Worse customer service and phone system I ever had to deal with. The sad part is I am an insurance agent since 2001 , I actually am set up with both Allstate and Direct General. I was told I would get a refund for a premium that was cancelled due to an accident 3 days after I got the policy, Its been 2 months no refund. I have had a very unsatisfactory experience. So much so that my mother is taking the 3 car insurance policy to another company. My first call was with Janice who was rude and treated me as if I was bothering her from the beginning. Additionally, I could hear noises of her muting and unmuting me. Direct Auto bought out SafeAuto so I was switched automatically. I had them for JUST ONE SINGLE MONTH.. before the scams began. Absolutely do not use this company.. they're atrocious. 120 Minutes Is A Lie (AWARENESS) My vehicle broke down on November 30, 2022, on the turnpike coming from Leesburg around 5:00 pm. I called Direct Auto for towing. They were unable to assist until about 6:50 pm. I spoke with the young man at 6:58 pm from Enzos Auto Transport I never got his name. The Driver just got the work order, and then I was told, ma, I got you. Send me your location. Do you have an iPhone? I called back around 8:00 pm he said it would be another 45 minutes.The Driver came at 10:40 pm and then dropped off the vehicle around 11:30 pm at the mechanic shop. I asked the Driver could you drop me off at the address he showed me on the phone or close to it. The Driver said no, he needed to work. I was hoping since it was late and everything was close time, he would drop me off at the location where he would be able to take me home or drop me off in a safe area. I walked to Wendy's call for a Lyft to take me home; it took 10 minutes. I am sharing my experience with so many people who will look over other people for money; their life isn't worth bothering with, or for unjust reasons. The wait time is 2 hours; when speaking with the Driver, he stated 45 minutes, then I called Direct Auto after he didn't answer the call for 40 minutes. Being a woman stranded, especially at night, is terrifying. I don't know why the Driver needed to lie about the time; if he had been honest, then I wouldn't expect him before then. False hope is cruelty. The Driver looked at me as if I should have been grateful for the tow discrediting my demise. I am thankful that I am alive. One hundred twenty minutes is a lie. It took the Driver 3 hours and 44 minutes to assist. Every life matters, and every towing is essential. The Driver needs to know that--horrible service. Nevertheless, Direct Auto hired the towing CO, which I found is a personal business with one Driver, the owner. I called Direct Auto around 5:00 pm for a tow and received a text that a towing CO name Express Roadside LIC would be there in 45 minutes. After waiting for 30 minutes, I called a young man had stated; I don't have a work order for you. Direct Auto made another call. The young man said we are trying to find someone to come. We will call you back. I received a text from Enzos Auto Transport 120 minutes at 6:44 pm. After waiting for one hour and forty minutes, I called Direct Auto. A young man stated that the wait time is two hours, and it hasn't been two hours, yet you have 15 minutes. I called back in 15 minutes. A young lady apologized for the wait time after I shared being lied to by the Driver. She reminds me of the 2-hour wait time. However, I waited much longer, including the first towing CO, who didn't come. I pay an additional premium every month for towing. Just like Enzos Auto Transport only have one driver Direct Auto a huge company appears to be in the same boat with very few drivers. I spoke with Don Jackson, the Supervisor of the towing service. After giving my complaint, refer me to call Customer Service at 877-463-4732 stating you are making valid points, call them and let it be known. I was confused because the number he gave was Direct Auto, and he was the towing supervisor. It felt as if nothing was going to be done after calling Direct Auto Customer Service. I hope you can help; no one should ever go through what I went through. The Cons of Direct Auto Towing Service There is a 45-minute hold time when calling for a tow. 120-minute wait time is undoubtedly a lie. I had waited for a total of 5 hours and 22 minutes on a dark turnpike. There is no bathroom on the turnpike. Holding my bladder creates internal damage. My side is still hurting from holding my body fluids (Cruelty) In 2020 I used the towing service Express Roadside Lic cancel. I had to use another towing Able Towing and Roadside Lic. Why is Express Roadside Lic still doing service for Direct Auto if they are picking and choosing who they want to assist? 2 years later, treating customers as if they don't matter. Direct Auto doesn't have enough towers. Enzos Auto Transport did tow my vehicle but at what expense? I was lied to about the wait time several times. Direct Auto advised me after two and half hours of waiting for the second Driver to call the police if I felt endangered. Leave my keys on the dark turnpike and call someone to pick me up. Call another towing Co. I had said after waiting this long. I might as well wait because it will be another 2 hours or more. Direct Auto towing stopped answering the phone. I called my Sister to do a two-way call. After holding for 15 minutes, I disconnected,t but my Sister had for another hour no one answered the call. She was livid. It was after 9:30 pm. The cell phone doesn't last forever. Between the numouros calls and hold time, my battery was low. I was terrified of not having any connection on the road. Yes, another 1 star rater here who had the misfortune to deal with this scam operation. As with other postings here, I was with e-surance for several years and they sent a notification that they would be discontinuing policies in California and recommended Direct Auto. I got a quote for a 6 month policy for about $2,400 which covered my wife's Prius and my Infinity. We had been paying about $1,800 before with e-surance I looked around briefly and saw most quotes in the same range so I took this policy with the intention of shopping for another policy by the time this expired. Then we got a notice in the mail from Direct Auto for another $1.550 claiming that they needed the exact amount of miles driven for the prior year or we would be charged this to keep this policy active, I had given them our odometer readings when signing with them but it wasn't enough. How in the hell am I going to know what the odometer readings were more than a year ago? I looked at Progressive as recommended by an in-law and got a 6 month rate for both cars for $1,700 and WITH BETTER coverage. I cancelled the remaining 4 months of the Direct Auto policy and am relieved. A month after cancelling this policy, they sent me a bill for another $10 for who knows what.
