Discorder was created in February 1983 by founding editors Jennifer Fahrni and Mike Mines as an alternative music magazine for Vancouver and the program guide for CiTR. I did write with them, however, never really gotten along with the editors and their moral which is, "no matter how bad a show is, write good things about it 'cause you were given free tickets." This is not to say that this was a bad magazine to write for. I do heavily credit it for giving me the confidence and skill to write on my own (work on my own zine). It also taught me that there is a place in the world for smaller publications. It shocks me when I see the magazine around town still in print, even though most of the content can be found on line.
