There's really nothing I love more than wandering down a Parisian sidestreet that I know little…read moreabout and discovering an atelier where gorgeous things are being made.
Add to that a propped open door, an inviting owner, adorable, delicate, hand-made objects on display and for sale and I'm in heaven!
This small ceramics workshop/boutique is owned by Madame Garrigues, a lovely woman who designs and makes all of the ceramics by hand by herself. She's obviously very skilled technically but has a fabulous, modern eye for color and shapes that infuse humor and light into her work. Her simple but very spirited collection includes pastel colored spoons, lattice-worked plates, tiny cork-stopper flasks, and even super thin light fixtures.
The prices are very reasonable: I picked up a little flask that I plan on using as a tiny vase for 20E that is just too cute to be true.
She also does weekend workshops for anyone who wants to learn how to make their own ceramics.
Typically the door is closed while she's working but she said it's ok to knock on the door and she'll let you in to explore and shop.
