A colossal waste of time, money, and effort. Advertising on Etsy has proven more profitable with a CTR 800% higher and a CPC of only 60% compared to Direct Placement. Add in the constant high pressure to leave them reviews PRIOR to any services rendered along with more pressure to recommend them to your friends plus even more pressure to buy additional services should have been a red flag. Even after canceling my credit card and receiving an email from them asking why they couldn't charge my card for more services, they then claimed to charge the card and issue a refund as a "favor" to me. No receipts. No record of any account activity from my bank No activity was reported to the credit card company. Genuinely bizarre billing. Do yourself a favor and download DuckDuckGo, StartPage or switch to a VPN. read more

I've been working online since 1998. I'm quite good at SEO, but when it comes to getting a handle on Analytics and paid search, I just didn't have the time to keep up with it. Enter Direct Placement, which at first I thought was just another company claiming to be my "Google Representative". They must've said something right, because instead of hanging up on them (which is what I normally do) I gave them a shot. That was a year and a half ago and I couldn't be happier. They. Are. Awesome!! They charge a small fee on top of your expenditures with the search engines, and REALLY appear to pay attention to my business. I get detailed monthly reports on traffic and conversions, along with a description of actions they took on my behalf and suggestions for improvement. Communication is easy. Cost is reasonable, particularly when you're able to compare it to sales! As for the few negative reviews about this company, Looks like they were a few years ago - maybe due to overly aggressive sales people? Not sure. They have been doing this for a long time and had great insight and were willing to work with me. I only wish they had called sooner. EDIT: A day or so after I sent in my cancellation notice I received a call from Jason, the Operations manager. He very kindly and patiently took me through the system and showed me why my ad had not been showing up - it was actually a google snafu, not an issue with the company's work. Jason was very understanding of my frustrations with the lack of communication from my sales rep (and let me know the issue with the rep had been dealt with) and offered me a full refund or the chance to continue my contract with them with an extra month for free, since my needs were not met this first month. He provided excellent customer service to the extent that if I go back to sponsored ads, I will reach out to Direct Placement and see how they can help me. ******************************************* It is unfortunate to have to write a poor review, but the experience I have had with Direct Placement forces me to to preserve the time and energy of other business owners. I was contacted by the company to facilitate SEO optimization and was excited to discover that the keywords I was looking for were significantly less expensive than several years ago. My sales contact did a very good job of explaining everything to me and setting me up. I was promised (and it is written in contract) that I would be contacted within 7 days to see the results of their work and verify that I was properly placed on the first page of Google. I heard nothing for 2.5 weeks, and my site was not showing up. So I reached out to my contact to find out what happened and was told I would be contacted in a few days at the latest. Well, that time has come and gone as well. The good news is that Direct Placement is very affordable for SEO. Tragically, this is completely irrelevant if you are pulling out your funds for a service that apparently does not exist. I have worked with this company to get two websites, (one a retail nail file site, and the other a vacation rentals directory) on the front page of search engines. At first I was confused because it's not SEO, but paid search internet ad marketing, like AdWords. It is paid marketing, but I like that there is not a long term contract, so I can pick my own keywords, monitor results in real time, and make changes to increase my ROI over time. This company cold called me more than once about my website and my business. I told them I wasn't interested in advertising and finding more work and they were pretty rude about it. They told me "I can't remove you from a call list, I just found you on Yelp", which is a pretty backwards way of refusing to stop contacting me. The guy (Matt) was sort of a smartass about it. I don't know what these people sell, exactly, but they should reconsider the way they conduct business and adjust their demeanor to be less aggressive and rude. read more

Nothing I was promised happened. I only rarely saw my ad and yet was told there was NO downtime on my ad. I ask for a report two weeks after the ad began and NEVER received a report.. I cancelled on the date I was told by the sales rep Matthew, but when I called he wasn't there. The front desk required I submit a cancellation letter which Matthew later said wasn't required at all, and then told me it was too late and they would cancel after the 2nd month. I sent messages that I wanted my ad cancelled immediately, but was charged $150 for a second month. I again requested a report which I finally received. It showed only 5 clicks over two months and yet the ad phases were supposedly the most popular phases used for my business. I don't believe the ads were up but for a fraction of the time, requests for reports weren't met and they charged me for an extra month. A total of $354 for nothing. This is a bad company read more
