I recently had my daughter's 3rd birthday party at play and everything went great! Everyone had a…read moregreat time. The facility provided a party hostess who helped me setup tablecloths, decorations, plates, and cupcakes on the cupcake stand. She helped serve drinks, brought out the pizza, and helped everything go smooth. Then she helped me pack away the leftover pizza and cupcakes at the end. Overall it was a great experience for what I'd say was a fair price. I read the review about the child getting stuck in one of the inflatables and I want to say that my daughter also got stuck in a certain part of one of the inflatables but it was meant for bigger kids and I knew she might get stuck so I was ready and just went in myself to go get her out. No big deal. The certain area was meant to deflate and was part of an obstacle course for bigger kids. The inflatables were properly inflated during my daughter's party and same every other time we've been there (5 times). Side note: the pizza is actually amazing and I'd go eat pizza there even if I didn't have a child! Lol

The bathroom, was just as worse. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days! It was obvious they have let that place go. With Covid still around you would think they would disinfectant but nope you could just see the layers of filth! I wish I would of asked for my money back. I was only there 20 minutes and left!

Very windy the time we spent here but sites are spacious and some not level at all, but all wort effort. Many very large rigs can hang out here and chill, bbq, and fish. Great spot! Texas did it again! Great spot. We pulled in on first come first served basis. And hikes in park too!

We looked around Houston and everything was booked or rained out! So we found Goose Island and it had decent reviews! We decided to book a campsite for one night- our campsite was 201. When we arrived my goodness!! I've never seen so many deer - one minute outside of the park, there were about 5 deers hanging out- not scared of me or my car or the noises. It was beautiful! When we entered the park, we first was looking for our campsite and drove in many circles- it was in the "wooded area" so it was a bit hard to find! When we arrived it was around 3pm And we started setting up camp. I am thankful the parking was right in front of the campsite but also that whole area I think 201-204 Is shared. I was lucky it was Christmas so no one else Booked the area next to us but it wouldn't have been as fun if others did! We stayed overnight- everything went well as planned! One thing I didn't like the restrooms were driving distance or a longer walk away but this was an amazing weekend getaway for us! In the morning we checked out the pier area. It was nice and very different than our campsite area! Highly recommend this park even for a daytime park!

If you go when it's hot, bring water. Mosquito repellent is also a good idea but if you forget it, it's sold in the visitor center. When you pay for admission, you get an arm band and a crude map. We wished the map was better. At least one part of a pathway was under construction, so we ended up cutting through the playground to get back. While called a botanical garden, this place is equally good for seeing birds, insects, reptiles, and other animals. Admission is very reasonable, so it's a great place to bring the kids. In the visitor center there are small caged reptiles. If there's an attendant, you might be able to pet a lizard. A blue-tongued skink was out while we were there. There are other animals in large outdoor cages, including several beautiful macaws and lizards. There is a winding path that takes you to a variety of areas on the property. Some areas, like orchids and butterflies, are within enclosures while most things you'll see are out in the open. Along the path there are a couple of elevated observation decks and lots of descriptive signage. There is an unshaded play area. There are several purple martin houses, which are fun to watch. We had hoped to see some hummingbirds in the gardens, as there was a hummingbird area with feeders and flowers they generally like, but the heat was perhaps too stifling. All in all, we found this to be a great place to visit, weather permitting. If you happen to be a member at another AHS garden, you can get in free.
