Long…read morestory short, my dog started acting weird from a certain kind of medication that another vet clinic gave him and it was a Saturday afternoon and the original clinic I took him to was closed. Dierenklinkiek de Wetering was still open and agreed to take us in right away to check my dog's vitals. Thank God they did! Turns out my dog had a severe allergic reaction to the medication. The vet here recommended that I kept a close eye on my dog that day and had forwarded all of my dog's health charts to MCD (Medisch Centrum voor Dieren), a 24 hour pet emergency hospital, in case I had to bring him in that night. Luckily he did, because I did end up bringing my dog into the emergency room. Really think my dog could've died if it weren't for this clinic. They really helped save his life. After this incident I continued to bring in my dog and foster dog here for other check-ups and the vets and their assistants have been nothing but a pleasure to work with. Patient, kind, and gentle with the animals and with my questions/concerns. The front desk staff is also great and friendly. Really gives me a piece of mind to have vets I can trust and rely on.

it's hard to find natural dog food in amsterdam. most places sell the usual Science Diet, Eukenuba…read moreand other mainstream brands sold at Dobey or other pet stores. this place sells the harder to find natural brands. they also have fridges full of frozen raw meats. You won't find any treats that look like PLASTIC here!!! the staff is also very friendly and you can start a punch card here too. they also have a small selection of toys and other dog accessories but i would say their primary focus here is canine nutrition :) this place is in the outskirts of amsterdam but so worth my bi-monthly bike ride out there!

So I found this vet. The appointment was easy to make over the phone. To be honest I enjoyed this office more - front desk girls are friendly and attentive. They really cuddled Chief when he was going under the anesthesia, I felt confident to leave him with them. When I picked him up, he had Hollywood smile, both white and because of drugs :) 250 euro for the cleaning. I enjoyed the care here and lot so I transferred our records to this vet.

I very much appreciated that they managed to fit me in between appointments and they were very pleasant about it. I know how unpleasant things can get when you come in without an appointment. Anyway, my dog has been having stomach problems lately so I thought it a good idea to have her checked out though I had no specific plans as to when. You know, I was hoping the problem would just go away. Regardless, I was in the area so I decided to take a chance and see if they could fit me in. The girl at the counter was very pleasant in reminding me that usually you have to an appointment but today was my lucky day. I only had to wait five minutes or so for the doctor to finish up with the previous appointment. Then the doctor checked her out, gave her a shot, gave me some medicine to give her along with some special food all in the space of a few minutes or so. I was then told to contact them in a few days if there was no change. Admittedly, I expected the bill to be high seeing as I'd come in without an appointment, my dog received a shot, I was given medicine and I was given special food. But much to my relief the bill was a lot lower than I expected. Woohoo, Thank you very much!!!

We were recommended to their office as I was worried about finding a new vet in a new country and didn't really know where to begin especially as we had been going to ours back home for a long time and had a built up a good relationship. The results were good, he doesn't have arthritis but still the reason for limping is not known. I got back again to have his nails clipped it's €8,50 But if they need second technician to hold him down the price will double. Of course you can offer yourself to make it cheaper. The nail clipping did not go well. They were cutting it too short he was bleeding. I had to hold him down. I said stop when the third claw was clipped and blood was dripping. I don't think it was professional service. They do it much better in San Francisco

The previous time I came here to get the same exact things for my dog (plus a trim), the groomer took care of it and I was told to pick him up in 15 minutes. The cost was €34.75. When I went the most recent time, they took me and my dog to a exam room and I thought it was strange. The vet came in and starting cutting my dog's nails and made him bleed! She did that to THREE of his nails! She then used some hot iron thing (which I've never seen before, since it's usually the kwik stop styptic powder) to stop the bleeding. When I went to pay, they charged me €43.50, the price for an exam. I questioned the receptionist and she said I had to pay the full amount me we saw the vet. WTH. I was so confused. Then I explained that my dog has the same things done to him last time, if not more, and it was with the groomer. They refused to budge and insisted that I had to pay the full amount. Then one of the receptionists said, "Oh yeah, you called yesterday. Oh my bad, I thought you wanted to see the Vet. Next time clarify that you want to see a groomer." WTH. Why would I need to see a vet for something a groomer can do? My dog was perfectly healthy and fine. And if you had told me that I was going to see a vet I would've clarified. I paid anyway and left with my dog. In less than 5 minutes, I had to go back to the clinic because my dogs nails started to bleed again! This time the receptionist used the styptic powder to stop and bleeding and it worked right away. UGH, will never step foot in here ever again.

They were very friendly and helpful to me and my two doggies. The doctor is excellent and very caring. He spent so much time with Amos and Kendall I was worried about the next appointment after mine. Turns out, they cleared plenty of time for us - not like at home! His exam room is very spacious and bright with windows. It even has a view of the canal! Very nice office with everything you need - they also test the blood right there while you are with the doctor. The prices are reasonable. Great for expats! Super safe location off of a major road but tucked behind a restaurant and fire department. Double doors to enter so animals can't escape by accident.
