I am at a complete loss for words. Less than 24 hours after proposing to my now fiancée, the diamond I had saved up for so long fell out of the ring! I cannot believe Vrej did not ensure it was more secure given the size of the diamond and the amount I paid. We have spent the last two days searching everywhere for the lost diamond but haven't been able to find it. My fiancée is completely distraught and has not stopped crying. This experience has been emotionally devastating for both of us. Vrej has turned our engagement into an absolute nightmare. We had family flying in from out of town to celebrate the engagement this weekend, and instead, they arrived to find my fiancée crying non-stop, her joy replaced by heartbreak. We quickly returned today to speak with Vrej in hopes that he could help us figure out why this had happened. To add salt to the wound of our situation, instead of being met with the helpful person we thought we knew, we were met with threats and accused of being thieves by Vrej himself. I couldn't understand how one of the most exciting and significant purchases of my life could turn into such a negative experience. He raised his voice at us, making a scene and insisting we had "done something" to the ring. I was completely taken aback. I've never been yelled at, let alone threatened and called names like this anywhere. There was zero professionalism now that he had our money. We were left with his poor work that resulted in losing the main diamond I paid so much for. Not so much as an apology or even a hint of trying to resolve my concern. The fact that he so quickly went on the defensive in such a loud and public way when we trusted him to help us genuinely speaks volumes about the kind of business this man runs. This accusation was a crushing blow, adding insult to injury. I cannot believe a jeweler with supposed 40+ years of experience would treat customers this way. I had saved so long to buy this ring, only for Vrej to carelessly sell me a poorly designed piece that lost its precious stone. The disappointment is overwhelming. After speaking with multiple reputable diamond setters, they all commented on what a poor job he did and how unprofessional his work was. Their consensus only confirmed our worst fears about the craftsmanship. Vrej has not only ruined our engagement but has also caused us immense emotional distress. The joy of this significant life event has been completely overshadowed by the negligence and disrespect we experienced. Our engagement, a moment that should have been filled with happiness and love, has been marred by tears and frustration. I urge anyone considering Vrej's services to think twice. Trusting him with your precious moments could lead to heartache and regret that no one should have to endure for such a special occasion as an engagement. But please, don't just take my word for it - see the pictures I've posted as proof. I would hate for such a horrible thing to happen to anyone else. Vrej is a dishonest jeweler. We bought a ring back in June and he failed to give me the paperwork. We were visiting LA and we were leaving when we bought the ring. He couldn't find the paperwork for the diamond and he said he would overnight ship it to me. I have contacted him repeatedly asking if he shipped and asked for tracking number. We were shopping around for a center stone for my wife's ring, stopped at many shops and came across Diamond Code. Vrej greeted us, he answered all our questions without any hesitation, I started looking at the variety of diamonds. After looking and talking to Vrej for about an hour we decided on a 3.70 center stone, he gave us pricing and we knew that this would be the one, since my wife is very indecisive she wanted to think about it and keep doing her research. We told him we would think about it and come back, he was understanding and polite and told us that we should look around and decide for the perfect stone. Even though we weren't purchasing from him at this time he still kept answering our questions and never pressured us into buying anything from him. We left and kept researching on line to make sure that this was the right center stone. 4 days later we decided that this was the one, called him gave him a deposit to hold the Diamond, a few days later we came back to have the stone set, he was very helpful and gave us his opinion on how to have the stone set to make sure the ring would be to our satisfaction. There were 7 small diamonds that were removed from my wife's ring and Vrej suggested that we have the diamonds set on a band, I am beyond thrilled on how the ring and band came out. The owner of this fine establishment, Vrej, far surpasses customer service and really juggles multiple clients at once with great ease. Ok so here's my experience back story: I decided to upgrade my Diamond wedding set for our 10 year anniversary. I did all this research and finally pulled the trigger with James Allen online because I thought I was purchasing from a well reviewed trusted company. Wrong! I was told what I had purchased was no longer available so I had to purchase another shape diamond to continue even though they charged my account! Scam alert if you ask me. I had already shopped Vrej and the only reason I didn't initially buy from him was that it was my first set of in person visits in the district and I wasn't sure what I wanted, at the end of a long holiday weekend, a click online was so much easier. Well a week and a half long headache of back and forth problems with James Allen online was remedied by me emailing Vrej to ask him if he could match for me from his inventory what I purchased from James Allen for a better price since they no longer had any Radiant Cut diamonds in my carat size. He emailed me back immediately and said YES! A full breakdown of the setting and band I wanted along with cut clarity and color I was looking for in a Radiant diamond!!! I WAS SOOOO THRILLED! We were referred to Vrej by family and friends who'd been very happy with their experience. I took my antique engagement ring to him after visiting a few jewelers who were price gauging me and telling me they couldn't do anything with it. We were quoted upwards of 50-100k! Vrej was warm and welcoming, we even had our young daughter in tow for the day and he was so kind and patient with her as well. We first decided on the center stone, which took me quite awhile as he had so many beautiful diamonds to choose from. Once we decided on the stone we looked at how to rebuild and reshape the entire ring. It was so important to me to keep the original band and to also not lose the original vintage cluster top and instead have that part made into a necklace. The whole process took about 4 hours. He was thoughtful, very knowledgeable and not once did we feel pressured or oversold on anything out of our budget. We spoke a few days before the appt and went over a few things, when we showed up, he had already picked out some diamonds that were well within our budget. I cannot stress enough how seamless the whole process was and how appreciative we were to work with someone honest, patient and kind. This place is terrible. The jewelry is over-priced and difficult to work with. We paid $5,700 for a diamond bracelet, and then had it appraised at another booth next door at $2,500. In the picture, the larger diamond bracelet should cost $5,500 (also the diamonds are the same quality as V&A Jewelry, just much bigger). I will never shop here again.
