So, when it was time to buy a home last year I called around to some independents and got several quotes. Burkhart had by far the most to offer as far as plans and had the best pricing and customer service. I spoke with the owner originally and he helped guide me to the best policy for me. I ended up bundling to save on moola. Fast forward to this year when I got in a auto accident. I received multiple calls from Burkhart and from my insurance provider, Safeco, to not only check on me, but to help guide me through the process. I had many questions and they followed up with answers and really made my life as simple as they could. While I do love dealing with this Agency, let's hope that I have a good year coming up and wont need to call them for anything!

Following my complaint today, he set up another appointment in almost 2 WEEKS. I doubt he shows, and why wait about 2 weeks to respond to an unhappy customer. From my mother who is a senior citizen: An employee from this State Farm office called the first of the week to say she wanted to come out and visit and go over the changes to my homeowners policy. I was elated that finally I was going to see and talk to a real live person. She called yesterday to say the owner told her it would be much easier to give me the info over the phone. The owner is the individual who made an appointment on two separate occasions in two different years to come and visit when I complained about never seeing anyone from the office and then having his secretary call me the day of the appointment and cancel. I told the girl who called yesterday that I was disappointed that she wouldn't be coming b/c it was really important to me to go over the info with someone face to face and a phone conversation wasn't acceptable when I've been a good customer for over 6 years, have always paid my premiums on time, and have never filed a claim. She suggested I visit their office. I told her I was the customer and I wasn't going to drive to her office when I needed answers. I mentioned the two previous cancellations I received when an agent made arrangements to come and visit only to receive a call from a staff member a few hours before they were to be at my home. I told her that clearly the distance between their office and my home was a problem and I therefore planned to find an agent/agency nearer my home.

Best-Walker would do well to screen its employees and agents for professionalism before hiring…read more When I called the company last week to request cancellation of services, the person who answered the phone refused to give me her full name, her contact line (just the main number) or transfer me to a superior to help me when my own agent (who came from another agency and has been wonderful for over a decade) was on vacation. After her refusal, she hung up on me. When I called back and I protested about being hung up on, she replied, "You aren't a customer here anymore, so your complaints will fall on deaf ears...I'm not afraid of you." She then hung up on me again. If I had known that switching agencies due to a nearly 50% savings in premiums (nothing personal) would result in such rude and unprofessional treatment, I would not have chosen Best-Walker in the first place.
