Started going back to PetCo because they have focus and will put everything in the bag when I leave. Maybe she could go back in stocking and stop detracting. Nice woman, just not any focus. And distracts everyone from focusing on the job at hand. Like I said, love this place, but.... Better for me to go to Petco and get what I need. With the padres losing so much, it's not even the padres discount at Petco, but just making sure I get out with everything I went there for. She's very friendly and nice, but doesn't have animals on her mind like the rest of the team. Maybe she'll grow into the maturity it takes to do the job, maybe she won't. In the meantime, you're losing customers and I take my $300 a month+ and go elsewhere. It's a small drop in the bucket, but watch the faces and rolled eyes customers give to each other when asking questions, or when you're trying to check out and she's literally tacking at the guy trying to check you out. Someone should be paying attention there who is oversight. Perky doesn't cut it anymore when you can get what you want for cheap and get free delivery, or go to the kahootz in Poway, or Petco. Or Amazon. Really used to love this place. But.... When customers have to point out the shortcomings of what training isn't covering then there's a problem from the top down. When you have people sitting in the oversight chair up on the right side, you'd think they would be listening to see how things go, instead they join in. I'm too old for this crap. They seem to be the only game in town for a lot of items. I've spoken with two other people who go there who have had similar issues when asking for help there. Like her saying "she" (instead of "we") doesn't carry it, so she doubts the existence of a product. Seriously. Has done this to me twice. And to two other shoppers I know who are friends. What's going on there? It doesn't matter to me, I am going elsewhere again. Just when you had me back. So, don't even bother replying, not coming back. I hear there's a new pet store setting up in town. I guess competition causes competency. Eventually, she'll learn the job if people start mentoring her.

Then what made me write this yelp review is the fact that he emailed me again about the job this week calling me incompetent because the job never went through. GUYS WATCH OUT FOR THIS COMPANY. SHADY SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES. They don't stop there. They continue with harassment constantly. We adopted our dog in february this year. The first worker we were in contact with Melissa, was…read moresuper nice and had great energy and was honest and willing to answer all of our questions. The day of adoption comes to take our baby home and the vibe was nasty. We were met with another worker we never met and her attitude came across as judgey, dismissive, and overall just wanted to get it over with. Our dog was spayed that weekend we got her, and no pain medicine was provided for her. FYI they take the dogs to get spayed in Mexico where it cost a nickel and two dimes, and then turn around and hit you with a fat fee of $600 for the adoption, spay, microchip, and other stuff. We asked questions about the dogs health and mentioned that the other worker told us she has mild dental issues (not a problem at all) we just wanted to get maybe more insight on that. No completely dismissive and straight up lied to our face about our dog having any dental problems and claiming she's completely fine. Come to find in the paper work they provide you, it says she has dental disease. Following that my partner has never owned a pet before so they were just asking basic questions about what to know. She had a rude attitude for every reply and the energy was very off putting for a first dog adoption expirence. Following taking our dog home we find out she's extremely reactive towards other dogs, (totally fine) we email TBL about her reactivity just to see if she had any issues with other dogs when she was at the shelter. No response. that clearly paints the picture that they don't care about you or your dog. They have a long lengthy contract to sign that will completely cover their ass but would screw you over if anything happens. Very shady, we are staying away for our second dog.
