Huge thumbs up for these guys. I was up in Stillwater from Norman taking my sick dog to a vet specialist. It was an all day affair and I had my 4 month old son with me. As I was driving through town I noticed a thunking sound coming from my car and pulled into another tire location to have the lug nuts tightened. In reality, I didn't need them tightened, I needed them replaced!! 3 were completely missing and the remaining 3 were hanging by a thread. My son and I were extremely lucky we weren't seriously injured or worse on the 1.5 hour drive up to Stillwater. The tire shop guy didn't have the tools to address the issue, so he sent us across the street to Direct Discount Tire. Joe, at the front desk, immediately helped me when I explained my issue. He said they were totally booked up, but that he'd make some phone calls to see if anyone else in the area could help. A few phone calls later and no luck - so Joe said he wouldn't leave me (a young woman with a baby who knows nothing about cars!) high and dry. He moved some work around and was able to get me out of there in an hour and a half. I am so so grateful for Joe's help!! read more

This is the absolute best tire shop. I have brought in multiple cars to get their tire fix and every time they help me with efficiency. They know exactly what they are talking about and I trust them to do whatever they think is best for the car. They are able to fix all my crazy, unpredictable, never even heard of tire issues. I had a flat and a bent rim right before I was about to go home for winter break. I was just gonna try to go to Texas on the flat but they told me that was unsafe and did everything they could to fix my tire so I could get home safely. My tire was fixed and made it all the way to Texas and it is still going strong. The customer service here is impeccable. I typically will drive from Texas just to get my tire fixed here. Took my girlfriend's vehicle in for a new tire and alignment, spent significantly less than we had anticipated because their service manager Joe and mechanic Scott took care of us despite being brand-new customers! Joe did everything he could to lighten the financial burden of the work we were doing, and Scott went above and beyond fighting the alignment and car computer on our 2020 Honda Civic (they're notoriously impossible to align without a $350.00 part addition). However, despite the odds and lack of those expensive parts, Scott was able to get the vehicle aligned close to specifications which was a lifesaver for the tires! Hopefully we won't need anymore work done soon, but if we do, they have our business! read more

Not much bad to say. I was on my way out of town back to OKC and noticed my TPMS light come on after driving through a construction zone. I quickly pulled over to see the extent of the issue and noticed on Google that I was only a block away from Direct Discount Tire. I was greeted and helped immediately. I won't be going back, for the following reasons: 1. [Long waits] Every time I entered the store, it took 10-15 minutes before anyone would speak with me. This is not an exaggeration; I checked my phone. Even when I called, I was placed on hold for 10+ minutes. I finally hung up, called back, and was dealt with immediately. Why? 2. [Defective parts] I needed an old hub assembly (HA1) replaced. They replaced it on Saturday morning with a new one (HA2), but the mechanic drove around and found the part was defective. So they replaced it again on Saturday (HA3). On Monday, my ABS light came on, so I took it back and apparently the part was defective again. So I had to leave the car overnight and they replaced it again (HA4). The mechanic blamed O'Reilly. The only reason I didn't give a one-star review is that they only charged me once. 3. [Gross fish tank] The fish tank is a nice idea, but the fish are way too big for the tank and it's not cleaned very well. Some of the fish look close to dying and are missing parts of their body due either to disease or other fish feasting on them. And, there is green mold/slime/??? growing all over the glass. Gross. **UPDATE** This is in response to Garth's comment. The 10-15 min wait that I experienced (before anyone would even talk to me) occurred not on Saturday, but on Friday and Monday. Been trying to order wheels for my daughter's Christmas gift for 4 weeks. Apparently no one employed there knows how to return a phone call, only one person knows how to order the wheels, and tries to up sale your choice by saying they are cheap. Went in during hours on Saturday 12-18-202, waited 10 minutes to be help. And when finally asked for help the guy was rude and could less about my business. Went in to get an alignment a few months back and they are great guys. Definitely very busy and took a minute to be helped, but that's not a big deal. They even went through my suspension and tightened things up for me as I did the alignment myself. Very good guys. read more

They charged me $300 to fix my air conditioning. And they kept telling me about an hour more all day. After leaving the car all day they finally told me it was fixed but it was not. When I called the next day they told me to replace the fuse. That still did not fix the problem. Also, turns out my belt was about to snap and they didn't even mention that let alone ask if I wanted to fix the potentially dangerous problem. I took my Kia to Mike's Automotive. MIKE'S fixed both problems in a day. And Mike's told me up front how much time it would take. I'm never taking my car ir truck anywhere bur Mike's Automotive. read more

My worst nightmare happened... I got a flat tire with my infant son, and no one could pick me up.. at 5:30 pm!!!! I called around Stillwater to see if anyone had a tire for my vehicle, and I kept getting turned down. My car has a tire that no one seems to carry on hand....As I was going down the list, my hopes were getting heavier... My last phone call was to Direct Discount Tire, and it was with a gentleman named Garth. He was more than accommodating! He had one of his off the clock employees come to my rescue since they were so short handed, and AAA couldn't tow my car for at least an hour and a half. He came to jack my car up, take my tire, went to re-rim a new one, AND brought it back to me! My vehicle was back to working in 30 minutes. Terrible service. Had a flat tire literally right beside the tire shop. Was told they cant help me. But they could sell me tires to put on the rims by myself.. we were going to buy all new tires while we were at it. so since they "couldn't help us" we put on the spare on and went to firestone to have 4 new tires put on. read more

Absolutely terrible service. Went to have a tire repaired from a nail. Not sure the name of the guy I talked to at the front desk but I had to approach him I was not greeted or acknowledged for the first 10 minutes I stood there. Then he was extremely rude and talked to me like I was an idiot. Mind you I have had plenty of experience with tires and vehicles my whole life. (Should've walked out the door then) 3 hours later they call to inform me the tire is unable to be repaired. I have them put the donut on, get to a different tire shop, and they took my old tire and left the rim in the trunk!! Never asked me if I wanted to keep my previous tire. The "ruined" tire was then patched at a different tire shop within 20 minutes no questions asked. They are scamming people into buying over priced tires they don't actually need!! Took 5 hours to get an oil change and tires "rotated." Told me the rotation and alignment was free due to the wait. When I checked the tires myself, they were not rotated. The front driver rim was marked and still in the same spot. So basically waited 5 hours for an oil changed that takes me 20-30 min myself without a lift. read more

I have had very good service at this store. The owner is a kind man and filled up my tires with Nitrogen, free of charge! I got my oil changed there and they only charged me $15.00 bucks (I took my own oil and filter)... This places has screwed us over more than once. A number of times we have gotten quotes from them that include things we "need," and then our second quote (usually at Carlile, on Perkins) is way lower and they say we don't actually need the thing Direct Discount told us we did. Like the other reviewer, we are also now boycotting them. read more

Took my car in to get my tires replaced and realigned. The price was fine but the service was AWFUL. They told me they where unable to do the alignment because I was missing my "inner tire rod". (You can't drive a car very well if at all if you are missing one). After they told me this they said they refunded part of the payment because they couldn't perform it but that they will be keeping some of it (somewhere around $60) for diagnosis fees and that they will keep it as a down payment so that I can get the alignment after the tire rod was fixed. About a month later I take my car into the dealership to get my tire rod "fixed" and they say there is nothing wrong with it and performed the alignment. The charges I would have been looking at to get my tire rod fixed was around $800. This place is trying to take advantage of customers. I do not recommend. 0/10. read more
