PUT DIRTFISH ON YOUR BUCKET LIST TODAY! My ten year old son loves rally so we scheduled a "Thrill Ride" and boy was it ever! Never experienced anything like that in my life so fun! Beyond that everyone at Dirtfish is SUPER NICE and welcoming, they have their own little Rally Museum and they let us wander everywhere, so fun to see the classes and the history. Special thanks to Kelley and the ladies at the front who made sure everything was perfect, definitely the highlight of the summer and the day my son turns 16 we'll be in class learning pendulum turns

I've never been to Dirt fish before and I'll be honest I was a little hesitant due to the price. Last thing I wanted to do is spend 1k+ and be underwhelmed. Well let me reassure you that won't happen. I signed up for the 1/2 AWD at 8am. I'll start by saying the front desk lady was amazingly friendly and set a high bar for the rest of the staff which I can confidently say they all raised if not surpassed. The lead instructor was such a chill likable guy who made the 'classroom' portion actually entertaining yet informative. Normally those parts can be boring but not with him. Very pleased with the way he does the 'class' My driving instructor was Kip and I can honestly say he's probably the coolest guy I've ever met haha. Super relatable, respectful, hyped me up the entire time but let me know when I was doing something wrong so I could improve. That guy is an amazing driver so I'm glad I got to work with him. The way he explains things makes it feel so simple and easy for me to grasp. I was nervous I'd suck or look stupid and with the way Kip hyped me up by the end of the day I felt like I was the best driver out there haha. I will be back for sure but this time I'll be going for either the full day or the 3 day. I can't speak on any of the other drivers as I didn't talk to them much but they all seemed extremely friendly too. I don't know how you guys train your staff but you did an amazing job because they are awesome! Can't wait to go back. The one down side: Now my daily driver seems so boring compared to those cars haha

I have spent a cumulative of 5 days at DirtFish now, and I'm looking forward to adding to that total. The first time being a 1 day class in their AWD (all-wheel drive) STI, then a 2 day advanced AWD class in the STI, and just recently 2 days of private instruction in their RWD (rear-wheel drive) BRZ. If you aren't having fun here, you probably don't have a pulse. This place is so addictively fun it should carry a surgeon general's warning on it. Enough with the cliches, onto the review! My first time coming to DirtFish I was pretty excited, and had little to no experience driving AWD cars, and 0 rally experience. I've spent nearly my entire driving life in RWD cars on regular roads. I learned a ton, and had so much fun I was immediately looking to return. I came back a few months later for the 2 day advanced class and got to experience even more of the DirtFish property. They have numerous course layouts, all designed to challenge you in new ways. Each class is tailored to teach you certain skills, which are achieved on their course layouts. As you get better at rally driving, and move up through their classes you get to drive more fun and more challenging courses. You learn more each time, and each class is different. After some fun in their AWD Subaru STIs, I wanted a new challenge in their Subaru BRZ as they are RWD cars and bring a whole new required skill set. I chatted directly with DirtFish about what I should book. My schedule only allowed for 2 days, and I wanted to make sure to maximize my driving time. I had done their regular classes 'VIP' style, which means you buy both seats of the lesson. This allows you to be in the car the whole day of instruction instead of getting out and another student driving for a period of time. DirtFish let me know that booking private instruction gives you even more driving time than the VIP, so I knew that was the way to go. I booked it and was able to pick my preferred instructors. Day 1 of the private instruction was a nice early summer sunny and dry day. This meant the courses were dusty, hard, and dry. They do have a water truck to keep the dust down, but you'll get some experience in limited visibility. We started out on some of the easier stuff so I could learn the feel of the RWD car and get some basics down. We graduated through their courses pretty quickly and got onto The Grid course by the afternoon. The Grid is a fun Rally Cross circuit on multiple surface types. Tons of fun! There are fast sections, technical sections, and fun sliding sections. I'd do lapping half-days on The Grid if it was an option. Day 2 of the private instruction was a typical wet and rainy spring day. Course conditions were muddy, standing water in places, and overall wet. What does that mean in rally? FUN! Extra sliding, extra mud flinging around, epic pictures, and more. We warmed up for the day on The Link course, and then moved up to a modified Wedge course. I was the only car on both of these courses, which meant I could hot lap them over and over per session. Normally you'd have to wait for other cars to get done, then go through the course again. I didn't have to do that, and was getting around 20 laps per session which would run about 20-30 minutes between the courses being grated. When the afternoon started the wind began to pick up, and so did the rain. More standing water, more mud, more wet overall, MORE FUN. We proceeded to do a customized course layout that my instructor had put together. Just on day 2 I ended up running more than 130 laps, which is A LOT. In my 2 days of private instruction I probably did more driving than my prior 3 days combined. Private instruction is surely how I plan to continue to go back. The only downside to DirtFish is that it is not inexpensive. However the value is immense, and I always feel like every penny spent was well worth it. I have so much fun, and I learn a lot. Each different time I've come here for instruction I learned something new, and built off the skills I learned from prior classes. If I had to make a recommendation, it is to save up a bit more and do a private instruction day or to do a class VIP style. This way you are maximizing your driving time. The other students at DirtFish doing private instruction while I was there were first timers from all over the country. All of them were loving it, and wishing they lived closer so they could come back often. I'm fortunate to live 40 minutes away, and have the ability to come back frequently. Thank you to all of the wonderful people of Dirtfish! From the front desk, to the instructors, to the tractor workers, the behind the scenes staff, the mechanics in the shop, photographers, and everyone in between. You are all amazing, and THANK YOU for what you do.

