Additional tourists also strolled in, and the owner seemed surprised! I'm assuming they are not aware they are on Yelp! Everything is in French, and the lady of the house was so nice. She brought out her iPad to help translate the menu! Her grandson also was running around and tried to help us translate! We had a bottle of delicious white wine. Definitely order the jamon and melon. The melon was like it was picked out of her garden! We then had the skewers and potatoes. Delicious. They added Brie to the skewers, so it was a melted, cheesey plate of goodness. We had so many incredible, Michelin, award winning meals while in France. But this little restaurant with its homey feel, delicious food, and wonderful people will be the one we remember !

Beware of a really bad experience and keep on walking…read more We knew it would be a tourist trap but honestly, we did not expect it to be this bad. Perfect location in Epernay, I'll give them that. That's the one star. We ordered pasta bolognese, salad Nicoise, Chèvre chaud and a tuna sandwich as a starter. The bread in the sandwich was fresh and the whole sandwich ok. Then came the mains and all was lost. I've never had a worse salad Nicoise. Frozen veggies, canned tuna, corn, old blackened eggs and such a disgrace to everything called food. And this in France, home of the salad Nicoise... I complained and actually got a full refund of the salad. My husband was to hungry to complain but his Chèvre chaud was just as bad. The pasta could have saved it but flavourless and with over cooked pasta there's nothing more to say. If you find yourself at this restaurant: stand up and leave. There is nothing that could be done here to improve the restaurant. Walk 15 more steps and pay a visit to la Banque. Great food and a great experience.

Starting with la soupe de pommes de terre which is a potato soup that the waitress brought us (the soup was on the house!) I have never tried a better potato soup in my life to say the truth. With our entrées they brought bread to the table. I ordered le Pauvé ay Poivre (which is a steak with pepper). It's a bit spicy because of the amount of pepper on the steak but it was a different flavor I had never tried before. I LOVED IT. The steak was soft and juicy. The plate came with a salad and a choice of fries, sautéed potatoes, and string beans. I ordered string beans-- they were delicious! Last but not least for dessert was le mi-cuit au chocolat. Being a sweet tooth, I. LOVED. This. I'll stop now please see for yourself.
