I came to this Nail Salon on a Saturday at 12:15 pm to take my mom for her gel manicure. While there I decided to get a pedicure. If I could give 0 stars I would but that is not an option. They assigned me to a NEW young lady Nana who has NEVER done a regular pedicure before but knows how to do a gel pedicure!!?? Poor management or owner or front receptionist decision. My customer experience was AWEFUL Problems: 1. She cut my cuticles before pushing them back but proceeds to push them back creating more to have to cut them again but leaving residue 2. The polish was old and clumpy but she continues to try to polish me instead of recommending a different one. Needless to say she did 8 toes and I had to ask her "as a nail technician does this look ok to you? She said no. I said do why continue? Take it off" and I got another polish that was good. 3. She polished my toes without putting my slippers in first. Then when done asks the girl next to her how do I get the slippers on? She told her AFTER the fact you put them on b4 you polish. 4. After she was done, slippers on, fully polished and about to get up, she asks you do you want lotion? I said you put that on before you polish. I told her I am just ready to go. Every time I tried to look at my nails, she looked me and said they have to dry . When I went to her to fix it , she has the nastiest attitude!! When i tell you finding a nail tech in NYC that's good with SNS is hard! I've had soo many people mess up my nails and I'm so picky. I came to Diamond Nail after finding them on google with lots of good reviews. Based on the reviews i called and scheduled with Ryan for my SNS mani and Sang for my pedi. Ryan had just had a cancelation so i was able to get right in. They don't tell you on the phone but you have to come 30 mins to an hour early if you need to soak and they also don't tell you is CASH ONLY so keep that in mind when coming here. Ryan was nice and allowed my to soak while he took lunch. Ryan's English is really good too! I love when i can talk to my nail tech without there being a language barrier. As for my nails they came out bomb! Ryan did an amazing job! I literally have nothing to say bad about my nails. Sang was also awesome. Feet came out perfect. Keep in mind to schedule ahead if you want Ryan or Sang. Next time I'll be trying Ty for my pedi. I've read tons of good reviews ! read more

He literally just waved me away in front of all of the people waiting, which was really humiliating, as I began to try to explain my nail situation. Talk about customer service. It was busy but not that busy. I promptly walked out. I got a manicure here before and it is overpriced for the garbage manicures they do here, I walked in because it was an emergency. My mom goes to TY and she's absolutely the greatest, treats my mom nice and keeps her nails n feet fly. I love her she's such a seeet sole.

My second time visiting this place and it will be the last. This review is based on the work done on my hands and feet. Today I was in and out within an hour. So I get sent to the back for my pedicure.. everything is fine very pleasant worker, however my pedicure did not include callus removal. Not that I need any special treatment as my feet thankfully aren't bad, but the fact that they weren't scrubbed left me uneasy. Got my polish and was sent for my mani. Ok so gel manicure was my request. The gentleman doing my mani did not have me soak my hands at all to help remove my cuticles he just started buffing with a nail filer. So I'm sitting there like ok, then he pulls out the buffing machine and starts attacking my nails with this. At this point I'm lost because I don't ever have my nails buffed with the machine for a manicure. So he continues and without asking me to wash my hands he continues to polish my nails. Reason why I'm not returning: dry manicure is a NO for me and not properly scrubbing my feet is a deal breaker as I enjoy have nice smooth feet and in order to keep them that way a scrub is necessary during a pedi! read more

