100 check-ins later, I finally write a review about this yoga studio. Perhaps this is the way to show that my review is reliable?!?
Let me begin this by saying that Die Yoga Station (DYS) is targeted more for those who want to do yoga as a form of exercise and less as a spiritual journey. Of course, yoga intrinsically has a spiritual component, but that's not the main focus of the yoga classes here (i.e., no mantras here). Also, DYS is a hot yoga studio, so this means one will sweat (in my case, a lot!). With this said, if you are looking for a yoga studio to learn/seek spirituality, DYS is not for you. For me, DYS is perfect as I do yoga as part of my exercise regime (if I have one...).
The studio is situated inside a building complex, so it is amazingly quiet. One never gets disrupted by sounds of cars, unwanted noises, etc. The studio, changing room and carpeted yoga room are overall clean and comfortable. The amenities there (just complimentary tea after class) is a little sparse compared to other studios, but one doesn't miss it after a while.
I'm very pleased with the variety of courses DYS offers now (back then, it was only Bikram Yoga, which can get dull after a while). Bikram Yoga is still the main type of yoga taught here, but they also teach an advanced Bikram course, hot vinyasa, yin yoga, and sometimes special classes to focus on one part of the body (arms, legs, stomach, etc.). The teachers are mostly helpful and demonstrate many postures for one to understand better, and that's certainly a lot more than what I've experienced in yoga studios in the US.
The classes are taught primarily in German, but foreigners need not to worry, the teachers can explain some things in English.
+1 year later, I am still regularly going there, so that must mean a good thing? read more
