This is a complex of self-catering apartments and small holiday cottages right in the heart of Whitby.
The staff are all very welcoming and pleasant at all times and made our stay there a real pleasure. The breakfasts (08.30 10.00) are, at the moment, £6 extra per head per day, but I would strongly recommend them to anyone staying here. The Full English is exactly what it says and kept two of us going until early evening!
The one negative point of our stay was that we were placed in the Seashell apartment, which is on the third floor. As my wife is currently awaiting surgery to replace both knees, this proved to be a problem at times. The other side of this was that the views across Whitby from there were breathtaking!
The uploaded photograph is the view from the living room window of Seashell apartment.
The apartment itself is extremely comfortable and would be good for a normal family with two adults and two children. There are two bedrooms, bathroom, excellent living room and fully appointed kitchen.
The location of the whole site is a dream down a very small street (a family car can just make it along the road, single track) and a hundred yards from all the main roads and shopping areas as well as being central for all of the venues which we had to get to for the amazing Whitby Folk Festival.
Another bonus was the apartment key let us into the building and our own apartment, making getting in easy; a must when we sometimes had stewarding duties up until 01.30! On this point, we were never disturbed by any other residents, even though it was fully booked and others were, like us, there for the festival and, therefor musicians!
In short, an ideal stay in a beautiful location. read more
