I am not one who usually leaves posts. I would rather do something useful. But this review is…read morenecessary and useful to those who might try to get a puppy here. Just a few short months after we got our new puppy from this breeder, we are at the end of our rope. The dog is only 6 months old. He has been a handful from the very beginning. Issues include: 1) Using his crate as a restroom(almost everyday) 2) Inability to house train. a) he would use the bathroom outside on a walk and then come inside to go on the couch or carpet. 3) He was unusually aggressive with play, feeding, watering, relaxing. 4) He bit 3 of our children unprovoked. 5) We worked with a trainer for 2 weeks 6) We consulted our veterinarian for advice and recommendations. 7) We have spent over $5000 on this dog in just 5 months. The biting was absolutely the last straw. We have small children and they live in fear of the puppy who will still double in size again to 80+ lbs. No shelters would take him because they are full, and we had to report him to animal control. While we were looking for ways that he could still be redeemed, a Weimaraner rescue told us that this puppy breeder has gained a reputation through their rescues and they tend to see a lot of aggressive and dominating dogs from their kennel. Save your money and your heartache. I would strongly recommend against them.

Needless to say as a veteran 18 year police K9 Handler, I am very picky and want only the best for my ol' partner, a 16 year old large Black Labrador/MICKY. I needed a place that is patient and kind to this old guy, who served me well searching for explosive odor at DTW Airport back in the day (2014-2018). Anyway, upon arrival I was greeted by hands-on Lucky Paws Owner/Stephine and she and her Team greeted Big MICKY with open arms. I could not have picked a better place for MICKY to stay at. Not only to stay at but be groomed at too. The bottom line, everyone I saw working at Lucky Paws had genuine kindness and a true sense of caring for not only MICKY but for every animal and owner that came into the store. I left there Friday morning knowing MICKY was in the best of hands. When I picked MICKY up Sunday morning, he was in great shape, spirits, and looked and smelled great. As far as cost, it's was money well worth spending for the outstanding services provided by Lucky Paws. This place is a no brainer, if you love your pet and you need boarding, grooming, and good piece of mind that your pet is in the best of care, Lucky Paws is the clear choice to house your pet. When I…read moregot there I found the woman was operating out of her filthy basement, with her three little dogs running around, one of which I noticed lifted it's leg at least twice. The woman quoted me $42-50 for a cocker spaniel, and I informed her he was matted when making the appointment. Once she realized I had a certificate the price was $63. The more I look at it the more I find spots that she missed. I stayed the whole time to help hold my dog so there is no reason for her not being able to finish the job, and it seems very apparent to me that she charged me more because she was displeased that the radio station is still selling her discounted certificates.

The service and care were phenomenal. We were shocked that the bill for all labs and the removal of the cyst was lower than the just the pre-surgery labs were for other procedures at our regular vet. The friendliness combined with professionalism made us realize we needed to switch vets. I will say the service at our old vet was always good, but always a strain on our wallets. We felt we had no choice but to switch. We wound up leaving the area, but if we'd stayed we would have returned for the great service!