So, as a last-minute gift to myself for my birthday last month, I decided to do-something-big/purchase the 2-hour Taste of Rally. Fortunately, for me, it was also during some promo pricing. The lobby, staff and classroom building is very clean, sharp, modern and well-stocked with goodies and even 2 retired(?) rally cars: one is an old school GC8(?) Impreza STI (btw, I've played the first 4 Gran Turismos and my garage was always filled with dozens of, and 90% of, Subarus! :-) ) and the other is a Focus(?). The bathrooms have the gravity-stop seats (so they won't slam down). Above the couches in the lobby, there's a 3-shot panoramic picture of back in the day when the former-mill site was alive and bustling - really cool - looked like a small city! For the Taste, it consisted of a briefing in the classroom and a small course that links to the transition tarmac outside down the hill. Upon getting transported down there, we 3 rounds for each of us and then the Final Round which is the Thrill Ride. The course is designed for you stay in 2nd gear so the only time you shift is leaving from a stop (tarmac, stalling or you somehow end up off-course). I think my instructor was Don and he was the perfect combination of heckler, supporter, complimenter, teacher and backseat driver. =) Each Round consisted of about 2-3 passes: Round 1: 60% butterflies/anxiety, 40% excitement. Round 2: 50% butterflies/anxiety, 50% excitement. Round 3: 20% butterflies/anxiety, 80% excitement. .......... Round 4: 100% butterflies/anxiety, 100% excitement. (The Thrill Ride is less nerve-racking when you try to "see through" the driver's FOV - Looking Ahead.... and when you don't hit your head against the roll-cage, to which I did not, yay me!) It's definitely a super fun experience when you're able to floor it and feel the car "give out from beneath you" and feeling her whip from side-to-side when you over/understeer. If you can drive a stick and are looking for atleast a once-in-a-lifetime experience, I recommend you trying this out! *en route back to the building in van while passing through large old building* Driver: "Recently, there was Rally Cross event here and drivers passed through here going 120---- (...... HOLY SH*T?!?!?!?) ----mph and then had to do a 90 degree turn at the end." WOW! And the surface was full of small bumps, too. This is why I'm no professional rally car driver... I'm not crazy. ;)

I wanted to love DirtFish...I really, really wanted to. I'm a Subaru owner of over a decade and very involved in the car scene, so DirtFish has been on my radar ever since it opened. It pains me - more than you can possibly imagine - to say it wasn't worth it. Two concerns before coming here: 1) I'd hate going back to my car, and 2) I'd want to come here every weekend for the rest of my life. Lucky for my wallet, neither of those ended up being true. Here's why: 1) Because DirtFish's cars are unmodified, I was actually overjoyed to return to mine. 2) Because of how little seat-time you get, and the fact that the programs are the same, there's no reason to return; I wouldn't learn anything new. The second point is the one which really killed it for me; you get very little driving time. 90% of the day was spent waiting in a cold hut while someone else drove or they zamboni'd the course. Lunch went longer than scheduled, we ended an hour earlier than scheduled, etc... Long story short, I felt jipped. The DirtFish staff and other participants were nice. I liked the instructors, although mine was light on instructing and heavy on unrelated chitchat (which I normally would be fine with, but here I was paying $1,500 to LEARN). I could go on, but you get the point. As a lifelong gearhead and someone who dreamt of coming to DirtFish for many years, I don't think I would recommend it.

