I will never go back to the other place again, For a multitude of reasons , not limited to the fact that they killed my last dog. I had met Dr B's son Dirk Butchko, about 25 years ago . I was delighted to find out that he opened up his own practice. From the moment I presented , I was made to feel important and valued as a dog , mom. I found their prices on some things to be a little high. I found their prices on other things to be more than fair! So overall, it's just like anywhere else.There's good and bad as far as the prices go. As far as the people go, I can tell you that they are over the top amazing , and I absolutely love chrissy!!!!!! I know that there have been a few people on here that have left reviews, saying that they don't appreciate her unprofessionalism, because she calls people, sweetie, or honey. Well , you know what I'll take , sweetie and honey all day , long versus someone who's got a dry sense of personality or acts like a wet rag. My animals are relaxed around her,And that tells me everything that I need to know! I live in anaheim , so it's a little bit of a drive for me. Last Friday I came in because like everybody else. My dogs are itching like mad and I was prescribed a medication Temaril-P ,that I could afford, because I could not afford the shot that was recommended, that was gonna cost me over $500 for BOTH dogs TOTAL. Well, my one dog. Had a reaction , I have Rottweilers , and they weigh over a hundred pounds each that is why the Cytopoint shots would've cost so much. My one dog had a very bad reaction. After communicating with the veterinary staff , they addressed my issue and had me come back in. Gigi is going to be fine. Our Tech Chrissy is just the sweetest, kindest person I've had the pleasure of meeting and just wants me to bring her back in anyway just to see that she is better. It's not a money thing , IT'S A SHE CARES THING !! THIS IS THE KIND OF PLACE YOU WANT CARING FOR YOUR FURRY KIDS ! HECK I'D BE HAPPY IF MY OWN DR. CARED SO MUCH LOL You know, there's an old saying, and it goes something like this. "You can't please all the people all the time ". Someone is always gonna find something to b**** about whether it's because they Were not addressed by their last name , or because a price is too high or because something's not cleaned to their level of expectation or the wait time , hours of operation, or fill in the blank, but I can tell you overall, I absolutely love this. Establishment, I do feel they care about our animals. That to Some of us are not animals, they are our family. Is Pro Vet perfect no, but please tell me who is. Pro Vet does the best that they can do with the resources that they have available to them. There are a lot of people that are in need and they only have two hands. In all the times that I 've been there , which has been a handful now I have never seen them be uncaring to anyone in the lobby. As walk in clients , I don't feel that we have had to wait an exceptionally long time, nor have I ever felt rushed. So ABSOLUTELY I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Pro Vet? This clinic seems anything but professional. Their drop‑off system meant explaining our cat's issue to the front desk, then repeating it to a vet tech, only to be told to leave for an hour. When we returned, we asked to speak with a veterinarian and were told we would never see one. Instead, a vet tech (I'll refer to as Snookums) reviewed the X‑rays and prescriptions while repeatedly calling us "Sweets" and "Honey," which felt unprofessional and dismissive. Here's a "pro" tip Snookums -- for clarity and professionalism, use the clients name when you communicate. Snookums offered vague possibilities with no real answers, seemed defensive, and then handed us a $400 bill. We were also told we could pay extra for bloodwork and stool testing -- diagnostic tests that should have been done before any treatment, especially since we brought a stool sample. The problems with this clinics drop-off model: -- We had to explain our pets problem more than once, which can be misinterpreted once the information gets to the vet. -- They take the pet away and perform diagnostics and/or treatments without informed consent from the owner. -- The only interface with the vet we had was through a lab tech, who cannot legally diagnose, provide prognosis, or prescribe medications and should not be the only person communicating medical findings. -- Operating below the standard of client communication most pet owners expect and deserve. Poor communication, no access to an actual vet, unprofessional behavior, and unclear diagnostics. We won't be returning. read more

