Was told it was next in line to be done, and the next day it was done. We picked up the ring, but were told the appraisal was not ready. I was told to have my insurance company contact John via e-mail and he would forward the info to the insurance company so we could receive a quote and insure the ring. The insurance company never received the information it needed. Two weeks go by and I stopped in the store again and asked for the appraisal and diamond report. He said he was behind on his paperwork but to have my insurance company contact him. I said I already did that and my wife is afraid to wear the ring because we still have no insurance for it. He apologized and said he would get that appraisal done right away. That was over three weeks ago and still nothing! Frustrated with multiple requests for the appraisal and diamond report, and wanting to wrap up this already five week old transaction, we ended up paying for an appraisal from another local jeweler which was done in one day! Wouldn't you know it the appraisal was for less than we paid for the ring. But at this point whatever, we insured the ring and are putting this bad experience behind us. We have since heard of similar bad experiences with this store from others. Buyer Beware.

Cleaned and fixed an old wall clock. Very prompt, and fair priced. I am an advocate for small…read morefamily owned businesses.

When I dropped the jewelry off, the young woman assisting me was extremely polite and professional. I was told repairs would take about two weeks. It ended up being closer to three weeks, which honestly was not a problem since I didn't need the items immediately. Unfortunately, the pickup experience was disappointing enough that I won't return. When I arrived, I was greeted briefly by an older employee who retrieved my jewelry. My diamond bracelet was handed to me in a small zip plastic bag, partially hanging out of the closure. While I inspected the repair, the employee continuously twirled my pearl necklace around in her hand, which made me uncomfortable considering the nature and delicacy of jewelry. When I mentioned I would be splitting the payment between two cards, her visible frustration made the interaction even more awkward. After completing payment, she asked where the pearl necklace was because I had placed it in the same small bag as the bracelet -- since no jewelry box or bag had been provided. What stood out most was not a single "thank you for your business," "have a nice day," or "let us know if you need anything else." The entire interaction felt as though I was inconveniencing her simply by being there. I think after spending more than $300 on repairs a minimum of customer service would be natura. The repairs themselves appear fine, but customer service matters enormously in retail -- especially in the jewelry business, where trust, care, and professionalism should be part of the experience. I will never return nor suggest Crider's.

The atmosphere felt cold and unwelcoming right away. The woman at the counter was not friendly or engaging, and the more questions we asked about services and pricing, the more dismissive the interaction felt. What really stood out was when the jeweler came out to look at our pieces and provide estimates. We were standing directly in front of her, yet she never acknowledged us once. Instead, she spoke only to the employee at the counter as if we weren't even there. It honestly felt awkward and disrespectful. On top of the poor customer service, the estimates we received were significantly higher than other jewelers we checked with afterward. I understand quality work costs money, but customer experience matters too, and this was not a place where I felt valued or welcomed. I would not return or recommend them based on my experience.
