The shop there said it would take them a couple of weeks to get a rebuilt transmission if they could even find one. Someone recommended we try BG&S in North Platte, and they agreed to fix it, so we had it towed there. When James found out we were stranded far from home, he got us back on the road in a couple of days! We even have a warranty with the rebuilt transmission they installed that we can use in our home state. The price was very reasonable, and James explained to us in detail how and why our transmission failed, and gave us pointers on maintaining our "new" one. These guys really ARE good at what they do!

Two days later I picked it up. The handle was fixed, it opened and closed the door just fine. However whoever did the work gouged the plastic on the door attempting to remove the plastic plugs to get to the screws and ripped the fabric on the door. I showed the owner (refior) the damaged. So the windshield wipers stopped working. We found Shrake on our GPS and pulled in on a Friday afternoon at 5:00pm. The owner and two mechanics took off the cowling, found and replaced the bushing. Easy peasy (for them, not me!). I sked, "how much," and the owner said -- sit down, okay? -- nothing. (I couldn't bear it and give them some money.) I went to license my car and I wasn't able to because they never sent the paperwork to the DMV but tried to lie and say it was the banks fault. I had to pay late fees because of their negligence.
