$28 for 4 hours. Never even seen this in Beverly Hills. MAKE SURE TO GET VALIDATED! Or find street parking. What a joke.

Lido Marina Village is a waterside shopping and dining center with high-end retail shops. I…read morerecently came here to check out a pop-up market event in December 2025. [Parking]: There's a designated parking structure for the village. The rate is $10.00 for the first hour, $2.50 each 15 minutes, and $50.00 daily max. Visitors can get a complimentary all day self-parking when spending $250 or more at any of retail merchants within the village - just show receipt(s) totaling $250 or more to the parking attendant. Complimentary 1 hour self-parking with validation with any tenant listed in the Lido Marina Village's directory. [IMPORTANT SPECIAL NOTE]: Herst Coffee Roasters does NOT validate the parking ticket! Only the following dine & drink places validate: Circle Hook, La La Land Kind Cafe (coming soon), Lido Bottle Works, Malibu Farm, Nobu, Skal Pizza, and Zinque. Basically there's no easy "affordable" way to get your ticket validated except for one tip. [PARKING TIP]: I was able to get a free validation at Malibu Farm Lido Home Collection. I simply walked up to the cashier counter and said that I need ticket validation & cashier validated my ticket without asking for any receipts. [Experience]: The village has a nice shoreline view. Check the event page on their website for live music on the Lido Deck performance, floral workshops, etc. [Conclusion]: If I compare this village to other high-end shopping centers in LA/Orange County, then I think retail shop options are pretty mediocre (I like 2ND & PCH a lot better). Good spot to take Instagrammable pictures, but expect doing mostly window shopping than actual shopping at this village.

The charming atmosphere makes it perfect for a leisurely stroll, shopping, or enjoying a meal by the water. Parking can be tricky, especially on weekends, since the area gets busy. There are metered spots and some paid parking near Nobu if you drive into the smaller side streets, you may get lucky there. Once you're in, there's so much to enjoy: unique shops, coffee spots, beauty salons, and a wide variety of restaurants. Live music is often hosted right outside Nobu and Zinqué, with plenty of seating and a wonderful waterfront backdrop. Overall, it's a must-visit in Newport Beach for both locals and visitors.

It's the kind of place that instantly gives you that classic Southern California vibe. Moments like this are a big reason I love living here. January sunshine and sunsets at the pier are hard to beat, and it never gets old no matter how many times you come back.

We would grab drinks at one of the nearby bars and then walk on the bike trail afterwards. Then we would head over to the pier to enjoy the ocean breeze. Newport Pier was constructed in the 1940s and replaced the original pier that was built in the 1800s. It is 1,032 feet long and made of mostly wood. Today, Newport Pier is a place for people to fish or to go on a stroll while enjoying the sunny weather and the fresh ocean breeze. Even through this area is touristy, I still like this pier because it is not as crazy packed as some of the other popular piers like the ones in Santa Monica or in Huntington. It has been some time since I have visited Newport Beach. I was recently in town and grabbed a bite at the Crab Cooker. I caught a beautiful sunset while walking on the Newport Pier. Not much has changed around here since I was last in town. The Life Guard Headquarters and Dory Fleet still reside at the base of the pier. There are gift shops and restaurants within walking distance. I was able to grab some great photos of the sunset before heading out. I enjoyed my quick visit and walk down memory lane while passing through Newport Beach.

The mall does tend towards high end stores with a small smattering of standard stores but in general, there are a wide variety of stores. Plenty of dining options from high end or quick casual. You can even do your grocery shopping here as there is a Whole Foods market. They occasionally have special events. I happened to be here during the Lunar New Year event so one of the areas was decked out with Year of the Horse decorations. I also always walk by the Koi pond to see how the fishes are doing. Staff has always been friendly and helpful when I visit.

It's had it's share of anchors leaving (think Circuit City and Forever 21), but the owner (Irvine Company) continues to pour money into it, to keep it fresh and relevant. As an example, when Forever 21 declared bankruptcy and closed its store in 2019, the building was demolished in 2022 to make way for a new Restoration Hardware gallery store...which we found to be quite nice. Parking is plentiful, (mostly) covered, and free, with a pedestrian bridge on the 3rd floor taking one to the main part of the mall. And it seems to be one of the most dog friendly malls in the area, which is saying a lot. One will see a lot of signs for something called 'The Lot', which is a high end, ultra-luxury, cinema/cafe/restaurant, geared towards the clientele that the area feeds.

Drove circles around the area for an hour with no luck on parking. Signs said lots closed everywhere. All beach lots were full and so I lined up to do valet with 15 minutes left to get checked into our boat. Finally got to the front of the line and they told us to go ahead and start unloading whatever we needed for the day. After all was done, the attendant told me they couldnt park my vehicle unless I could remove my folding bike rack off my hitch. I said I couldn't, since there a security tool required to take it off, which I leave at home. They said since they store vehicles on lifts they wouldn't take it because they don't want to risk damage to vehicles when they lift it. I looked over at the lifts and each car that was stored had a good 10-15 feet from the bumpers to the walls. Seriously? I also saw a bunch of floor parking that was available and asked "why not just park mine on the floor then?!" They still said no as it was policy. If that's the case then that should have been on the sign outside where it was saying they don't take oversized SUVS or FULL/OVERSIZED TRUCKS/VANs. I was pretty pissed off and cussing a storm at them at this point because I didn't want to miss my boat. Not sure if call it luck but I did manage to find a parking lot at a restaurant across the street...for $100 cash only. At least my son and I made it to our boat. SMH

We paid for parking for thw maximum two hours to go parasailing at Balboa Parasail, which should've only taken 90 minutes. The boat took a long time to come back to shore from the group that was before us, and that ate into our time. This would be avoided if the maximum time allowed to park is more than two hours. Three to four hours is much more realistic and reasonable! After we finished parasailing, we came back to the car with a $65 parking ticket, which was not our fault since the parasailing company wasn't on time and that pushed everything back. This put a big damper on the rest of what was supposed to be a nice day out with friends. I feel like these parking lot attendants are just counting down the seconds before they can slap your car with an expensive parking ticket. How disappointing! I'm definitely not coming back to this area, and I'm definitely not ever going to park in this lot again. Thieves, I say! Highway robbers! These kinds of tickets should not be legal. Even one of the skippers of Balboa Park said they get these tickets all the time and they can't even get out of them. That just goes to show how ruthless the people who own and operate Palm Lot are.
