Courtney is the best!! Absolutely the prettiest jewelry, prices and service. They make wish lists so your person can surprise you.

Very nice service! The tall beautiful girl. I needed an adjustment made to a watch band, and in less than 5 minutes had my watch fitting perfect. $10 for the service. Am very happy with how pleasant and efficient the process happened. I also noticed how nice they were treating other customers in the store at the same time. Thank you! I recommend this store. read more

Great friendly service at C B Hood. I needed a simple bracelet adjustment on a vintage watch that I had recently purchased. After leaving another jewelry store in the area, because they wanted to charge $100 for the same adjustment. The employees at C B Hood Diamond Co took the watch and within 30 seconds had completed the sizing. I didn't know and had never been to C B Hood before but their friendly smiles and attentive service was a refreshing change. I will definitely return when I have the opportunity. read more

I smashed my fingers and it broke and needed repaired. My sister purchased her rings here and recommended them. Maddie ar CB Hood was awesome. She was attentive, throughly reviewed the rins, quoted me a fair and reasonable price for repair. She said up to 2 weeks for repair and 4 days later called and said it was done. I picked it up and it's perfection. Looks better than new !! They also had beautiful jewelry in the cases to chose from. Check them out for your jewelry needs. read more

Saw this place on my Albertsons visit. Decided to see if they could fix my watchband that broke after a motorbike accident in December. We have had such wonderful experiences at CB Hood Diamond company. They have a great selection, are courteous, helpful & friendly. They have two gemologists on staff & are very knowledgable. The lady who worked today was lovely. I had received a Swarovski bracelet that I couldn't open (didn't want to pull too hard & break it) and went in to ask if they could help. I took my engagement ring here for its first ever cleaning and I am so so happy I did! Staff was so kind and explained so much about my ring that I didn't even know, specifically short and long term care. I also brought in a necklace with a broken link that they kindly fixed. I highly recommend this local, family business! read more

Re: "Brandon" at CB Hood Diamond Co.: Had to take my beautiful "James Avery; sterling silver and 14k. gold ring" in for a cleaning as it had tarnished. "Brandon" did an "excellent job" of restoring my ring's "shiny; untarnished beauty" while wearing a "sharp; professional suit and tie" and a "set of stylish suspenders." Overall - it was a very "pleasant; professional; positive" experience. read more

I have had a couple of repairs done here in the past and was very pleased. Recently I took my wedding rings and my late husband's wedding band in to have the stones from both set in a single ring. Kourtney was so helpful in choosing a setting and deciding how to set the stones. When there was a slight delay waiting for an ordered item they called to let me know. I am thrilled with the outcome and cannot say enough about the excellent customer service! Highly recommend this company. read more

I'd like to give a zero star rating but the fact only one employee was decent I'll give them 1. The guy from the commercials and my guess his wife were just straight up rude and disrespectful. I'm sorry I came into your business and it inconvenienced you two to have to get up and say hello after standing in the show room for 5 minutes. I can do rude, I can deal with grumpy, but when a customer brings a piece of jewelry in to have it appraised or looked at, maybe take a second and think hmmm maybe this is sentimental or has history to that individual not just jump straight into "yeah this is terrible ha ha ha". Like old man have you seen you appearance or the smell of your business? That's terrible and that fact the two of you were grumbling about having to get up from a chair, go fuck your faces!!! Fuck that place!! To the one gentleman that was nice enough to be polite an act like a decent person, sorry but your boss should lick the dog shit stains off the carpet and give you a raise! read more

Honest jewelers in Santa Maria. I've come to this place a couple times once the clasp on my tennis bracelet had broken and someone had turned it in and the jeweler fixed my clasp, another time my watch needed to be fitted and fixed as a link had broken. Each time they give honest advice, they've never switched out my diamonds and they always give me advice to save me money. An honest and well priced jeweler is hard to find. And I'm grateful. read more

After posting my comments, the owners posted a thoughtful and generous reply. I had to re-review! I think we have all gotten way too sensitive on some of these politically correct issues. Update: Charlie, Michelle, and Courtney are so great. They helped my Hubs find the perfect wedding band/engagement ring combo for our 20th wedding anniversary. They were so patient with him as he went through all their stock and then looking through catalogues. It is wonderful. They helped keep it on the DL from me so it was a major surprise. My hubby(Chris) knows exactly where to go to make me very happy. For the last 22+ years we've been Charlie's faithful customers. Not only does he have a great selection but it's all top quality. Charlie taught him all about the 4 Cs and Chris is a quick learner (with a good memory). We go to CB Hood for all our jewelry needs. We've been lucky enough to be on the receiving end of a gift or two from Charlie for our years of patronage. We tell all our friends to shop there... they'd be foolish not to! Why not start the year with a little bling? read more

