I want to let other Cab users know how appalled I was as a father that Direct Cabs never bothered to pick up my daughter and her friends on New Years Eve outside a pre arranged place in Belfast. My daughter and her friends paid their £20 deposit and she left her details and exact timings and pick up location, she automatically thought the driver would call and let her know if he/she was on time or delayed getting to them. I have no reason to doubt that they would not be at the pre arranged location. Both my daughter, her friends and her friends parents have several phone calls made to Direct Cabs with little or no response. Come 0135 on New Years Day they were ringing the taxi company and were basically hung up on or fed insufficient information from someone who seemed to know nothing about running a taxi service, this was done on more than one occasion during a 30 min period. Luckily they were able to find an alternative way of getting home at yet more cost, I find it hard to believe that a well established taxi firm has been able to operate in this area for so long. In my opinion its probably down to the shoddy way in which the business is ran that they are most likely cutting corners and making more excuses as to why they should not pay peoples money back. I fully understand that it was probably the busiest night of the year, but that should be no excuse for earning a fast buck. I have been given far to many excuses in the past week from the company and have spoken to several operators from the firm who all seem to have no idea on how the firm is ran or what system is in place for customer complaints. This issue with direct cabs has led me and my family to source other more reliable taxi firms around Lisburn. I am sure there is more customers out there who have had the same shoddy service from this Rickshaw business. Please Please, follow my advise, pick a more reliable service from a taxi firm with good customer relations. read more