I did the half day rally intro which i purchased from Groupon for 50% off the regular price. The whole experience was great. You schedule your time and date online then get a couple of emails to give you all the details. Turn up on the day and you get a briefing by one of the drivers who is your host for the course. It lasts about 40 mins and introduces the basics of rally technique which you will use during the driving session. Quick van drive down to the driving area and 8 drivers then take it in turns to drive 4 cars. One group watches the other which gives your brain time to process and learn from watching as the host talks about the techniques and what they did well or badly and why. Driving consists of the instructor giving a quick demo (big smiles every time) then switch seats and do the driving yourself. First drive was going round in circles learning basic weight transfer using engine/ left foot brake and timing for turning and power application. Next event was the slalom using the same techniques and adding obstacles and corners. Last event was the "bone yard" which is a mini stage defined by cones. Lots of varying corners and surfaces and a handbrake turn at the end. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount I learned and removed some misconceptions about rally driving. (I am an avid rally fan and this course really gives you even greater respect for the world class guys). Is it worth the price? I only paid half price so was very happy with the whole experience. Ted the host driver did a great job and my instructor Adam was very good at driving and teaching. It's not an easy job to take anyone with cash and let them drive a 300hp car without dual controls. (they can reach your steering wheel and handbrake but still!) Being driven or driving is just as much fun and you do get enough time behind the wheel and the time between drives is good for processing and having a drink/snack provided by Dirtfish. The equipment is first class. They look, sound and drive as you would expect. The facilities are also very nice and the school has a couple of WRC cars from McRae (Focus) and Burns (Impreza) plus loads of race driving suits from F1 and WRC including Loeb, Coulthard and Button. Thanks to Adam, Ted and the rest of the Dirtfish team for a great experience!

What an amazing day, well worth it, definitely something that you should put on your list of things to do. I did the 1 day 4WD program, and had a blast. My instructor Sean was amazing, great teacher, encouraging all the way through. He made sure everything was fun and I learned a lot. The whole staff were great, and things are well organized to keep it fun and safe. You will switch places with another student in the same car throughout the day, which gives you time to reflect on what you've just been taught, as you watch the other set of students and see how they do on their runs. The day ends with two major sections linked together, which use all the techniques you've learned so far, and makes for a fun course to run down. Wear clothes you don't mind getting muddy, and drink plenty of water, it gets toasty in those cars. read more
From registration through farewell, Dirtfish staff was friendly and welcoming. The vehicles were ready to run when students left the morning classroom session, and ran all day while 2:1 student:instructor ratio swapped turns at the wheel. Expensive? Yes. Memorable? Yes. Does my kid want to return? She's already saving up. We aren't made of money, but the kid graduated high school and college concurrently. Nontraditional schoolers don't get much in the way of kudos for such feats, and no "congratulations" checks nor cards, apparently. So perhaps the Mr. and I went overboard in purchasing the one-day rally school for our kid who has researched, talked about and dreamed of DirtFish for several years now. Rather than flying up, she asked that we cannonball run it. (I thought she'd be bringing one of her young, fun, automotive buddies, but she asked me. Squeee!) So, Friday after work we headed north on I-5 and didn't stop for 7 hours but once for a pittie, food and gas. Arose at sunrise to drive the day away to arrive by dinner in Snoqualmie, then got a good night's rest before her Dream Day at Dirtfish. They probably thought we were nuts, being only the second person on site. (Only the head instructor was there before us...and by minutes.) We were afraid to be late after such a long haul. THIS is what we'd come for! So we enjoyed our coffee in the car while overlooking one of the several courses on this 300-plus-acre rally mecca. Inside, we found a fun mini rally museum of sorts, shop, and friendly staff who greeted us, helped her sign in and explained the day. As the Mom paying for the gig, I was disappointed to see the 2-student-per-car ratio, and what seemed to me like a lot of down time between turns, BUT....my daughter, the actual student, said it was great because she needed that time to absorb what she'd been taught before moving on to the next step. By the end of the day, things were really clicking, and she said that down time, and watching other students, as well as the advice from her instructor, were all key. Left the property about 5 p.m. and truly cannonballed it back home, driving and sleeping in shifts, to make it ALMOST in time for the start of a 7:30 a.m. work day. Expensive? yes. Worth the drive? HECK yes! Doing it again? Hope so... read more

