Family Practice Center of Wadsworth - As you can see, this email makes no mention that I needed to confirm the appointment or face cancellation. In fact, it says the opposite!

I have been going to the Family Practice Center of Wadsworth for 30 years, and I have always been…read morehappy with my treatment. All the doctors are fantastic and really care. They are very knowledgeable and take their time to make sure the treatment you get for whatever is ailing you is right. It's super easy to communicate with my doctor through their app, too! That's great for me when I think of something late at night, which I usually do! I just can't recommend them highly enough!

I had an appointment scheduled for this morning. On the 23rd, the office called me to ask standard…read morepre-appointment questions. I wasn't home at the time, but I heard the voicemail and was asked to call back. When I returned the call the following day, the office was closed for the Christmas holiday. Then it was the weekend. I assumed this wouldn't be a big deal and that I'd be able to answer the questions in person at my 8:50 appointment this morning. Today, I walked in and the woman at the front desk informed me that the appointment had been cancelled. "Uh, no," I said. I'm a student and I live out-of-state full time. This was my only chance to see a doctor on my parents' health care plan (without a co-pay) while home for the holidays. No way did any of us cancel the appointment. "You didn't verbally confirm the appointment so we cancelled it," the woman said. "It's our policy." Funnily enough, this policy was never communicated in the voicemail I received, in the email correspondences I received (attached here for your reference), or at any point other than this morning. If that's really the policy, fair enough. Make that clear to your patients so we can act accordingly. I asked to speak with someone else, hoping to explain my circumstances. This second woman was incredibly rude. She said: "You need to find a primary care physician in the state where you live. What are you going to do if you have a sore throat?" First, how is that any of the staff's business? Someone at the front desk of a doctor's office is not going to tell me about which doctors I should see and where I should see them. She doesn't know anything about the number of doctors in my area covered by my out-of-state insurance. Completely inappropriate. The staff was rude, unprofessional, and overstepped boundaries when conversing with me. The practice policies are unclear and poorly communicated. The front desk is supposed to function as a face for the practice itself, and if this is any indication about how the practice treats its patients, perhaps it is for the best that my appointment today was cancelled. I had a choice about which doctors to see, and I specifically chose Wadsworth Family. I will not choose them again.

As a mother and a human who gets sick or has a sick kid, I am no stranger to calling the doctor…read moreoffice first thing in the AM, only to get turned away because there are zero slots open for the doctor to see you/them/us/we. I am so thankful that a second AND MUCH LARGER urgent care opened up in our town. For a while there was only one and if you are reading this and live in town, I'm sure you know of the only urgent care we had, deep inside Buehler's. How nasty it must feel to be grocery shopping with a minute clinic right in the middle of your shopping experience. Also, around the corner from a restaurant and smack dab in the baby section. Ew. The minute clinic is overflowing with sick, coughing, people. Obviously, but also a stone throw from folks bagging their groceries. I felt terrible for walking in the door, but it was the only options I had. See why I am thankful for this new Cleveland Clinic Urgent Care at One Park? This facility is in its own building and found on the third floor in their own office -- just like a normal doctor's office. The office in the center of town, a good proximity to anyone living in Wadsworth. No need to enter a grocery store with a runny nose, pass a bunch of healthy people grocery shopping and gawking at you, only to sit in what feels like a small closet with a grumpy and overworked nurse. This is my second trip to the urgent/express care. The check-in process is fast, they take most insurance, the waiting room is large and clean, pleasant staff, and the waiting process isn't long at all. In fact, the times I've been, I've been the only person in the office. The nurse works quick and the doctor pops in within minutes for results. They can run tests, are understanding and compassionate and able to send prescriptions to your pharmacy of choice. Perfect. Go here. Get treated. Thank them for being in town. Get well.

My name is Sara Neiswinter and yesterday my fiance and I went to Wadsworth Express Care &…read moreOutpatient Care. I was severely mistreated by a nurse named Matthew Hurosky. He made disturbing and inappropriate jokes and comments about my body that are absolutely shocking and out of line from a medical professional. I have a long history of depression and self harm. I do not self harm anymore but my arms are covered in obvious, old scars. When Matthew Hurosky went to take my blood pressure, I took my short-sleeved, bare arm out of my coat and he immediately noticed my scars and began to make disgusting and disturbing jokes and comments. He said "Whoa, what are those?!" in an inappropriate, over-dramatic tone. I was immediately EXTREMELY uncomfortable and I said "I used to self harm." He grinned and started laughing and asked "Oh do you do that when you get mad at him?" He nodded his head towards my fiance. I glanced to my fiance in complete shock and we both shook our heads and said "No." At this point I'm horrified and severely humiliated. I couldn't make eye contact with Matthew Hurosky but ANYONE with eyes could see how uncomfortable I was, and Matthew Hurosky couldn't help but CONTINUE to make another disturbing comment at my expense when he said, "It looks like you've been keeping a tally of all the times he's upset you." (Again glancing to my fiance) When Matthew Hurosky said this, he took his finger and pointed to a large patch of scars I have on my upper arm, as if to insinuate that because I have so many scars there, my fiance upsets me or mistreats me a lot. What is most disturbing to me is that 1) this is A PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR, and 2) Matthew Hurosky is acting completely inappropriate with patients as a healthcare professional. God only knows what he has said to others that they haven't reported because they were also humiliated and embarrassed like me. This is unacceptable on so many levels and Matthew Hurosky, as a medical professional, should carry himself in a respectful, professional manner. I was severely mistreated, I cried to the doctor that came in after Matthew Hurosky left and explained to her what occurred, and was crying hysterically on the car ride home. I felt demeaned and humiliated. The thing is, THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME. He made similar comments 1.5 years ago when I went in but I was so embarrassed and humiliated that I chose not to report it. I will never be returning to this clinic because I do not feel safe there. I am leaving this review to warn others about Matthew Hurosky. I have filed a complaint on odh.ohio.gov and I hope this is taken very seriously.

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Peters for over a decade. Being an expert in Internal…read moreMedicine, she really focuses on adult problems and care. We love the data based approach to keeping track of our health based on our personal baselines and monitoring for changes over time. Her attentive personal touch endears her to us. We are 50ish, and we love that she's not way older or way younger than us. So she can identify with other aspects of our well being because she can relate to some degree. We've always had positive experiences with her care and ability to address our needs. Someone posted something negative about the office or appointment processes. While it is her office, we feel the need to separate the two. The quality of care is most important. It would be great if the online scheduling had more near term availability, but we know the best way to get in quickly is to call. Otherwise if you're on online creature, you can get something out into the future if it's not urgent and you are able to wait 6+ weeks. The staff is friendly and will do their best to meet your needs. And they seem like they're always trying to make improvements on that front. But the care has always been outstanding for us.

My appointment was at 1:30, and since my husband and I live close, he was able to drive it over my physical liscense, and I had the card in the nurses's hand by 1:38. I hadn't even finished the second page of my paper work it was so fast. They still wouldn't let me have my appointment, and I left in tears, unsure what to do as I had a uti, and needed this appointment. Honestly, when doctors often make patients wait 30-40 minutes, and this doctor can't even excuse 8 minutes, I'm glad this won't be my family care doctor. Please avoid this doctor at all costs.
