The location is great in Northeast Heights. It's easy to get in and out of. The receptionists helped me so much with finding the right dental plan to provide coverage for the treatment I needed. I had to get two crowns, and I go back again Monday, and in all honesty, this was so much easier than I thought it would be. I've had a crown before, but it was a very painful procedure. All of the stuff that I've dealt with there has been wonderful. As for today's visit, DR. K. ANTANI, checked on me all the time to make sure that I wasn't in pain. The staff is very compassionate. Monica was great! They offered a teddy bear, a warm blanket, and a few other things for comfort. They have warm towelettes that day use to wipe your mouth when you're done. If I went into details, I would run out of room to write but I have to say, I love Napa family dental.

I first went to another…read morelocal dentist and after taking x-rays and a picture, he proceeded to tell me I had decay and needed a crown. I was suspicious of this, so decided to get a second opinion. I went to a second dentist, where the hygienist recommended Dr. Boehemer DDS as the expert to care for onlays. Already that was a great sign that an employee at the second dentist office would vouch so highly for Dr Boehmer. Dr Boehmer does not take my insurance, but my gut told me I would not regret paying the difference for the chance that I may be able to preserve my tooth and avoid a crown. I am so glad I listened to my gut! Dr Boehmer and they also took x-rays, and checked my tooth and the tooth next to it for decay. She also said that there was enough tooth structure that a new onlay would be an option if needed, but that a crown was not necessary. Ultimately, she determined that all I needed was for the tooth to be cleaned and for the same onlay that became loose to be cemented back. I also must mention that the first dentist I went to charged my insurance more than Dr Boehmer, even though all they did was x-rays of the one tooth, took a picture (not sure why a picture is necessary since he can just look at my tooth directly, and show it to me with a mirror like every other dentist), and apply a temporary cement. What a ripoff! Dr Boehmer is very knowledgeable and experienced, she aims to be conservative in her treatments, avoiding aggressive treatments that may be unnecessary. She is very pleasant and professional, and same with all her staff, who were all very polite and professional and friendly. The office is clean. I cannot recommend Dr. Boehmer enough.

3 stars because the DDS is good (although arrogant)…read more - 2 stars because the office manager is nice unless you have the audacity to expect to have a say in what the DDS does on each visit. I was a patient with this DDS for about 2.5 years. I left her practice after her receptionist told me I was 'difficult'. When asked why they considered me difficult Kristy told me that I was not following their treatment plan. So basically, clients' wishes and priorities are not respected. Well here is the rest of the story. The DDS kept trying to get me to do 2 unnecessary crowns because they were big ticket items. I had a very good insurance that provided rather generous coverage. I never used my whole allotment of available coverage and I believe that was the reason they basically fired me as a patient. Went I went back to my original dentist in Illinois (a man who has been my dentist for 40 years) he confirmed that I did not in fact need the 2 crowns. Also, I had chipped my front teeth a small bit and I kept asking the DDS to fix the chips. She wanted to extend the length of my teeth. She literally told me that my teeth are too small and they make me look old. My original and current dentist fixed the issue for me in 15 seconds. He gently used a rotary sanding tool (dental) and viola my chips were taken care of - without charging me!! He also did some bonding on my upper teeth near the gums which I had asked Dr. B to do but she never did. Dr. B. never listened to what I wanted to have done, and this is just not right. Dr. B is a pretty cold fish too. She takes a bit to warm up. My impression is that she is tired and would like to retire. She is thee 4 days a week.

Food was impacting under the gum-line causing swelling, bleeding and pain. The situation was so bad that even watermelon or soft boiled eggs would find their way deep into the gums. To Whom It May Concern,…read more I am writing to file a complaint about the unprofessional treatment I received at your Dr. Dental location on Juan Tabo during my recent visit with my granddaughter. When I arrived, I provided a permission letter authorizing treatment for my granddaughter's molar. The front desk staff member, Mary, questioned my letter in a rude and dismissive manner. Instead of speaking to me respectfully or simply verifying the information, she made the situation uncomfortable and acted as though I was doing something wrong, even though I followed proper procedure. I was there to ensure my granddaughter received the care she needed, and the way Mary spoke to me was unnecessary and disrespectful. I am requesting that this issue be addressed and that staff receive guidance on how to communicate with patients and guardians in a professional manner. Thank you, Toni Gutierrez 505‑610‑5215

My Mother got $12,000 worth of veneers at Dr. Kerschen's office. She was excited about getting…read morethem until the moment she saw them in her mouth and they were stained grayish yellow. She has bad vision and told him she just wanted them to be a pretty white, but not blinding. Dr. Kerschen didn't take the time to show her the proper shades, instead he sent her to the veneer maker and they gave her a limited selection of shades to choose from with little to no direction or consultation based on her wishes. Dr Kerschen completed all the work before giving my mom the opportunity to see the veneers in her mouth. The situation only got worse when she stepped outside and saw how stained they looked. Why would anyone pay $12k for a complete set of stained teeth!? She was upset, but didn't know what to do after her complaints fell on deaf ears. Within a few months three of the veneers fell out on three different occasions, once while vacationing out of state. Dr. Kerschen fixed them and appeared to recognize what a terrible color they were. On the third fix, he told my mom he would replace her set for her with the desired shade of white. My mother was very excited to hear this and did not end up complaining about how unstable the veneers were. Which must have been his goal since he never followed through with his promise. My mother may be elderly, but she has a family who loves her and doesn't appreciate when she is taken advantage of. The entire experience looks a lot like exploitation or opportunism at the least. We would appreciate it if Dr. Kerschen would put the white teeth in her mouth that she wanted and paid for. At this point we would prefer blinding white instead of what she got, coffee stain grey/yellow. How many other mothers has Dr Kerschen treated like this? Trust me, I'd much rather be sending them client recommendations vs a bad Yelp review.