I had such a blast here!!! Subaru fanatic here, so everybody from the Subaru community to my clients that are into cars have heard of DirtFish and have been recommending me to go try it out, I don't know why, but I never got around to it. I probably thought I would like the traditional track better, but holy shit this was fun!!! And the best part is that they provide the vehicles for you so I don't have to worry about any extra maintenance on my personal vehicle. It has been pretty damn depressing this year as we all know it and I was so happy to finally go out to do something cool. Like jumping for joy happy. I really didn't know what I was getting myself into, I just signed up because I needed something to do and was amazed at how much I've learned in a half day class. First of all, I'm a night owl and it was refreshing that my class didn't start before noon so I was able to sleep in and actually be awake without the use of coffee to function. Our lead instructor Michelle was awesome and my brave driving instructor Kip that was in the vehicle coaching me was great also. I don't think I did that well, but I was still amazed at how much I've improved from the beginning of the class toward the end because of how patient and encouraging my instructors were. I like how the class is split into 2 groups so you can rest while monitoring other student drive. I honestly liked it for the downtime for me to either take a water break or socialize with other students in the class. Can't say enough positive thing about my experience here, it's definitely a day that I'll always remember and add to my collection of great memories. It's also just nice to be surrounded in an environment with others that share the same interests as you. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:) read more

If you like driving, you will not find this kind of fun anywhere else in the Pacific Northwest! Recently, Wounded Warrior Project was gifted an opportunity for 20 Post 9/11 service connected Military veterans from Washington, Idaho, and Oregon to experience rally driving the DirtFish way. I cannot overstate this, every single Veteran participant were totally stoked about the experience! Many of them said this was the experience of a lifetime, and that it really helped with their PTSD. This was a win for all. I highly recommend DirtFish to anyone looking for a quality training and an ultimate driving experience. read more

Really top-notch. I attended the three-day AWD program. I had done a little autocross instruction in the past, but had no interest in competing. My goals were to build skills and confidence. And OK, have some fun, too. Mission accomplished! I learned a ton and had a blast. As a woman who just likes cars and driving, I was afraid I'd be out of my element at DirtFish. But the testimonials on the website gave me the courage to sign up, and my experience was spectacular. I was one of two female students in the group of 10, and there was a female instructor. Our group included people with a range of diverse driving experience. The instructors are pros and really friendly, too. You trade off instructors every morning and afternoon, so you get time with each. There was a little classroom instruction, but most of it was on the course, driving and observing. Two people share a car, so you get time after each run to watch and learn from the other group. I found it very helpful to have time to watch and absorb the lessons learned. I was amazed by how many of the lessons were metaphors for life. Like, "Look where you want to go." For me, this added a profound spiritual and personal growth element. Starting on day 1, I couldn't believe the crazy stuff I was doing. I pushed myself harder than I could've imagined, driving fast on a variety of surfaces and learning new turning and braking techniques. For me, though, as a plus-size woman, the hardest part was getting in and out of the car and harness. But the instructors were great at helping me figure it out, and by the afternoon of day 2 I settled into the routine. Day 3 was just a blast, driving the full course and integrating all the techniques we'd been learning. It was a three-day adrenalin high. Sleep and self care are really important. The location is fantastic, an old mill site in the woods and surrounded by mountains. The mill and surrounding areas were a filming location for Twin Peaks. The HQ building has comfortable meeting rooms, clean and well-appointed restrooms, and a nice gift shop area. We ordered lunch from a catering menu each morning, and they were delicious. I also highly recommend staying at the nearby Salish Lodge. Be sure to mention DirtFish for a discount. I only have one piece of criticism, which is that the program relies heavily on single-use plastic water bottles. I get that hydration is super important, and plastic is easy. But it's also destructive for the environment. I've carried a reusable water bottle for decades, and it's not that hard to refill it from a dispenser or sink. I think it would be a nice touch if DirtFish handed out branded water bottles with labels, right along with helmets. In general, though, they seem to have thought through their business model really well, so maybe they've decided this strategy won't work for them. DirtFish is expensive, but worth it. I got a Black Friday special that really helped. I feel it was an investment in myself, my safety, and my enjoyment of my car. And the experience of a lifetime. read more