This is the first time I've been back to this salon in about 2 years. I was pleased the last time I visited but didnt return because I found a location that was easier for me to get to after work, then I stopped getting my nails done about 6 months ago, but with the weather changing I decided it was time to get a pedi and show off these toes. I called to sched an appt and was stuck when the scheduler asked me if I knew who I wanted to do my pedi. I just told him that I wanted someone who will do a good job, and besides, I dont know the staff there. (Red flag) So I showed up as scheduled for my appt and still had to wait for 20 mins (eye roll) but it was a Saturday and very busy so I understood. I finally get in the chair and explain to the nail tech that I needed tips/extensions added to both of my big toes. She proceeded to glob on the acrylic and when I complained that they were too short and too thick, she argued back that they would look good when she was finished. One toe was slightly longer than the other and she insisted on grabbing my toes and lining them up to show me. My view is different than hers, but I wasnt up to going back and forth with her. I KNEW at that point I was going to walk away dissatisfied. I didnt feel like fussing, and the owner seemed to disappear when I was ready to complain after she didnt file the acrylic down to a reasonable thickness. I let her do her thing and after my last coat of gel polish and she lotioned my feet and gave a half assed massage to them and then asked me if I liked them. I politely told her that I wasnt pleased and she looked at me went to the back of the salon. I thought she was coming back to me because I was sitting there for a few minutes barefoot and the other nail tech informed me that the service was complete. I had to put on my own shoes and find the tech to pay her. In most instances I'm a really good tipper. In this instance I didn't tip because I was really unhappy when I walked out. I have never been disappointed in the service at this salon before but I'm not sure that I'll be back to give them a chance to redeem themselves. I've been a customer for almost 4 years now. I go to Andy (he's the BOMB!). The wait can sometimes be unbelievably long, however recently they have done better as far as taking customers in order and by accepting and sticking to appointments. My schedule doesn't allow me to go on a regular day, so sometimes I try to run in. That's usually not a good idea. The prices are pretty good and the staff on a whole is usually extremely polite and welcoming. Terrible experience. I got a gel manicure and I guess their polish is cheap because it all chipped off in two days. I went back to fix it and they gave me a 6:45pm appointment to do so. The person that they said was gonna fix it didn't finish another client's nails until 7:40pm. When I simply asked how much longer it will take, the owner got an attitude with me and told the man that was going to do my nails that I "kept complaining." He was extremely rude and constantly turned his back to me when I was speaking to him. And when I expressed that I felt disrespected he turns his back and says "my fault" which to me is an unprofessional way of apologizing. He treated me as if I was someone on the street rather than a paying customer who deserved a positive experience. I understand that sometimes things don't go as planned and appointments run late into other appointments, but an hour late is unacceptable, and I was even more upset at the disrespect in the way the situation was handled. The place was also extremely dirty and filled with cob webs on the ceiling as well as dust everywhere. I also did not see one nail tech spray and wipe down the table after each client nor do they clean the gel polish uv machines or the windows. You can barely tell it's a nail salon from the way the windows are dusty and disgusting. I will not be returning. The entire staff treats me like family, from Sal the owner, Paul who pleasantly greets each customer and schedules appointments, to my amazing nail technician, Danny who has been doing my nails for years. Danny is a focused professional who takes great pride in his work. He will go above and beyond to ensure I am comfortable with the shape, color and length of my nails. I always feel like a new woman when I walk out of the shop after I get my nails done. I get complimented on my nails regularly and have recommended the shop to everyone. Got my nails done Saturday. One broke off immediately the next day. I make an appointment to fix it. They wait till its an hour before my appointment to cancel it and not explain or call as to why. Didn't see my text message so I showed up and was told the 'policy' (that I was not alerted of previous to this) is that the original person to do my nail must fix it. And he's off. So the front desk guy seemed reluctant to even take me (and after sitting and waiting for an hour I left) Any nail salon I ever went to just fixes the nail especially when I made an appointment. I recently had started coming here to get my nails done but I never cared for a pedicure here bc they don't put the plastic bag in the tub and I just think that's not sanitary. Anyway I was going to an event last minute and decided to get the mani pedi together. The lady who did my feet (Marlene or Amy I can't remember specifically) cut my foot and put it back in the water and didn't say anything about cutting my foot during the scrub. My foot was super irritated and itchy in the spot where I saw that she cut me. It felt like a burning feeling. Then my whole leg felt hot. I got home and my legs were covered in hives. I ended up going to urgent care bc these hives were EVERYWHERE. They said I could've had an allergic reaction to the chemicals or there could be a bacteria infection. It took almost two weeks to clear the hives up. Never getting pedicures anywhere they don't put the plastic bags in the tub ever again. read more

Compared to any other nail salon I've been to, they got the shape right, every acrylic nail was of equal length, and they did no harm to my cuticle or the skin around my nails. One of the nail technicians also told me if he was hurting me in anyway w the electric file to let him know . I was like what????
