Location. 10 acre lagoon with swimming, kayaking, sUP and inflatable course are great. Water is COLD but better than being hot. Facilities are beautiful, larger as my home. Easy acres to golf courses and sister locations. Great walking/hiking trails. Just pay attention to the trails in the sand to see what's crossed the path. Example bird or snake. Food at the Dunes was wonderful as well as Tigr Woods restaurant but expect to pay $$$$$ at Tigr's place. Worth to go at least once. Still can't get it out of my mind. Shuttles take you to all sister locations and they run till midnight. So get out at 11pm and go get cookies from the Dunes!!!! Draw back off going with member is that you can't use gym unless you pay about $30 day. Not happening. Already paid a heavy price for ability. Another draw back is the pro shop is not online like we were told. I want a ball marker that was out even I was there so no way to get it without going back. Not happening anytime soon :/ The hallways are open to outside with small square windows that open. Love them but they let in a lot of light at nights. Had to tear pages out of magazine to place on windows to mute light. Fit perfect. Stop at a grocery store and pickup food to cook and enjoy coffee in the morning while sitting on balcony looking at golf course. Can't say enough about Diamante. This review is for Diamante's Sportsbar. A very well appointed Bar with really tasty food choices. This particular night their special was fried chicken. Golden fried with a small hint of honey. Fresh vegetables from farm to table. Other nights we enjoyed the Sushi bar as well as their wood fired Pizzas! The Service by Carlos, Nacho and all the wait staff was fantastic! What a fantastic place! I came to Diamante and was genuinely impressed with its potential and the level of service it provides. First the room The room was gorgeous! The OCR was modern and sleek. The rooms were huge, and the furnishings were comfortable. We started in a two-bedroom that had three full bathrooms with great showers. The food: There were flashes of greatness and areas that could be improved. Our go-to spot was the market! The tortilla soup was terrific. Fresh and flavorful, as well as a perfect temperature to warm me up in a cool evening. Breakfast there was a hit. I loved the French toast, probably the best at the resort. The pizza was great as well. My son, who is allergic to dairy, was over the moon when we were allowed to purchase non-dairy cheese, and the staff made his pizza. The market had fresh sushi, and the Mexican fair was good but not exceptional. The cookies, on the other hand, wow. Get them they are delicious! Amigos was a central spot. It seemed to be where we went for all the special events and the complimentary breakfast for the tour. The free breakfast during the tour was much better than another resort we attended; at least the food was hot and plentiful, which is more than I could say for another property. The breakfast that we ordered from the menu was truly unique. I loved the pancakes. They were perfectly made and delicious. My wife had the all-American, which was her go-to for each day of breakfast. My son had an all-American as well, and they took special care to ensure his food was safe to eat given his dairy allergy. The OCR was the place where we had lunch on the first day. This was my least favorite establishment to eat. I think the menu was minimal on the first lunch day and poorly prepared. The sports bar was another favorite. I appreciated the free popcorn and the food. It really was well done despite the numerous flies that seem to be present, but that could be a seasonal thing and certainly not a reflection on the Diamante. The Woods restaurant was genuinely impressive and befitting the title of Crown Jewel of the resort--a five-star experience with handcrafted cocktails, perfectly aged, and hand-cut steaks that were perfectly cooked. I had the New York strip Australian Wagyu A7, Carrots, and mashed potatoes. They were fantastic. The Key lime pie was a perfect compliment to a fantastic meal. My sister had sushi that was expertly sliced and made my son enjoy and off the menu pasta with shrimp. My wife had pork chops. This is a must-visit. Getting around The shuttle service to the Diamonte is adequate. They run with some consistency and are pretty on time, which I appreciate it. The only thing I wish I knew was how to tell which shuttle was going to what location. A few times, I got confused and had to ask where the shuttle was ultimately going, only to find out that my desired location would be at the next shuttle. The room Depending on your room, it will vary, but I can say for the OCR. Our room was insane. It was so spacious and one that I will never forget. The housekeeping staff was so thorough. They cleaned our room daily and ensured we had fresh towels, empty trash, and clean countertops. The pools were nice. The lagoon was so impressive to see. It is the largest lagoon in Mexico and is perfect for the resort. Where other places may have a little bit of usable beach, the lagoon makes up forward in the size, scope, and scale of activities. From paddle boarding to paddle boats and kayaks, there is something for everyone in the lagoon. The kids club was there also; although many of the activities were a bit subpar and were not as robust as other places, they at least had a space dedicated to kids and planned activities. Lastly, the golf villa is breathtaking. It is probably one of the best luxury villas I've ever seen, with high-end appliances, infinity pools, a personal hot tub, a center courtyard, ample space in the closet, and around the entire villa truly one of the best I've ever seen. If you are looking for a high-quality Experience, there's no better place than the Diamonte. The golf, while I did not play, is fantastic, with three courses on the property, which other resorts cannot beat. read more

