Over the Christmas holidays, I stopped by Discount Tire to get prices on some tires. It was very busy this particular morning, but the staff were truly amazing. They greeted us when we walked in and even though it took awhile to speak with someone, they thanked us for our patience and told us someone would be with us momentarily. Those types of things are very important. After speaking with someone about an issue I had with another tire store, they even apologized for my negative experience. Called to verify the tire was in the next day and was told it came in and to bring in the truck to get replaced. However was not told I had to sit for 2 1/2 hours. My normal goto for tires (College Tire) is closing shop and didn't have what I needed. I shopped Sunday and found what I was looking for online. Discount Tires is close to me, they had exactly what I was looking for, the price was reasonable, and they offered a veteran discount. You can purchase online and set an appointment. I didn't do that because the earliest appointment was lunch the next day & I had a long trip ahead of me. I arrived 15 minutes before opening. They had half a dozen employees hanging out in the lobby, but I didn't want to approach them before opening. I parked by the west door. A couple of cars zoomed around the building, and the next thing I knew the lobby had a dozen people--there is another East door--the main door--and they opened early. I managed to find my way in and waited behind some of the crowd that zoomed around the building. That was frustrating, but it is on me. They got to me without much waiting. The price online is the price in the store, and they honored the id.me (military verification) discount. The only thing that I didn't like is limited service. They don't have the equipment to read the battery level of the Tire Pressure Monitor Sensors. My sensors are getting old, but I don't want to blindly replace those expensive things. The store signage indicates they rebuild the sensors when they touch a tire. Since they don't have a way to check the batteries in this process, I'm happy to roll the dice at the expense of one star. I realize that TPMS isn't that big of a deal (check the pressure, lazy), but it is a potential error light for my wife to complain about if it needs service. I try to keep those things off so she isn't numb to them, even if it is like playing Whac-A-Mole. Discount Tire worked me in and promised to be done by 9AM. After I paid, I sat by the west door and watched my vehicle. My phone lit up with a text from the store--you can track their progress (see screenshot//ignore my impeccable phone charging habits). At 8:15am I was anxious about these folks making 9am...my vehicle was still sitting in front of me. I took a work call, and looked up to find my car gone. I checked the link and it had indeed updated--we were in the bay by 8:20am. The waiting room is clean and spacious. I sat back and observed--These folks are fast! As I sat there, my entertainment was the technician in black waltzing in calling names. Folks were zooming away as fast as they came in except one family, who had some bad news about their balance/rotation. At 8:40, the technician in black walked in and called my name. It was all good news-although he handed me a Ziploc bag with some washers in it. He explained that washers are needed for many aftermarket lug nuts, but mine were OEM and did not require those washers, so they returned the configuration to factory. I suppose that's what I get for buying a used car. :) Discount Tires was done with my new tires promptly-- under promised and over delivered. I was on my way and had this review typed up before 9am. They have pit crews working on those cars, y'all! If Yelp allowed I would give them 4.5 stars, but I can't give them five for not having the equipment to do the job completely right (to my standards, anyway). I'll be back. I took my car to a competing tire shop because I had a nail in my tire. They told me I needed to replace the entire tire. I took it to Discount Tire because I wanted a 2nd opinion. They found a nail in a different tire as well. They were able to patch both tires and they didn't charge me anything! I will be a customer for life here! read more

She called me and I told her to take it to discount tire and I called the manager Sutton. He not only took care of my daughter when she got there, but called me back on my cell phone to let me know that she had gotten there and was OK. I went in to have one tire replaced on my 2024 Tiguan VW vehicle. Somewhere I picked up a screw in the sidewall of my tire. I was informed that I needed to replace all 4 tires because of my vehicle being an AWD. I explained that it was a new car and only had 4,000 miles on it. I guess this guy thought I was a complete idiot and would replace all 4 tires without asking questions! I called my husband who works in the automotive service field and he said that is complete BS! He said that he didn't have the appropriate speed rated tire to replace it and said, "You probably don't understand all the technical stuff and you are probably confused and should go to the dealership". Why, because I'm a woman? All of this after I called them to see if they had a tire in stock that would work for my car, and was told they absolutely did. I explained that the dealership can't get another tire for me for several days! Ladies...I don't recommend this place at all!!! read more

