit card from Distinctive Cleaning. I have now called six (6) times - I've called their main line and both managers. Each time, I am told that I can't be helped at that time, but that I'll receive a call back within a half hour to an hour (depending on when I call). The individuals I have talked to (specifically Nicole, one of the managers) have all been rude, even though I have been polite on each call (it's unlikely that I'll be speaking to anyone whose faulted for the error). I have also NEVER received a call back. Avoid these people if you can - there's bound to be hundreds of choices for people who are willing to help you. read more

DO NOT ever get your home cleaned by #distinctivecleaning worst cleaning of a home I have ever seen topped off by the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Was actually hung up on by the general manager after letting her know how two 16 year old kids (her "professional" cleaning crew) were deffinetly under trained, being that we had 3 things cleaned and none were done right. A management error no doubt in my mind. Needless to say if it's important enough to rant about its pretty bad. read more

First off I was impressed with the website! Jennifer was the contact who I discussed my cleaning needs with later I found out that she is the owner. She told me one price and then charged my account $45 more because of taxes. This was her explaination of extra charges. The house cleaners smelled of smoke and did a terrible job cleaning our house. They were fast and sloppy at what they did. They took a break to smoke and when they returned to the house they really were smoke smelling. They were not good at all with cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen floors. I should have read the posts here to see that they were not the best option to have clean my house and carpet. The carpet cleaning was done well but that was all I can say that was done right..... I suggest contacting another cleaning service.... read more

Seriously look elsewhere for a cleaning company. The only great thing about this company is their customer service people. Other than that the cleaning was poor and done half a$$ed. Invest your hard earned money elsewhere. read more

I purchased a one-time house cleaning with them. They asked if I wanted morning or afternoon, and I chose morning. The day before they called stating the maid will be arriving between 9:15 and 11:15. No one showed up so I called at 11:45. They said someone messed up the schedule and I was actually scheduled for the afternoon. The maid arrived at 1pm. The cleaning was way below expectation. The person was in my home for 3 and half hours but one wouldn't have been able to tell that much time was spent. My hardwood floor still had sticky spots. Bathroom tub walls, outside of toilet, corners on the floors in various rooms were NOT cleaned! The outer edges of stairs were not wiped, and cobwebs were not removed. I asked the maid and she said it wasn't in the work order...my bathroom shower wasn't cleaned at all! The service was bad so it was a waste of $163 that I spent. read more

My experience with Distinctive Cleaning started when I purchased a $150 voucher from Crowd Cut for window cleaning for my two-story home. This was in April 2012. I tried to schedule the service and got no answer once, was asked to call back once, and was told someone would call me back (and didn't) once. I finally got to talk to someone who was willing to schedule an appointment for the cleaning and was told that they would call to confirm the day before. When it got to be 3:30 the afternoon before the scheduled cleaning and I hadn't heard from anyone, I called them and discovered there was no trace of me on the schedule for the next day. The person I spoke with asked me who I had talked to. Due to his distinctive voice, I was positive that it was the person I was currently talking with and told him that. He denied it. When I said that I had had numerous hassles trying to schedule this appointment, he said that that would never happen there and he hung up on me. I didn't want to be out the $150 I had paid upfront so when they called me to "fix the complaint," I rescheduled but had to give them a credit card number to cover the tax. Two guys actually did show up in June 2012 and did a reasonable job. I was glad and had no desire to see Distinctive Cleaning again. Fast-forward to this afternoon when I looked at my recent credit card statement. There is a charge from Distinctive Cleaning on this month's statement for $164.15 -- the amount I paid Crowd Cut plus the tax. I haven't had any communication with this business since June 2012! Something criminal is going on here, and I've alerted my credit card company. Unfortunately, I haven't heard the last of Distinctive Cleaning! Steer clear of this place! read more

Huge Mistake! I purchased a Groupon Special for discount home cleaning offer from this company. Within 2 days that Distinctive Cleaning came to my home, my WHOLE family was covered in bug-bites. Turns out, our home was COMPLETELY INFESTED with BED-BUGS as a result from using this company! I have called SEVERAL times to complain and NO ONE will return my call. I was promised that Jennifer Carr, the owner would speak with me directly, and still no contact from anyone. This has cost me HUNDREDS of dollars to have these NASTY bugs eradicated - and we are still uneasy. It is the worst feeling in the world to think they are still crawling on us as we sleep. CALL someone, ANYONE else but Distinctive Cleaning. I should have read the google reviews - but I didn t and now we are suffering. On 10/27 I received an e-mail confirming that they would be to my place the next day but wanted to move the carpet cleaning to Wednesday the 29th. I said that would be fine, the new tenants were moving in that Friday. They were originally very good to deal with but that changed dramatically. They did do an Ok job with the cleaning except they didnt clean the oven at all. That was very disappointing. Then Wednesday came and no carpet cleaners had shown up as of 1:00. They never did give me a time that they would be there so I called to find out when they would show up. I got a call back saying they were not able to make it to my house today. WHAT no call to tell me that? They wanted to reschedule for Friday, that didn't work because my new tenants were moving in that day. I expressed my frustrations and the response was condescending and rude. I told them to credit me for the service that was never performed. That was over two weeks ago and still no credit. I have called numerous times and every time I am told someone will call you back tomorrow. No one ever does. Today I was told I need to speak to Jennifer, the owner, she is the one that is in charge of issuing credits but unfortunately no one can tell me when she is in. Since she is the owner she has no set schedule. I would never recommend this company to anyone. The rudeness and unprofessionalism is unbelievable. I see they have a lot of unhappy people on yelp, I really wish I would have checked here prior to me hiring them. read more
