After my first and only visit 2 months ago, I requested my records and I found 11 inaccuracies,…read moreincluding 2 medical diagnostic codes that make no sense...2 codes that have never pertained to me in my history or Dr. Repas' evaluation, and are now in my medical record. Also, he failed to notice my decades-old limp, writing that I had "normal gait and station." He also failed to check the range of motion of my joints, yet wrote in my record "no localized joint stiffness" when the truth is I have had severely limited to zero range of motion (depending on the angle) for decades in both hips. He made many other smaller errors. I made a second appointment so that he could finish his evaluation by checking the range of motion of my joints which he did not do at my first visit, and to correct the other errors. Nurse Tina called me and said she was cancelling my appointment and I am only to speak to the admin/HIPAA staff. Then Dr. Repas denied my request to correct my record in a letter I received from admin staff today, saying his records are "accurate and complete!" Dr. Repas did not even send the letter himself - he had Bob Scarlett from Admin send the letter - Dr. Repas cannot even be bothered to write to me, let alone finish my evaluation and check the range of motion in my joints. After speaking with Jennifer Bernhard, HIPAA Privacy Officer, she said she blames the 2 incorrect codes on the coding staff, saying the doctor is not responsible for his own codes on his own records and nothing can be done! Who ever heard of a doctor delegating diagnoses to a coding clerk??? Nurse Tina admitted she saw me limp into the office, but refuses to acknowledge the inaccuracy of Dr Repas statement "normal gait and station" saying that is between me and Dr. Repas who will not communicate with me in person, on the phone or in writing. Admin/HIPAA staff advises me to write a letter of disagreement to be included in my records. Oh, gee, thanks. HIPAA law states that providers must correct their inaccurate records. Is Rapid City Regional or Dr. Repas liable for damages related to their completely inaccurate records? As a side note, Dr. Repas was sanctioned by the state of Wyoming's medical board in 2003 and he entered into a Consent Decree on May 5, 2003...hmmm, I wonder what that's about? He did have his license reinstated after continuing education per http://wyomedboard.state.wy.us I recommend calling the WY medical board and get the full story before you see this incompetent and arrogant osteopath.

Michelle Wasson, CHAPA-C is my provider as well as the provider for my son and my significant…read moreother. For the record, she is NOT a nurse practitioner, nor is she a doctor or a physician. She is a PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT. The CHAPA-C actually stands for Certified Child Health Associate Physician Assistant. What this means is that she actually went through extra training/testing for the child health associate piece. She was a nurse first and still caries the compassion and empathy of a nurse with her into her practice. She has over 18 years experience as a Physician Assistant, I believe. Although some would like you to believe that it is as easy as paying $450 and taking a test, it's not. PA's and NP's have to go through rigorous education programs and hundreds of hours of clinical rotations. Once they achieve their degree and certification, they have to do so many hours of continuing education every year and PA's have to retake their exam every few years. Besides all of that technical information, Michelle's bedside manner is unlike any other. When she is in the room with you, you know that you matter. She takes the time to listen to you and to your concerns. She makes sure that you are in agreement with whatever is going to happen whether it is lab work, x-rays or something else. She includes you in the plan and genuinely listens to your input. She tries to find ways to get you medications as cheap as possible and is very knowledgable regarding community resources and financial assistance. I trust her more than I've trusted any other provider and I'm so happy that she sees my whole family.

I had ocular plastic surgery at the Same Day Surgery Center in Rapid City, SD and had Joseph Carda…read moreas my anesthesiologist. Having been VERY sick after my last surgery there, I was ambivilent about using them again. This time, they gave me meds to counteract any nausea before surgery, and I explained to Joseph that I had a negative experience with the last anesthesia I was given there. Mind you, I do not have this experience in hospitals with anesthesia. Well, this time, I had a lot of trouble even coming out of the anesthesia. They gave me narcan to take down the effects of morphine given, but it did no good. My oxygen levels were very low, and they wanted me to stay there for a couple of days, but we did have an O2 concentrator at home and a pulse oximeter to check my oxygen levels. I wanted OUT of that place. I hurled my food after eating when I got home and was sick to my stomach for days. It took 2 full days before my oxygen levels were normal, so I didn't feel comfortable taking my pain meds, and I desperately needed them. I was miserable and will not go anywhere that uses West River anesthesiology. I had them at Same Day Surgery when having a hysterectomy and got very ill after surgery. They kept me overnight and I was restless and broke out in bumps all over my stomach and back. I was on oxygen throughout the night. I am absolutely terrified to ever use any of their anesthesiologists again after 2 very negative experiences. I don't trust them.

The doctor I saw is very good, however the prices for services are absolutely ridiculous. 2 visits…read morefor nerve block injections which take no longer than 30mins, usually 15 minutes, costs $699.80 according to my last bill. My advice is to start asking providers what they charge and if they don't share, go somewhere else. Will be finding somewhere else myself.
