We were initially…read morehesitant about getting a custom ketubah due to the price, but we fell in love with the images from Batya's website, and couldn't stop thinking about how special it would be to have something that was truly us made to honor our commitment. We reached out to Batya, and she was so helpful and so prompt. Then we met with her in person, and she spent time helping us figure out what we wanted, and we walked away smiling at what we'd come up with (with a ton of her help!). When we saw our sketches and then ultimately our finished ketubah, we were so happy and thankful we'd decided to go with Art by Batya! We now have the most beautiful, special, "us", meaningful ketubah to look at every day and remember our commitment. It's such a nice gift to ourselves that will last a lifetime. Thank you, Batya!! Thanks to Hannah and Wright, we were able to get to know a variety of artists, visit studios, and truly get to know the landscape of the art world in a way that we would not have otherwise. We wanted very much to purchase a piece (or pieces) by a young, female artist and we were able to do just that, and found a match that was perfect for us. We are thrilled to have not just beautiful artworks gracing our home, but most of all to have found an artist whose career we feel invested in and whose work we feel proud to display. Portraits don't just have to be for the Bride and Groom with Drawn Together, everyone gets the opportunity! Everyone loved having Michael draw their portrait and he was so wonderful to have at our wedding. Truly talented and our guests all got to take a beautiful portrait home. We hired their artist, Mike, to draw our guests at our wedding, especially during "down time" such…read moreas pre-ceremony and during cocktail hour. Out of 150 guests only about 19 were drawn. Mike was barely seen and I have no idea where he wondered off to during our wedding. Many guests had no idea he was even there and wished they had gotten a drawing done. When I spoke to the manager the customer service was awful and I was given excuses for Mike such as "the sun was in his eyes," "he didn't know where the guests were," (we were the only party at the venue that day), and he needed a place to plug in what was advertised as a mobile printer. Not worth a single penny, we were better off without hiring a live artist for what we received, which basically was nothing. He was unprepared despite us and our coordinator briefing him multiple times on the schedule, contact numbers and our vision for having him there.

I say this with confidence because I recently attended an art gallery exhibit here this past Saturday and saw so many happy and exuberant faces really enjoying the whole experience. We were all there for Devon Rodriguez' first solo exhibition and even got to meet the talented young man. The line moved quite fast, the staff were all super polite and friendly and space was immaculate. Oh and might I add, it was completely free to attend! Some say that NYC is quite an expensive place, and sure it is in many ways... however I'm grateful for experiences like this as they are part of what make New York so darn special. Not only is she the sweetest person you'll ever meet, but she's also an absolute perfectionist in the best way. We worked together to bring my daughter's vision to life--a charming bow-themed celebration. From the stunning cloth bow backdrop she assembled on-site, to the most adorable bow-shaped menu cards, every detail was thoughtful and beautifully executed. The plates, the china, everything was just perfect. Noelia's service was exceptional--she was responsive, professional, and truly cared about every detail.