Hi P S.! Thank you so much for your compliments of DirtFish! We truly…
SOOOOOPER FUN! It's 7pm... and I'm still riding high from the Adrenaline, Excitement and Fun from the morning 1/2 day class. The Euphoria of hitting your line and sliding through a perfect turn... there's nothing like it. I don't have any special driving skills... heck... I don't even drive manual everyday but this was something I wanted to do... so I did it. AND... I'm SO GLAD that I did it. I'm Hooked... I CAN'T WAIT TO DO IT AGAIN! (Note, in the 1/2 day class you don't leave 2nd gear so you don't need to worry about shifting or being in the proper gear... in case anyone out there is concerned about that... as long as you have a little experience with a stick you'll be fine. Trust me. On the flip side, if you think that's too slow or too easy... take the class and see if you still think that after the class.) Got lucky and there was just me and another guy in the morning 1/2 day class. So, we got more seat time. Plus, we didn't have the added stress of having more people as an audience to embarrass ourselves. Because I did plenty of that .... Spun out more times than I'm sure most any other student.... but Winston was SUPER PATIENT.... This guy doesn't get mad... and I know I pushed him ... because I was frustrated and laughing and pretty much all over the place. But he knew how to settle me down and get me re-focused. He truly has a gift for instruction. Me and the other student took turns with Winston riding shotgun with us in the car while Don was our instructor when we were taking a break to catch our breath, relax and watch n learn while out of the seat. Don and Winston are Fantastic! I'm sure all of the instructors are equally as great. After meeting a handful of DirtFish employees... they all exude a fun, open, welcoming aura. I can't say enough good things about DirtFish. Its people are TERRIFIC! Its facility and classroom are nice, clean, professional and well appointed. The bathroom had showers and a changing room in case you get too muddy and need to change before heading home. Its tracks and courses are set up to teach, train and challenge you. Its cars are SUPER FUN... their Subarus STIs are rally ready vehicles... with 300hp there's a lot of giddy-up to play with. And play with it you will. I may have missed something .... OH YEA.... The grin that stays on your face for the rest of the day... and quite possibly the rest of the week. Again, if you are "thinking" this might be fun? IT IS! More fun than should be legally allowed for "civilian", non-race car drivers. I don't know 'when' I'll be back... I just know that I WILL be back. Until then... I'll be chanting... LIFT. TURN. BRAKE. TIPS: - You will get dirty... so you may want to bring a change of clothes or at least shoes. - Wear comfy clothes... layers... don't want to be too bulky. - Helmets run big... I was able to wear my ballcap under the helmet to give it a better fit. - Drink water in between driving and waiting... you tend to get a bit dehydrated from all the fun you are having. read more

This was a fantastic experience for a complete newcomer to rally car driving! Having never done any driving outside my daily commute, I was a bit apprehensive to accompany my gearhead wife for the three day program. My fears were completely unfounded as the super-friendly instructors made me almost believe that I was a rally car racer! ...okay, the kind of racer that comes in last place, but still! I wasn't nearly scared of dying that I thought I would be behind the wheel! The classroom sessions were helpful, but I admit I missed quite a bit due to my limited vocabulary of technical jargon, but most of the techniques were rather self-intuitive once you got behind the wheel. I guess it also helped that I drove an automatic, but details, details... I will admit that the behind the scenes tour of the garage bored me to tears, but everyone else looked completely invested, like kids in a candyshop. You do spend a considerable amount of time waiting for your turn (our group of 10 was split in half, and take turns with 5 cars), but I guess this only proved that time really flies by once you get behind the wheel. Oh, and I probably should mention that the meatloaf sandwich was completely worth the price of admission. No, not really, but for a complete beginner, there's plenty at Dirtfish to enjoy. read more

Thanks to Adam, Ted and the rest of the Dirtfish team for a great experience! read more

This place is amazing! We came as Twin Peaks fans and it was so neat to look around. The staff here are the nicest people. We were able to check out the show room, look at cars and race outfits, and take pictures where Twin Peaks was filmed. Ann the receptionist was so nice to take pictures of us and gave our daughter stickers to play with. Our girl loved seeing the dogs and playing outside, and taking pictures with the Twin Peaks Sheriff's cars. What a fun place filled with the best people! read more

