My original wedding ring from 1979 needed repair. I found good reviews online, so I took a leap of faith and trusted them with my wedding ring. I wasn't disappointed! They did a very good job repairing breaks in the band, as well as repairing the pins/prongs that hold the diamonds in place. They also had to add gold to make it larger. Today it was reported that in San Luis Obispo County, hospitalizations have reached the highest point in the pandemic. Nine more COVID deaths were reported and 67 residents are currently hospitalized for severe COVID-19. So imagine my shock when I walked into Diamond Designs in Pismo Beach and found NO employees or customers wearing masks. The shop has a bad stale smell, probably from cigarette smoke. Cigarette smoke and disregard for the health and life of oneself and others are beyond disgusting. Their website says their main goal is to keep clients happy and satisfied. My main goal is to keep myself healthy and alive and cause no harm to anyone else. So staying away from Diamond Designs is at the top of my list. read more

So I brought in my late father's diamond ring and they removed the diamonds and helped me select a suitable mounting for the central diamond. The project came out absolutely perfectly - Karen's suggestion of a new setting was ideal and the price for all the labor and the new setting was very good. I had a good experience with them the first time I had them repair my ring, but this last time was the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. I dropped off my wedding ring on 1/24. I called them a week later on 1/31 to find out when it might be finished. She said it didn't go out until 1/28 and that she would find out when it would be finished and call me back. She didn't call back. On 2/5 I called them again to find out when it might be finished and she said, "Oh, it's done. You can come pick it up." When I went in she told me that there was no date given for it to be finished and that she wouldn't have called me to tell me it was finished. So they would have apparently keep my ring indefinitely? If she had said that she meant to call me and didn't get around to it or that she was sorry for blowing me off or something, I can understand. But she flat out said she wasn't going to call me (even though she said she would the week before) and that's it. She didn't care one way or another. I'll never use their business again and recommend you go to a more reputable establishment. read more

I walked into the shop for not even one minute, and the first thing I notice is the smell. The smell was horrendous, it was dusty, and ash like. The second thing I immediately noticed was the employees weren't wearing masks and they didn't greet us or anything. They took a quick look at us and acted like we weren't there. Looked at the rings for a quick second and they looked dirty. The place and people overall just weren't good, no hello or nothing. Would not recommend going to this place if you're looking for jewelry unless you're looking for bad service and a dirty place to shop. read more

This review is way over due. Karen is amazing. She helped my (fiancé at the time) husband pick out our wedding rings. She was so patient and sweet to work with going out of her way to find the perfect rings. When our wedding day was approaching I had difficulty finding the perfect earrings to match that I wouldn't be spending a lot of money on. I found some but needed help to make them into dangling earrings and Karen was able to help me fix them and also went out of her way to call a jewelry repair shop to make sure they were perfect. So I dropped my wedding band and my engagement ring to be resized on November 14th. They told me that they would be closed the next week for Thanksgiving week and that it should be done sometime shortly thereafter. I said no problem and thanked them. They said they would give me a call as soon as it was ready for pick up. So December rolls around and I wait and wait for the call, still no call. So around December 5th, I finally have to call them to check on the status. They say it's ready for pick up (um...thanks for the call?). Anyways I say thank you and that I will be in the next day to pick them up. The next day and over the next few days both my children get sick with the flu, so I couldn't immediately go to pick it up, but I knew it was there and done, so I wasn't worried about it (it would still be there in the next few days when I was able to pick it up, right?) Wrong!! On December 12th, I asked my fiance to take the slip and go and pick it up and when he got there, it had been RE-SENT out to the person that does the resizing (even though it had already been done). They told him that they would give MY phone number a call as soon as it was back in that afternoon. Okay, no problem, I can be patient and wait. But then, NO CALL back. I had to be the one to call them to even find out that it was back in the shop. So I go to pick it up, pay them and get my rings AND one of my rings isn't even the right size...my wedding band fits great but I still can't wear my engagement ring (it's not the same size as the band). WTF! I'm so irritated with them that I don't even want to deal with them to have them fix it. I AM WILLING TO PAY ANOTHER COMPANY EXTRA MONEY TO HAVE THEM FIX DIAMOND DESIGNS MISTAKE. If that's not saying anything, then I don't know what is. Consumer beware!! read more
