I do not want my children to grow up and have elements worse than they already do. This market has been amazing and has provided us with a way to enjoy a meal as a family while still being able to make things that our children are going to eat as well. This place has provided things that are hard to find sometimes that other markets, but they were nice enough in hand enough to order things without charging us or anything so I really happy with their service.

We drive up & down 19 all the time & this has become our favorite place to stop for fresh Lobster & asian produce. It's a super clean store with a fantastic fresh fish market inside that actually smells great. Absolutely fabulous fish market OuiOui. You wouldn't think there is a fabulous fish market here with tons of giant fresh Lobsters flown in every week, but surprise surprise OuiOui. Tons of fresh Lobsters. They have three tanks. The small ones are in the bottom, the 1-2 pounds, the 3 to 5 pound ones are on top baby. OuiOui. They also have all kinds of Fresh fish, Grouper, snapper, sole etc. Fresh crab, clams, shrimp etc. They also have a full Asian grocery store with all the usual ingredients to make asian food. They do not have a HOT foods bar but they do have fresh produce & fresh medicinal herbs like Rau Ram. "Rau Ram" is an Asian Herb, it's Viet coriander/Asian Cilantro. It's slightly peppery, aromatic, fabulous with spicy fish tacos. Fish Ramen. Lobster ramen. moi fave. You can eat it raw. You SHOULD eat it raw. I chop it up & toss it in my salads/soups/tacos. I also steep it & use it as a tea. I mix it with other herbs like clove & dandelion. It's moi #1 fave detox tea. (You CAN buy supplements of Rau Ram, I prefer to make my own culinary dishes/tinctures with it) It's an excellent medicinal herb, widely celebrated in various Eastern medicinal systems for its potent healing properties, anti oxidant, anti aging & super nutritional benefits. Mostly it is associated with rejuvenation & vitality. It's my most secret weapon. It def helps to alleviate inflammation & enhance energy levels, but it also promotes cognitive health & is also excellent for vision/eye health bc of the several B complex vitamin's it provides. Rau Ram is LOADED with essential vitamins, vitamin C, as well as the several B-complex vitamins that are crucial for energy production, immune function & tissue repair. It also contains the vital minerals, potassium, calcium & magnesium. Wildly revered as a natural botanical tonic & when incorporated in moi culinary & medicinal practices, it bridges seamlessly all ancient herbal wisdom with modern scientific research. Most people are not even aware that modern GMO foods do not provide the essential vitamins & minerals we all need to survive much less thrive. So, if you like cilantro, consider incorporating this extremely important herb into your diet. You will love the results. If you love Fresh Lobsters, fresh fish asian style, HL Asian Market & Rau Ram should be first on your shopping list.. Make it your secret health weapon. OuiOui. Highest Recommendations.

The grocery offers most everything you'd want from a pan-Middle Eastern grocer: dry goods, teas, frozen food, fragrant waters, syrups, canned goods, et cetera. They also have a good selection of baklava and other treats by the front counter worth checking out: they get different sweets in sometimes--always baklava but sometimes also namoura cake and other things. When they have sari burma it's normally excellent, so look for that as well. They also have a good spice selection and try to include a lot of Turkish and Persian speciality items as well (this include Turkish frozen goods and yes, the pudding mixes also). The restaurant portion is a buffet and they have a hot bar and cold bar. The hot bar has traditional Egyptian foods and was very good when I tried it while the cold bar has things that could also be taken away like hummus, salads, and babaganoush. You can get the hot bar to-go as well, but having things like hummus is a big deal because you can purchase enough to have on hand for the week. I hope the restaurant continues to work out for them: buffets only make money if they have a lot of customers, so I really hope the community supports this fine establish and wonderful people who own and run it.

Very pretty place and environment .Very quiet and friendly. Not too expensive either.read more

I love Russia and Russian food--in fact, I am involved in a lot of journalism and research…read moreregarding Russia, the post-Soviet sphere and related politics and business issues professionally. So the mere concept of Gainesville once again having a Russian grocery store was very exciting to me. However, while I admire their spirit, the store is very small and the inventory--at least for now--is rather limited. I worry that they won't make it because they have a much smaller inventory than the "Europe" grocery that occupied two local locations prior to apparently going under. While Russian Food--as this store is plainly named--has some non-Russian Slavic foods, it's mostly Russian. Moreover, it's lacking on some expected Eastern European goods like high-quality Hungarian paprika. Its strength is on Russian candies and other sweets and they have a good selection of Russian loose-leaf teas, too, though they were lacking a brand I really wanted. Still, they only opened I think a month or two ago and while their space is small, maybe they'll get more goods in soon. The tea and chocolate I bought was good, too: fresh, authentic, and tasty. I'll certainly go back.

And so I went... I recommend picking up some of the Japanese Rice Crackers in any of the flavors. You can ask the cashiers where to find the senbei and there's an entire isle devoted to these snacks. I enjoyed the togarashi (red chili pepper) senbei, but they come in all flavors, shapes and sizes. Very addicting and terrific to satisfy that crunchy, savory and umami craving. Definitely look for them... The other items I specifically came here for were the Croley Foods Buttercream Crackers. Again, ask the ladies at the cash registers as a lot of the products are not in English. They will gladly lead you to that section and answer any questions that you may have. Great customer service... I picked up all of the Buttercream flavors that they carried here [including the Buttercream Original, Ensaymada, Ube and Leche Flan] in this particular brand and absolutely love the thin, crisp, lightly sweet crackers. I highly recommend them and having them in-stock in your pantry for whenever guests drop by to eat while sipping on some coffee or tea. Overall, the store is very clean and they do offer a ton of hard-to-find Asian snacks that are high quality and very unique. They are pretty organized and it's like a treasure hunt discovering new and interesting products. It's a great resource for those who frequent Asian markets. Definitely go here.