What an amazing experience. The entire staff and facilities are top notch, and they treat you like family the entire time. My instructor was Nate and not only did I learn a lot from him (When I actually listened) but he seemed there to make sure I had fun. I think it was great he put my fun before great technical driving as I wasn't going to become a rally driver in one day anyway. Also the facilities are first class inside and out. They maintain the tracks all day long and ensure they are ready to race. That was rather hard since it rained almost all day, but we always stayed dry inside buildings throughout the facility. Even when we were not in the car we had a great time watching the other drivers race around form the hill the waiting building was on. The classroom time was even fun and not long at all. Most of the day you are learning behind the wheel, but the two short times you are in the classroom it is entertaining and never boring. I could not recommend Dirtfish any higher. Get out there and enjoy it! My only regret is not signing up for a three day class and only doing one day. read more

I've spent over $100,000 with DirtFish over the last 36 months. (I have brought 2 groups to DirtFish thus far and will be bringing another 2 more in 2018.) I'm in the experience design business, and they truly do an exceptional job. From the beauty of the property, to the upkeep of the cars, to the quality of the instructors, to the layout of the day... No small detail goes unnoticed. If you're on the fence whether or not to make a group booking, I've told the team at DirtFish that they can use me as a reference. It's a A_ It won't allow me to post a photo of the experience, but this says it all... https://goo.gl/EVADrm P.S: Krissy at the front desk is a gem. read more

I took the 3 day AWD course and I am so addicted, all I can think about is how I can come back. The format of the 3 day class that I took is two half hour classroom instructions (each day) and lots of driving time. You will always drive with an instructor and you swap with another student and have some "off" time. During the off time you can chat with the out of the car instructor to ask questions. The off time is necessary because it's pretty intense since you are very focused. All the instructors were truly exceptional, I can't pick favorites. They all had different styles which is very valuable for learning. Some instructors were more hands on to get you to realize you can go faster and what you are capable of. Other instructors give you some space to figure stuff out on your own and help you analyze your mistakes so you can internalize the lessons. With Michelle, it was fun to have two girls giggling in the car and she got me to feel much more confident and go faster and better with each lap. Ted is like a master puppeteer - you are shocked that your hands and feet are capable of doing such amazing things and he is controlling you with just his voice! Kevin's enthusiasm and cheerleading put me at ease. Andrew reassured me to go at whatever pace I feel (given my horrible cold). Jason was super patient and got me out of my rut when I was having a really slow morning on the 3rd day. Geoff gave me guidance where I needed so I can internalize the techniques. Krissy - thanks for being so thoughtful! I had a horrible cold and she went the extra mile and put a big jar of honey in the student lounge so I can get through the day. Yes, it's expensive, but once you see how the class is run you will understand why. Excellent instructors, tractor fixing the roads, water truck to wet down the track if necessary, and not to mention.... rallying is really hard on the cars! read more

Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. This was the most legitimate fun I've ever had behind the wheel. Where else can you get in an honest-to-goodness rally car with 300 horses, slide its ass out on a 120 degree turn and grin ear-to-ear doing it? The half-day lesson was composed of a classroom, skidpad, slalom and Boneyard. Few basics in the classroom discussing weight distribution, car physics, then a quick shuttle ride took us to the track with our cars and instructors. We started out learning how to swing the back of the car out on the skidpad. After practicing a few times going in a circle they took us to the slalom course to start using left-footed braking topped off with the Boneyard, a mini-course that includes a straightaways to hairpin turns. The hands-on was oh-my-god awesome but the final ride with the instructors going full blast was just as much fun. read more

Quite expensive, but damn is it a lot of fun. I did the 1 day course and had a really good time. If you have any sort of interest in rally cars or even just driving, it's a real treat to go. At the time that I went, they had 10 Subaru STIs all decked out and ready for rally racing (estimated value, $100-$150k). The one day course starts out by teaching you the basics of driving on loose surfaces. They progressively teach you more techniques and by the end of the day, you get to do a fairly complex course they call "The Link". Only regret was that I didn't do a longer class. I was just starting to get the hang of it at the end of the day when we were ending. All of the instructors are very nice and very patient. They clearly like doing what they do and all of them were enthusiastic and encouraging. The other reviews are pretty accurate. I'll just add that if you have any excuse to come out and spend a little money, it's well worth the fun. read more