First of all, if I could give TEN stars, I most definitely would! My husband and I have been doing business with Charlie Hood way back when he worked for The Village Diamond Center, located in a very small area in the Vandenberg Village skating rink in the mid-80's! Charlie notified us by mail I believe, that he was leaving TVDC, and striking out on his own. I don't, however, know the exact year when he opened his current business, C.B. Hood Diamond. We followed him and continued having all our jewelry repairs done there; his goldsmiths are second to none. There's absolutely NO ONE else I would trust with my wedding wedding set; I'm always sent reminders that it's time to go in to have the prongs checked on my solitaire, and surrounding diamonds on its ring guard. There is no charge for this. My husband had his nugget gold with diamonds wedding ring repaired to look like brand new, and the cost was more than fair. A week ago, I noticed that my wedding set was in serious need of repair. Immediately I wondered that since we are in the middle of a pandemic, would C.B. Diamond even be considered an essential business? I decided to lock the ring up, and get ahold of them when the crisis ended. But, then I decided to call and see if they were open. I got their AM, and Michelle Hood stated that their hours changed drastically, but they listened to their messages frequently and would get back asap. Soon after I received a call, and Michelle and I worked out a plan to get my ring repaired. The end result: I now have my ring back, fully repaired, and looking even better than new. Like I said, their goldsmiths are exceptional. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Having said all that (yeah, it IS long!), there is no other jeweler with whom I'd leave my pieces for repair or cleaning. These people, Charlie, Michelle, Courtney, and the goldsmiths are soooo HONEST, which should be the MOST important component/quality when trying to select the right jeweler for one's personal jewelry needs. They are also very knowledgeable, courteous, and simply put, "people friendly". And, anyone who knows Charlie as I do, knows how humorous he is; I love his wicked sense of humor. I hope that soon this quarantine will end, and they will be opening their doors once again to offer their exemplary services. I HIGHLY recommend this family owned and operated jewelry business. Until then, I do pray you, the Hood family, stay safe, and well. Thank you, Michelle, and your goldsmith for so generously helping me out this week. read more

My wife and I brought our wedding rings in to be checked out. I received an estimate on any work being done, which seemed high, but not extraordinary. However, I decided not to get the work done at that time. When I went into the store to pick up the rings, I was told the rings had been sent out for the estimate, and they had not been returned. I was surprised that the rings were sent somewhere else for an estimate, but I figured that was my assumption that would be done on-site. I was told the rings would be back the following Tuesday, and I would receive a call to pick them up. No call. In fact, I waited until Saturday without any contact from the jeweler. When I called, guess what? The rings still have not been returned to the store. I am now being told that they don't know why the rings are not back yet, but they should be here next Tuesday. I have a hard time believing that now. At this point, it has been almost two weeks without our wedding rings. This is absurd. These are our wedding rings. They are irreplaceable, and at this point, I have no idea where they are. I feel like I'm getting empty promises. So ask yourself: Do you want this to happen to your irreplaceable valuables? If so, this is a great jeweler! If not, stay far away. read more

Family oriented. Great customer service. My fiance went here to have a custom ring made and he cannot stress enough how much Courtney helped him through the entire process. He brought in what he wanted and worked with her to create it. He told me that she gave him an accurate estimate and after she had pictures of the ring he wanted to customize, she sent him outlines or predrafts of what it would look like. After it was made he was able to pick a diamond that he wanted for the ring. She worked with him on making payments and what was doable for his budget. I seriously cannot thank you guys enough for making this possible. My ring is beautiful and my fiance cannot stop gushing at the amazing service he received from you. Thank you so much Courtney we will for sure be there for our wedding bands. I highly recommend CB hood. They are fairly priced. Family owned. And eager to help you pick the perfect piece of jewelry!!! read more

First of all the place looks terrific and you're immediately greeted with warmth. I brought in a great looking watch, albeit old and worn, with no strap. The owner, Charlie, helped me pick out a great silver studded leather strap out of this huge catalog that looked like the Encyclopedia Britannica. A few days later the watch was returned to me with the strap put on at no charge, and the owner took the time to buff out all the scratches and blemishes on the watch itself. The service was 100% sincere, prices reasonable and the quality, five star. This definitely my new jewelry shop. read more

CB Hood Diamond Company is the ONLY place I will buy jewelry and the only place I will recommend to family and friends. I'm not in a financial position to buy jewelry whenever I want, so when I do, I want to know that my money is well spent. And besides that, Charlie, Michelle, Courtney and staff always make me feel like I am their favorite customer - like I'm part of the family! I met the CB Hood group by walking in to about a getting a jewelry appraisal. They offered to clean my 4 carat diamond ring complimentary and when they did they inspected it as well. Courtney was advised by the lady that was cleaning my ring that I had diamonds that were about to fall out. So Courtney then takes it over to take a look under the scope and shows me the damage that I had no idea about.Three of my bigger diamonds, and a prong on the back side of one of the diamonds was broke. She tried to secure them the best she could for me to have it repaired on a later day. Courtney saved me thousands and she truly cared about the outcome of my ring. I will do business with them from here on out because my previous jewelry store was out of town and any and all repairs would require me to overnight my precious ring to them or bring it to LA which is the closet one from the Central Coast. The only thing I did learn from this is the previous jewelry store said they would not honor warranty repairs if you tell them another jewelry store had cleaned your ring for you. I told them because I had just had it inspected weeks before and the damage was so bad they agreed it didn't happen overnight. read more

The owner was extremely rude! Would not stop talking long enough to assist his salesperson, even after she requested his help several times. I'm really surprised that a small business owner would treat customers and his own employees like that. It's one thing to have to wait for legitimate reasons, but to be completely ignored and forced to wait while the owner is chit-chatting with his friend is unacceptable. I recommend taking your business elsewhere. I'm sure there are a lot of other jewelers in town that would APPRECIATE the business. read more
