How in the world did the person ringing him up not notice this..and the many pulled strings hanging off it. My guess is they did and choose to ignore it being he was a summer tourist. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and gave the place a call. A very heavily accented young lady told me that her boss's would call me back in about 30 minutes. After 5 hours, I called again, and this time I did get a call back with the promise of a replacement or refund next day when the owner was in the shop. So my review is based on their customer service and the quality of an item they carry. 4 for customer service 1 for quality of item

I don't dislike e-readers, but there's no comparison between browsing in a real bookstore and browsing online. This store has an amazing selection of books and you can tell that what they choose to sell is carefully done. You're not going to find the trashy beach novels that you can get in the book rack at CVS. This is a store where they carry books that appeal to people who love books. They also have art supplies, which came in handy when I needed some stuff to do a little painting out there. I wish I had a store like this on the mainland in my town. I was walking around town and popped into her shop. I had my dog with me. She is only 25lbs and extremely well-behaved. She is also a certified support animal and legally, is allowed to go anywhere with me. Block has always been an extremely dog-friendly place and I've been coming here every summer for over 20 years. Nowhere did I see a sign that says dogs aren't allowed in the shop. I usually ask first anyway but I couldn't differentiate between employees and customers when I entered. She came up to me and in a very rude tone, told me "no dogs allowed." I immediately apologized and went to leave like a respectful and polite person would. Then she made a snarky comment "you can't just bring dogs anywhere." First of all, I am aware of that, thanks. I could have mentioned that she's a support animal but I didn't even bother because of the obnoxious tone this woman used with me. There's no world where I would ever give her a penny of my hard-earned money at this point. You work in a customer service based industry - in a seasonal resort town no less. Here's a tip, BE KIND! Nobody needs your basic Joanna Gaines nautical decor that badly anyway.