I did the 3-day course with my buddy and it was a "bucket list" item for us. No regrets whatsoever and we can't wait to go back for more. DirtFish is an amazing rally school with competitive pricing for a racing school. The facility is perfect for the activity: a retired sawmill in the middle of the woods with lots of open space, both tarmac and dirt/gravel, interesting abandon warehouses that can be driven through, and true "forest rally" type roads (which are used for instruction as well). Located in the beautiful Snoqualmie, WA area, this is a rally paradise. The course utilizes the DirtFish Subaru Impreza STI, both production versions and rally-prepped GroupN versions (this is a treat in itself). Students get short classroom discussions before heading out for a lot of seat time. Usually two students take turns sharing one car while an instructor goes with them. When you're not in the car, the students are at an observation point with more instructors who will continue instruction from outside the car. They shuttle you around in a van so you're pretty comfortable and "clean" for a rally experience. In the 3-day course, we covered everything from trail brake turns, pendulum turns, handbrake turns, gravel and tarmac skid pads, dirt slalom, coned dirt course and eventually true forest rally roads. The instructors are incredibly enthusiastic. They have amazing dream jobs so I'm not surprised, but they are also extremely competent and effective. This is Disneyland for budding rally drivers. Before you attend, I highly recommend trying out a local RallyX event in your area, or at least have some experience driving dirt/gravel at speed (like if you live on a farm). Dirt is so different from tarmac that you need some familiarity with how little traction there is on the surface. This will maximize your experience when you finally get to DirtFish, as you don't want to use all your time at DirtFish to discover the most fundamentals of the surface. (IE, if you have a day with an Olympic swim coach, you don't want to spend it learning to dog paddle for the first time.) I seriously cannot think of any negatives. Maybe it's too addictive and you want to go back for more? Awesome facility, awesome vehicles, awesome instruction, awesome sport, awesome experience. Here are some of my video's. Over the weekend, I was one of ten lucky people participating in the All-Wheel Drive One Day Program. To say that I had a great time would be a gross understatement. Even with the passing of two days, the pure joy I found while at DirtFish is still palpable. Being an avid mountain biker, I thought I knew fun. Learning how to drive a rally car took that word to a whole new level. It was challenging, exhilarating, and quite possibly the most fun I've ever had. My driving instructor was Jason and he was awesome. Right away I felt at ease with him, which paved the way for a smooth acquisition of skills. He was clear and informative, providing perfectly timed feedback. His calm energy helped me relax, allowing me to listen and follow his guidance. As he directed me around the track, he was able to praise my every little triumph and slip in constructive criticism for my errors, all without being overwhelming or interfering with my fun. In fact, the entire team at Dirtfish, from Krissy at the front desk, to the crew tending the tracks, all seemed motivated to provide me with an amazing experience. My instructor, Ted, was friendly, knowledgeable and clear in his explanations. Outside, he was fantastic at finding every teachable moment. The pace and timing of the entire program was efficient and smooth. I felt I made huge strides by my final laps. Definitely enough to make me want to come back again! read more

My husband went to a 2-hour Rally class and had an amazing time. It was a quick 30 min. class where they teach you the basics, then you pair up with a driver and start doing laps on the track. The class was 10 people so they went in 2 sets of 5, so he had a short break in between lap sets which worked well for pacing the day. The coach coached him on how to stay consistent in speed so he didn't spin out, and at the end of the class they did a "thrill ride" where the pros took you at top speed through the course. The backdrop of the mountains was beautiful! The course was well-maintained and the gift shop / office / classroom area was top notch as well. Overall it was an amazing experience and hopefully we'll do it again soon! read more

Have you ever done crack? Well, I haven't but I'd imagine it's just as addicting as driving one of these little suped-up rides. I'm not exactly sure what the hell is under the hoods of the bright orange Subarus but I what I do know is they feed on Priuses and emit pure radiation. If you're addicted to Gran Turismo and need a real-life version to help quelch your thirst, this will not cure you. This is like chasing the dragon. Some millionaire guy started this school to get people hooked on this and I'm sure is making more money creating addicts. The guys who work there are pretty badass instructors. If you are up to it, get ready to be drenched in mud, and/or women when they see what an awesome driver you are. (Disclaimer: I came as an observer, bought as a gift for a friend when they first opened. Still won't shut up about the place. It's been over a year) read more

