Starnberger See is absolutely beautiful! It's the first place I've seen swans in real life (other…read morethan at Disney Land - sad, I know). I visited in August so it was still quite hot out and there were a lot of people here. My friend and I couldn't find parking so we had to park on the street outside. The experience will differ depending on what side you're on I suppose but there was a lot of little benches around the grassy area and you can sit on the ledge by the water or on the dock. I somehow stepped on a bee so I stood on the dock stairs with my feet in the water for a while. It was really refreshing. There's also a restaurant with a LOT of beach chairs and even tables on their own little dock. It's nice and relaxing. Perfect for hanging out with your friends, family, or going on a date. Definitely recommend coming here if you're in the greater Munich area.

I…read morewent in June and the weather was gorgeous, I got the train from Ostbahnhof as far as the lake and it didn't take too long. I went for a walk, took it easy and I also grabbed something to eat at a restaurant located near the lake. The day was super chill, there weren't that many people around and I'm looking forward to going back again

The area is beautiful and quiet and surrounded by lots of forests. Would love to come and explore this area more. Lots of walks in Kamoot you can select in this area.

This was my second time going to this campsite. I really like the fact that they have a couple…read morespots that are pretty private compared to the usual parking lot style camping you find in Europe. The only hiccup was we called to reserve the spot we love and when we got there it was taken. Luckily there was another one like it for us. The lake is warm and well-kept. The bathroom facilities are okay, but not great. You have to pay extra for hot water, but that is pretty normal. The best thing is it is under an hour drive from Munich, but feels like you are in the woods somewhere. I would definitely recommend, but not without a car!
