Such an awesome and modern building with a very cool sculpture in the middle. Many young staffers work here so that was very inspiring to see!

With Hart, it is immediately connected to Dirksen. This building was mostly constructed due to the fact that the senate staff exploded when it was agreed upon that each member would be able to hire staff for a committee they were assigned to. The building is beautiful and it feels open. Natural light pours in over the statue in the atrium. With the contemporary style in here, it doesn't feel so institutional. Signage is ample to direct you where you need to go. One thing to check out in here is the designs that could have been the capitol building.

I had the misfortune of being caught with a bunch of GOP staffers who bragged about when they get their way the freedom fries will be called Adolf Frittlers and they will be able walk around in their NRA t-shirts portraying their favorite school shooter, Uvalde seemed to be the most popular. Seriously this was like stepping off into Berlin 1938.....

Not quite sure if this is to represent the complex of buildings that make up all of the U.S. House…read moreof Representatives, or if this is more of a troll type post where people come to gripe about the government. But I will focus on the former of the two. The building complex is rather large and overwhelming at times. Especially since they always seem to be remodeling some portion of it. I have been here on several occasions and have always had to relearn how to navigate. In all honesty, that is the only gripe about this place. But every building, no matter how old/new, needs an update every once in a while. As for being here, I felt honored because I was able to see how it all works. I was able to meet with Representatives and voice my concerns, whether those concerns were listened to and acted upon is beyond me. But if you want something done, you need to represent yourself to your Representative. If you don't speak up, they won't know what you want/need.
