I want to preface this review with this, to date, I have never felt inclined to take the time out…read moreof my day to go online and write a review for a business, especially a negative one. However, my experience with Quality Tax and Accounting, and Dave in particular, has been one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a business. I was referred to Dave, the owner, through family several years ago. The first 2-3 years I used this firm were relatively smooth. However, over the past 2 years, things have gone completely downhill. On December 3, 2025, I contacted them about amending my previously filed 2024 return because several items were incomplete or inaccurate. After 3 follow-ups, I finally received a response on December 16. Misty told me Dave advised her not to do the amendment and stated, "If your new accountant has issues with the return, he should be the one fixing it." After more back and forth, they agreed to do it. I paid them specifically to complete this amendment, and on January 14, 2026, I provided exactly what needed to be changed. From February through mid-March, I sent several follow-up emails. Every one was left unanswered. On March 18, I finally received a reply apologizing for the delay and telling me the amendment was now something only Dave could work on and would have to wait until after tax season. I explained that I could not proceed with my 2025 tax filing until this amendment was completed. On April 1, Dave finally replied stating he was going to work on it and would contact me that Friday for approval. No call ever came. I was then scheduled to meet with Dave at 8:30 a.m. on April 22 to go over everything. The afternoon before, I happened to email some additional information and said I looked forward to meeting the following morning. Misty replied at 3 p.m.: "We are not having the meeting in the morning sorry Dave has it all figured out." Had I not happened to send that email, I would have driven 45 minutes to their office the next morning only to find out they had decided to cancel my meeting without notifying me. On May 11, after weeks of ignored follow-ups, Dave texted saying he was working on the amendment and would call me. As usual, no call, email, or follow-up ever came. After several more ignored messages, I received another email May 19 saying he was working on it. On May 21, more than 4 months after I provided everything they needed, I finally received the amended return for signature. Even then, the address was wrong -- something I had asked them to correct for years in their system. Then, on July 13, I received a letter from the IRS stating the amended return could not be processed because required information was missing. Dave told me he would look into it. He never followed up and stopped answering my texts, emails, and calls. On August 3, Misty finally called and essentially told me Dave had advised her to hold off on doing anything further with it. So here I am in mid-August. Eight months after this process started, an amendment I specifically paid them to complete has still not been successfully completed, I have received no refund, and my 2025 returns have not even been started. This is just one of many examples I have of the complete lack of professionalism, communication, and competence I have experienced working with Quality Tax and Accounting over the last 2 years. I cannot begin to count the number of hours I have wasted calling their office, writing emails, sending texts, and asking for updates, only to repeatedly be left in the dark. They may be cheaper than other tax firms, but if you value your time and want someone responsive and competent handling something as important as your taxes, I would highly suggest looking elsewhere. I have been beyond patient and given this office the benefit of the doubt countless times. This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with any business, across any industry. Think very wisely before choosing to work with this company.
