I hired a manager for a year to help me with my tenants because I had a very demanding and argumentative tenant. Shortly after I had given over the building to a manager, the tenant decided to move out and the manager found me a new tenant. I had a very difficult time with this constantly complaining new tenant and as soon as the tenant stopped paying rent, I called Dignity Law Group! The secretaries in the office were friendly and helpful but the best was Joseph, the attorney who took my case. Joseph spoke to me in a caring way and handled the eviction so efficiently. I worried that things would become complicated when he told me that the tenant wanted a jury trial. I was relieved when the jury trial did not happen, and the tenant vacated the apartment precisely on the day as Joseph told me that the move-out would be. Joseph is a saint, he took over my four year custody case and got my daughter back. The opposing attorney was an unscrupulous shark who played a textbook scorched earth strategy, through over litigation. I couldn't afford to pay my previous attorney anymore, who just quit on me. I cannot recommend Joseph Kellener strongly enough. Here are a few of the items he has helped me with: 1. Joseph was able to apply the law and get serious charges dropped for one of our former sober living clients, (saving her 12 years in California) while she was incarcerated in another state. He literally filed the correct motions which they ignored and forced the DA to vacate her charges and dismiss her pending cases which carried mandatory 12 year sentence!! His knowledge of the law is unequalled. 2. My girlfriend neglected to pay a couple of tickets. They had languished in the system for two years or so and when she finally asked me to help out with it, I called Joe. He was able to get both of them dismissed when the DMV wanted over $800 per ticket to do the same thing. again, knowledge of the law and system, played a key part and saving us that money and saving her from moving violations on her record. 3. This is my favorite one. It was the most painful but it's where Joseph really shined. He went up against some Ivy League Beverly Hills attorneys representing one of those high-end apartments that look nice, but are horrible to live in. We were in a dispute with this group over the quality of our lives during a long-term lease. They had even filed a restraining order against us for emailing them complaints! And I'm not talking about crazy complaints, I'm talking about a fight that broke out between two non-residents in front of our apartment door at 1 AM which resulted in one of the combatants being stabbed. We complained about this and they filed a restraining order against us to complicate and retaliate against the litigation we had recently began. Joseph mopped the floor with these people. They thought they were so clever. They thought they were just gonna manhandle us and run us over. They played every dirty trick they could, dragged the case out as long as they could, and in the end, we prevailed without trial and they wrote us big fat check. But the most resounding quality that seems to be a theme, which Joseph Kellener is the personal care and attention. He gives to his clients. He's not flashy, he's not arrogant, and he doesn't talk down to you. He's a regular guy that does great work and gives great advice. If you've got a legal problem, you should book a consultation. I hired Joseph for 2 separate landlord cases. One we settled 2 years ago and he got a great settlement, about the best we could get for the mold issues and personal injury. He has a second case of mine also with mold and retaliatory eviction. Joe is very sharp. I saw him in court handle a case before I retained him which is why I ended up retaining him. He had the judge's respect, and he was aggressive and direct with what he was requesting and the judge listened and honored his request. I am having an issue with my Landlord and I looked online and found "Dignity Law Group" after reading all these good reviews I figured I would call them for help. I first spoke to Sergio explained everything that was going on. Sergio said he would talk to the Lawyers and call me back said I had a good case and they would be able to help me, this was on Monday. Next day didn't hear from anyone so figured I would call just too see if they could still help me and to check if Sergio talked to the Lawyers, was told Serio wasn't in the office. I called back on Wednesday and spoke to Joseph was told he was one of the Lawyers and was aware of my situation and would call me back said "Don't worry we can help you with your situation as soon as you get served call us, in the mean time I'll start on my end. Now it's Friday, never heard from anyone on Thursday so I called on Friday just to see what was going on and to let them know I got served but I was told Lawyers were in a meeting but would give the Lawyers a message to call me. Today is Monday I finally get a call after waiting a whole week and no call from anyone to let me know anything, only thing I'm given is a 1-800 phone number and told to call that number and ask for Help that The Dignity Group could not help me. A whole week of waiting for help just to finally get a phone call to tell me that the Lawyers at Dignity Group can not help me no reason given just the 800 phone number. I have Never in my life ever experience anything like this from a Lawyers Office. If you need a Lawyer too help you DO NOT CALL "THE DIGNITY GROUP" in Van Nuys on Sylvan St. They will ignore your calls and when they do get back to you after waiting a whole week they will pond you off to someone else.
