This small cafe is nestled in the petite town of Newstead, part of the winery and spa boutique areas surrounding Daylesford. It's closer to Castlemaine, which is served by a V Line service.

Lunch had a menu with a few choices of sandwiches, as well as a specials board that included pasta, lamb, a vegetarian curry, a risotto dish and a few other items.

I was able to sample my curry dish, as well as the linguine, the risotto and fritters made of pea and haloumi. All the dishes were light and fresh, and the portion sizes were good.
The venue itself is quite cute, and has a good lookout over the main street, diagonal from a local hotel. The toilets were clean and the place was obviously kept in good shape by people who cared about where they worked.
