I don't need to be friends with the antique guys. Their stuff speaks for itself and I prefer to walk around in a nice peaceful environment. They do listen to good music too.... I have to give them 5 stars because all-in-all, this is one of my most favorite antique stores in the whole area (Chicago included).

It's right on 9th near The National - FYI, 9th is a one way street so you may have to go up 10th for a block and loop back around. The name on the door is "BC Modern Furniture" and they're open Fri-Sun from 10-4. In addition, they run estate sales and host one day flea markets so check their website for upcoming events and sales. If you visit the store, know that it's mostly mid-century furniture with some same era collectables thrown in. It's not a huge place but it's very, very well curated. This is some of the nicest looking vintage furniture I've seen in town - lots of sideboards, dressers, end tables and some truly glorious sofas. Prices are commensurate with the quality - a big 2 piece sectional sofa with immaculate original upholstery was in the $600 range. That said, they're willing to negotiate so if you see something you love, have the conversation. The Mister grabbed a fun Maifest stein and a vintage German decor mag from 1964 for $10, so we left happy. They are adding things all the time so if you're trying to up the hipster cachet on your sweet Bay View bungalow definitely check them out.

Some sort of unifying theme to the entire place that gives you a sense of what goods you can find there and if the shop fits the aesthetic you're looking for. Farm Girl Antiques has a vision, and it's right there in the name. The shop is decidedly feminine and cutesy. The shop itself is sectioned off into these little "rooms" that make it feel less overwhelming to sort through everything. The staff is also very friendly and eager to help if you are looking for something specific. The prices are very reasonable, especially the artwork.
