Bloomington-Normal doesn't have many sporting good stores. I personally don't know if any other than Dick's but I know that doesn't mean there aren't more. The few times I've shopped here, I walked out empty-handed almost every time. I mostly go there looking for things I can use at work. I carry a lot of stuff. I was able to find huge book bag for a decent price. It's made my work life so much easier. They only carry rifles so you'll have to go elsewhere if you want to purchase a handgun. I was hoping since they had rifles I might find a molle magazine holder for rifle magazines. I needed new tactical boots for work. A coworker told me how comfortable the Under Armor boots are. I checked out Dick's for them. They carry one set of Under Armor boots but only had 6 inches. I'm required to wear 8 inches. The worst part of the store is exiting if you didn't buy anything. You still have to navigate through the checkout lane area. If the checkout lane is busy then it's not an easy exit. I tried the entrance doors to see if they'd register me standing there but it didn't work. Luckily someone was coming in so I walked back out the front door. This store sucks I went in to buy multiple pairs of Nike tennis shoes there was a gentleman in the back by the shoes were asked if he could help me find what I was looking for he told me they were up on the wall and walked away so then I waited my turn for the little girl that was running ragged because her boss wouldn't help and she was the only one on the floor it took me over an hour to get three pairs of shoes actually I ended up buying four pairs of shoes if I would've known the customer service was going to suck so bad I would've done it all online!! read more

Store seems to always be disheveled. Guys in hunting and fishing are very nice and knowledgeable. Other employees will walk right past you and not say a word. Check out is a huge hassle. 6-7 registers but have never seen more than 2 open. Hate standing in line that long to check out. read more

This reading is based on my situation not necessarily this location. I ordered work boots for my son on the 17th and they showed In stock. I never saw an issue except when the estimated delivery date came and they still showed ordered. I called dicks customer service number was told to call back the next day. I called back the next day and still no change it doesn't show that it shipped and the agent requested the vendor look into it and I was told to wait 48 hours. I wait 48 hours ago back in and it shows my order is canceled I never see any email stating it was canceled it was just canceled and the reward that I used was of course not put back in. I called in today and the agent was very helpful but I still do not feel any satisfaction in this that I had to spend an extra almost $30 for these boots I have no guarantee that they are even going to be in stock because the last ones I could order and I cannot even get expedited shipping because it's not available on these boots. The agent was very helpful I will say that that is the only reason I'm giving a three in the situation but I feel like more should've been done because this was not something of my doing my son has destroyed his tennis shoes in the process of waiting for these Boots to arrive and I still have no guarantee I have to wait another five days to get the boots and that's if they show. I am not happy the agent gave me 300 points great all that means is that I'm gonna have to spend more money at Dick's in order to utilize that so really it's not helping me so much as giving business to Dick's which I really don't want to do right now.