I came in a month ago for an ultrasound and found out my 2 1/2-year-old French bulldog was pregnant. In June From that moment, the care and attention we received were exceptional. I drove down every day for a week for a reverse P test, and every visit reaffirmed my decision to choose Pro Vet. On July 13, my dog had a C-section, and everything went smoothly. If you are looking for a top-tier vet, this is the place. They specialize in French Bulldogs and English Bulldogs, but honestly, they do it all. A tip for future visitors: get there early, like super early. This is my go-to vet from now on. I live in Long Beach, and the drive is definitely worth it. My husband and I brought in our sweet Billy, our cocker spaniel who struggles with allergies and scratches himself raw. This clinic doesn't take appointments, only walk-ins, so it's best to arrive early. We got there first, but keep in mind that arriving early doesn't always mean you'll be seen right away--they can only take a certain number of pets each day. We understood that and waited patiently, because we just want the best for our boy. The manager was incredibly kind and took the time to talk with me about Billy's condition. They gave him a vaccine to help with the itching, and we also discovered he was covered in fleas, which was making things worse. Thankfully, they started him on the flea pill they offer, and wow--he hasn't scratched once since! We are so grateful for the caring staff here. Billy finally has the relief he needed, and this will definitely be his vet moving forward. read more

I brought in my female dog for a vaccine. I had both of my dogs with me in a stroller--only she was to receive a vaccine. My other dog is a recent rescue, under six months old, and I brought him along to see how he might do in the clinic environment. He was a little yelpy, which seemed to annoy the front staff. They weren't rude, but they also weren't friendly or welcoming, and we were quickly moved into an exam room. The room was mostly clear but wasn't fully clean. Before the vet tech entered, my dog who was receiving the vaccine found what looked like a syringe cap on the floor. When the vet tech came in, she confirmed which dog was getting vaccinated and then asked me to open my dog's mouth. She did not try to handle my dog or make her feel comfortable. My dog was in my lap and has never had issues receiving oral vaccines at other clinics, but this time she was hesitant. I believe this was because the interaction felt rushed and impersonal, with no effort to ease her into the process. After the vaccine was given, no information was provided about aftercare or what to expect --nor was anything explained beforehand. I was not asked if I had questions or concerns at any point of the process. I had hoped this clinic would become the new place for both of my dogs, especially since it came so highly recommended. The price was reasonable, but compared to the level of care and customer service I've received at other clinics, this visit fell short. It ended up being cheaper, but not better. The Bordetella vaccine was $20. read more

Been there twice and never met or even saw a veterinarian here. I do not recommend this place at all. The receptionist relays info to someone who then relays the issue to someone...........circle of bad practices. Sorry I did not write this sooner. My bulldog was very sick. I decided not to take him to the local vet because they were bought up by a big corporation and only care about money. They charged me 550.00 for an ear infection. On 11/18 /2025 I drove from Chino Hills to Riverside. The first person was the person at the front desk named Rosa she made eye contact and was nice. She did an outstanding job. Next Candra took my dog to have x rays what a great asset to your business she was nice and understanding. The last person was Dr Groza she explained everything going on with my bulldog and was very nice. First whoever hired these 3 great jobs. The veterinarian ( didn't get a chance to get her name it was woman veterinarian) who was extremely rude and had an attitude toward my concerns. The rest of the staff weren't much better, lacking basic courtesy and professionalism. The visit felt rushed and unimportant. I brought my dogs adopted cat here. (Long story on how my dog adopted him). The cat was very lethargic and didn't eat. I was worried it was sick and brought him to get checked out. All the girls in the front were so nice and kind. They helped me understand what was really wrong with the cat. Turns out he took a chunk of his tongue off! Khaleesi (my dog) is very happy her friend (the cat) is doing well. The vet gave him some pain meds and antibiotics and sent us on our way. I was thinking it was going to cost and arm and a leg but everything was very reasonable! They helped me understand a lot about cats and even gave me a few tips and tricks. To help me care for him. All in all great experience! Only thing to remember here is there are tons of walk ins! So be ready to wait a bit. I got there around 1:30pm or so and left about 1 hr later give or take. Which is expected so give yourself time to wait, they will come and assist you as soon as they can. The hour or so I was waiting everyone was doing something and helping so many people with their fur babies. So being patient was key. read more

I am beyond furious with how I was bullied today at Pro Vet Dr. Butchko I walked in today 6/3/24 to give them a second chance because I thought they deserved another chance. I waited 20 minutes to be seen. I came and let them know my dog needed his yearly shots. The Vet came in and threw a file that had my printed yelp review. She DEMANDED I removed my review and if I didn't, they wouldn't help me. I replied to her, "No because that is how I felt that day. " The Karen Vet replied "ok, then you can't be seen here " then denied me services. The staff and the vet are incredibly rude and dismissive. It's obvious that they don't care about their customers at all. This experience was an absolute nightmare, and I am disgusted by the way I was treated.