This is the worst discount I have ever been to. Walk in to have 1 tire replaced under warranty and get told after a 9 am check in that it would be 11-11:15. So I wait. Watched at least 1 walk in after me come in and get taken care of. When I went up at 11:30 to ask how much longer I get told they got behind and it will be another 45 min. I am 50 yrs old and have been a loyal discount tire customer since 16 yrs old. This experience has broke my loyalty. I will be finding me a new place to give my tire business. Someone determined that we didn't have enough tire centers in Madison County and now at least 4 are under construction. Discount Tire is the newest to open so I gave them a try today. I needed my tires rotated and balanced since I had driven 10,000 miles. The building is large with a large waiting room about 10 chairs. They offer free bottle water and coffee to the customers. They also have bar stools and a counter where you can use a laptop and watch the garage area. The check-in process was lengthy. I think the gentleman was new and I'll chalk up the lengthy check-in to that. I still not sure why they had to check the tire size to give me a price to rotate and balance. Usually this is a set price unless you are chaining tires on dump truck. The time to rotate and balance was very good and they were very busy. I watched as senior experienced employees mentored and helped new hires work on the cars. The employees were hustling and you don't get that at the other main tire stores. On the way there I begun to think about how much it would cost to get my tire fixed plus I had to be in and out due to an doctors appointment. Was very taking care of by Ian. Great customer service all around. To begin with got there told Ian the kind of problem I was having with my car tires and helped me go through how fair my tires were; they were good. Except for one and was oddly wrong so he recommend to buy to new tires which I did and he was right the car drives perfectly now. Moreover I also had to buy a TPMS since it wasn't working properly. Now I just need to buy another one since the one on my left back side isn't working. So since I want the TPMS light to go off I'll probably be going soon. Which are way cheaper than Pep Boys they wanted to charge me 100$ for one TPMS and Discount Tire has them for 60$ each. Come to find out, they said they couldn't put my tires on until the end of the month. So I called Sutton at discount tire and he assured me that I would have my tires done THAT DAY as long as I brought my car in by 6! I had to have a drivable vehicle by the weekend because we were going to be traveling. Let me tell you something, Izzy at the front desk HOOKED ME UP! My car was good and ready by 6:30! Another great thing about them is that they offer lots of rebates so definitely ask about that if you are buying new tires. Got quoted a price for ~$750, came in and was charged $832. Not sure if the "extras" bumped it up or what, but when you ask for a quote on the phone, you expect to see that number on the receipt. In the end it was only $21 more expensive than right across the street and I would have to wait another day for the tires to be ordered there. I will happily pay anyone else to rotate and balance them in the future. At least when I call someone else up on the phone for a price, I can trust that is what I will be charged. read more

I had a really positive experience at Discount Tires. Early Evening around 5 pm my car's low tire pressure light went off. I panicked fearing the worst and was sure no one would be open. A quick yelp search led me to Discount Tires who promised that if I could come in before closing time (6 pm) that they'd get my tire fixed up. I made it there at about 5:30 pm. After a quick check in they assessed my tire and checked on the other 3 as well. My tires were all pretty bad which isn't surprising as I'm still adjusting to the very different driving style out here in Northern Alabama. I didn't want to purchase any other tires at the moment and told Sosa (the gentleman who was helping me) that I would just like to get my tire patched. There was no pressure to buy anything and I was told that it would be about a 45 minute wait as they were very busy. I was also offered complimentary coffee or bottled water. After about 45 minutes a different gentleman brought me the keys to my car and told me my repair was completed. He also informed me that there was no charge as they offer the patch repair service free even if you bought your tires elsewhere. As Black Friday is right around the corner, I was really grateful and stunned. The next day I gave the company a call to find out about the longevity of my tire's repair job. I spoke to Mike who told me that Discount Tires both plugs as well as patches any tire that is repaired there, which means the repair job is good for the life of the tire. He also informed me that they offer free tire rotation and some other complimentary services that I can't remember. All in all very pleased with the service I received and I will for sure be back to buy tires. read more

Said give us about an hour. 40 mins later my car is still sitting in the parking lot and had not been touched. Mark had no idea so apparently had no idea how to do his job.
