    G & M Body Shop

I usually try to avoid giving negative reviews, but this is one that I feel needs to be shared…read more In March 2023 we took my van to G&M Body Shop East to have two areas of damage repaired. The first was the rear lift gate that I had dented backing into a truck, which was paid for by our insurance. The second area was a dent on one of the front fenders that was already on the van when we bought it, and we paid for this repair out of pocket. G&M had my van for a week to complete the repairs. When arrived to pick up my van we noticed that a tan substance been dripped inside the passenger headlight assembly and dried there. I went back inside to ask about it and was told that they had tried to repair the headlight assembly because it was not sealing (due to the damage it had when we brought it in) and that glue had dropped down inside the plastic of the assembly. They acknowledged that it didn't look good. I was told that if we didn't like the way it looked they could order a new headlight assembly but that we would have to pay the $400+ cost of the part. I went back outside to relay this information to my husband. He went inside and told them that this wasn't acceptable because it was their mistake and they needed to fix it. The tech said he would talk to the owner and get back to us and we left. They called my husband that same day and told him they would replace the headlight assembly for free. Once the part came in they replaced the headlight assembly and we thought everything was resolved and we were good. Before leaving the tech told me not to use any wax for a certain number of days if I took it to a car wash. I promptly forgot if he had said 60 or 90 days, so decided to just go with 90 days to be safe. I also decided to just avoid the car wash for that time because I didn't want to risk accidentally choosing an option with wax and messing anything up. (It's also important to note that my van is kept in a garage and I generally try to avoid driving in rain if possible) Fast forward to July 2023 and the vans first trip to the car wash since repairs. In the automatic car wash water begins pouring inside from the ceiling at the top of the rear lift gate. As soon as I exited the car wash I drove to G&M. The employee who greeted me came outside and was able to immediately see that their techs just hadn't popped a seal in place around the wires that connect to the lift gate. He asked that I leave the van with them so they could make sure the problem was fixed and have their detail guys clean it up and dry it out. 5 hours later I picked up the van and they confirmed the seal was the problem and they fixed it and got it all dried out. While they did get it dry under the plastic panel on the ceiling where the water was pouring in, and they did vacuum out most of the moisture from the floor, that is the extent of what they did. They left dirt and handprints all over the plastic panel that they removed, and it now has a gap between that panel and the ceiling where the water was gushing out. So, while they seemed to do their best to correct their multiple mistakes...they only did so once my husband stepped in and they were no longer dealing with a woman. And they also did the bare minimum to correct their mistakes, leaving me with more of a mess to clean up than I had before the car wash.

I can't speak for the work they do because I haven't use them as a customer. But the Optimus prime…read moreand bumblebee statues are a pretty cool factor for Stillwater and my grandson thought they were fantastic!

Me myself have been a Collision Technician for years, the work this shop produced was poor and quite frankly embarrassing for myself as a technician. I inspected his vehicle in my shop at home and was flabbergasted. There was dry spray all along the bottom part of doors, didn't even attempt to make a blend on the adjacent panel which would be some what passable if the color actually matched. I have found several fish eyes as well. I used a thickness gauge to check how much body filler they used, wasn't surprised at this point that a lot the door was made of filler. more mills than should be used. Also no corrosion protection was used for the backside of the repairs where they have pulled on the metal so rust will be a issue down the road thanks to them. When it comes to the Collison business, you are taking peoples lives in your hands repairing their vehicles. SAFELY AND CORRECTLY, NOT CHEAPLY. it should be illegal to make these poor repairs. I would recommend a I-CAR GOLD certified shop to do your repairs, not this ghetto little shop. There is a few shops around Stillwater that are I-CAR GOLD. Go to them instead, pay a little more and get it done right so you can keep your family safe!

If it were possible to give this place negative stars, I would! I bought a car here January 31,…read more2016 and from the moment I drove it off the lot it was making all kinds of weird noises. A few days later, it overheated on me. I took it to a different mechanic in town who told me they shouldn't have sold me the car because it had a blown head gasket! I called D Sweet and tried to get them to take it back and they offered me $2000 for it. Mind you, I spent $7,000 on it! I had only had it for 4 days and I didn't tell them I had taken it to another mechanic! That right there tells you that they knew something big was wrong with it when they sold it to me! I got ahold of my attorney who looked at my contract and saw that I had a warranty with the car and they should cover expenses to fix it. So I took it to them and had them look at it and instead of fully examining it, they found the first thing wrong with it, which happened to be the water heater, and told me that was the problem. They said the warranty covered most of the repairs but I would still have to pay $280 to fix it. I didn't have that kind of money laying around and they said it wouldn't be a problem if I drove it until I could afford to get it fixed. So I continued to drive it, meanwhile, I'm having to put coolant in it once a week. Finally, in May, I had saved up enough and I took it to get fixed. They fixed the water pump and I drove it home but it was still making the same noises! Go figure, considering the water pump wasn't the problem, the head gasket was! I immediately called them and told them the problem was not fixed and that as soon as my work schedule would allow, I was going to take it back to them and have them look at it. My fiance ended up paying for a rental car for me so I didn't have to drive it until I could bring it in to them, so when I got in it to take it to them, I hadn't driven it in about 3 days. Guess what? IT WOULDN'T START! I had to miss the rest of work, because I was trying to take it on my lunch break, and pay $90 for a tow truck to take it to them! (Luckily, my insurance reimbursed me for that, but my rent was late because of it!) After calling them multiple times a day for FOUR days, I finally got an answer from them about my car. They said the head gasket was blown and there was a crack in the engine! Three weeks later, after hounding them about it some more, they finally told me that the warranty company wouldn't cover it and they wanted me to pay $4,000 to replace the engine! I told them I would get back to them after I talked to my attorney, and that was the last time I talked to them. In the mean time, my attorney has called them, emailed them, and sent them certified mail and they have not responded, answered his calls, or picked up the certified mail. This has been going on for 5 months now! Luckily, my fiance has been letting me use his car, otherwise I would have been completely screwed! I finally got the call from my attorney who told me to stop making the payments on it and that he was sending them a Refusal of Goods letter. Since then, I've tried contacting them multiple times so I can have someone go get my things out of my car, but every time I call, it says they aren't receiving calls at this time. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!!! They are untrustworthy scumbags! And would you like to know the worst part? When I bought the car from them, my two kids and I were living in a domestic abuse shelter, and Brooks (the guy who sold me the car) knew and still chose to take advantage of me! That speaks volumes about their character! Again, DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM THEM OR TRUST THEM WITH YOUR VEHICLE!!!!