Do you want to do a 4 wheel slide around a turn? Are you a person that wants to learn how to properly race a real rally car? Yes? Then dirtfish is an outstanding place to learn the ''Right'' way to do that. I however am a person that grew up in an area with lots of icy roads in the winter and thousands of miles of dirt roads in the summer. So the thrill of hanging the tail out was a little muted for me at dirtfish. The environment is very safe and the cars get so much grip that you never really get squirly enough for me. It's the same reason I didn't like autocross. 4 wheel slides are heavily frowned upon in autocross. So my low review is ONLY a result of my lack understanding of how professional drivers go fast on dirt. Personally I prefer to go slower with more excitement and less traction. A snow covered empty parking lot is where I plan to go next time I want to drift my car like my version of a rally driver. The school was safe, professional, and very informative. It's definitely worth a shot. The skills you learn may come in handy if you ever find yourself on an icy road. read more

3 of us did the half-day lesson last week. Absolutely amazing. It's an amazing combination of a revved up, hands on, exhilarating experience sliding a 300 HP souped up car around dirt and mud corners, while still being extremely safe. I thought the staff, the class, the course, the whole thing was just tremendous and really well done. This is not a couple of guys in a garage, this is a really well run operation ,and it is tons of fun. After 20 minutes of quick classroom instruction we hit the course. You take turns with half of the class driving, and half of the class watching, with a pro sitting in the passenger seat instructing you. You are driving close to half the time, which is probably about right, any more and you wouldn't have time to digest. My only complaint is once done i was just begging for more. We took the 2 days class, it was incredible, I loved it. Couple pieces of advice, wear comfy cloth, and get the insurance, it's easy to damage the car (you're rallying after all). First day expect to do a bit less driving because you should be learning the tools and methods of rally driving. Whereas the second day was simply a blast, lots of driving, lots and lots of adrenaline. The whole experience is really well run, you get a kick for the money, all the instructors are great (especially Nate, Don and Adam), the whole team is friendly, helping out, explaining everything really clearly. The whole set up is really safe and top of the line. Be aware: this is a lot of fun and can be addicting :) read more

I've been to few different driving schools and Dirtfish is the hands down the best school I've been to in my life! When going to most driving schools, you too often get the stereotypical egos and attitudes that far too many pro drivers have. Plus they often cut you off for having a bit too much fun with their equipment. At Dirtfish I saw such a guest focus, mellow attitude and professionalism that I was floored. They really let you explore the capability of your skills and play hard with the cars. Granted, you have to listen to your instructor but if you do they will get you to progress the right way. Kudos to Winston and the team of drivers that made our corporate event the trip of a lifetime for our winners! I will return in the future, I'm hooked and this is still far cheaper than getting my own rally car! read more

Man this place is such a blast! Probably the most fun I have had in a long while. The way these claasses are setup is so top notch. First we only spent about 30 min the whole day in the classroom. You learn out on the track here. The instructors are so good! I started the day spinning out all over the place and so nervous and unsteady. By the end of the day I was running the whole course fast, drifting around corners and having a blast. Kip is a great instructor if you can get him. Patient and knows exactly what you need to do. Also don't cheap out and share a car. You literally get twice as much drive time and improve so much more going back to back. read more

I did the 1/2 days lesson and all i can say is holy crap, I am coming back for more!! Dirtfish is a crazy fun experience, something that you'll rarely get to do and be able to be lucky enough to find a setup like they have. 310 acres of land out in Snoqualmie, they've got a ton of different tracks/setups and are still building out more! The instructors were great, enthusiastic, explained things clearly and just let you have some fun! I had Nate as my instructor and he is awesome!! We started out the day with getting some of the basics down in the classroom, then out to a practice area. Everytime we moved to a new thing the instructor would first demo, then we would get to try. We did 3 different tracks that day and started to get the hang of it half way through. It started to become addictive and I could feel myself getting more comfortable and increasing the speed...at that point I started asking about the 3-day class. :) The day is capped off by what they call 'hot tracks' which basically means you get to get a spin as a passenger on one of the bigger tracks. The instructors rip around full speed and you get to experience some real rally action. It is frickin' AWESOME. What a rush. I want to thank the crew at Dirt Fish Rally. I'll be spreading the word to friends and saving up to come back for the 3 day course :D read more