We bought timeshares when the property opened. Many years later....what Diamante promised us is nothing but a dream. A nightmare. I will be canceling our memberships after this week. We are so disappointed as we were looking to bring our children and grandchildren on vacation to bond. The mold in the rooms are visual and palpable. We did not get our fixed week at the beach estates for reasons that were not specified or written on our contract. We instead got a week was not what I paid for, and during that week we had hurricane and the entire house flooded, roof caved in, no lights, no wifi,no internet so they gave us one of there new penthouse that was just recently build. Kitchen cabinets wood all peeling off, ceiling fan $25 from i think home depot, bedrooms small as holiday in, size of the penthouse smaller then the original one that was build, plastic plants. The food was the worst, my hamburger soggy burned, cheese was burned to a crisp and the bun totally burned, the French fries had a lb of salt. It is ashamed that I have been coming here for the past ten years and this place went to he'll For those who do not know the laws like me since I have my company in Mexico there is consumer protection for claims that have breach of contract. We went in w a group of friends on a timeshare here for an annual golf trip, but we've also used some weeks to come with family. It's really a beautiful resort with plenty to do for golfers & families. The service is always a 10! The rooms are beautiful, food at the resort or at a golf course, always great. We stay at the Lagoon, but would love to eventually get a place at the Beach Club location (under construction.). We've met plenty of ppl who have invested in the property and it sounds like everyone is happy no matter where they are staying. read more

This review is about the El Cardinale (Tiger Woods course) and The Woods Cabo restaurant. El Cardinale is in average condition and did not have any memorable holes. The caddies were great and the "comfort stations" are a nice touch for the course. However our group of 9 agrees that the course relies on the ocean views to carry a memorable experience and it is not worthwhile to make another trip to this property. We are surprised at the lack of memorable holes when Quivira is down the street. The Woods Cabo has the opportunity to provide a fantastic guest experience. The physical restaurant is very nice but I found the restaurant to provide bland and overpriced food, and overall the value was not there. What is most disappointing is that this restaurant has a captive audience - the guest who are staying on property (golfers and non-golfers) but my experience (and the group's experience) is that this restaurant wanted to gouge it's customers. My prime example is a bottle of still water - our waiter asked if we wanted water or sparkling water. A few of us asked for regular water so we receive our water. At the end of the night, the waiter states that he needs to charge us for a bottle of still water. This isn't an expensive item but it speaks to the customer experience. There is another example that I won't mention here. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was given a captain who offered me to return to the restaurant and i would be given a $10 discount. So, my experience is below average, I am having a conversation with a captain and not talking to a manager, and now be pacified with a potential $10 discount if I spend another $200. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone and I am disappointed to type that because it could have been a memorizable experience. I do not expect to hear from management but I do not want others to have a similar experience. read more

We invested in a property here back in 2017 mainly because of golf. "The Dunes" is ranked 35th in the world (as of 2022). And El Cardonal is a Tiger Woods design course. IF YOU DON'T PLAY GOLF, this place is definitely NOT for you: Our unit comes with 10 rounds of golf. That's 3 rounds each for my 2 boys and my husband. And we convert 1 round of golf to a 1-hr spa/massage for me. Diamante is isolated from the downtown CSL. We rent a car every time we come here as we like to explore Cabo. We're not the type that goes all-inclusive on any given resort. We don't like being stuck in one place. I don't know how much it would cost to get a taxi or Uber. We also never eat in the premises of Diamanté except on the first day when we get a free breakfast before member updates. Expect the meals to be on the pricier side here. We always explore the local restaurants in Cano and we buy our own groceries for breakfast or for easy meals. We have a full-size fridge in the main unit plus a small dorm room size fridge in the connecting studio. We have a full kitchen (plus a tiny kitchen in the studio). So, there's plenty of room for cooking meals and saving leftovers if you choose to do that. This year, we are here for two weeks. We have a total of 14 rounds of golf. This year and the next five years, we won't be able to use El Cardonal because PGA golf will be here November this year and the next 4 more years. We don't mind because The Dunes is the better ranked course and normally, our golf rounds are designated on El Cardonal, not The Dunes. I guess we will take advantage of The Dunes the next 4 years. Service-wise, this is a no-tipping resort. It's their policy. But of course, we always break that policy. It's hard not to tip when just about every person helping us is super nice. Customer service is absolutely top notch. Well.. except for the one lady working at the front desk of the spa. She's not the sharpest pencil on here but I'll give them grace as she's about the only person that disappointed me. At least my massage therapist was good. We will keep coming here until the boys marry and have their families and our grandkids will continue the tradition of bonding in the magnificent golf courses of Diamante (Lord-willing). By the way, there's one more golf course that Tiger Woods is currently working on within Diamante. It's called the Legacy. We look forward to seeing its completion in the next year or so. Who knows, my Jr PGA boys might just end up playing pro in the future! read more

We enjoy staying here very much! Away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Los Cabos, you will find peace and tranquility anywhere you look. I also enjoy the gym and especially Pilates! All of the staff is kind and helpful. You definitely want to get pico, chips and guacamole from the deli at the dunes! All of the restaurants are delicious, and the bartenders are well trained. We will be here again, and again and again. The only downside is the expensive taxi to go downtown for a little something different but small price to pay for some relaxation. read more

Golf enthusiasts will get the most from this resort. Diamante is a community in the early stages of development. Ownership and timeshare properties are the business model. Visiting guests are expected to participate in a high pressure sales presentation. People soft skills need work. When you lose interest to purchase, sales staff disrespects you through a polite smile and ignore of your presence in the room. That said, in exchange for your time, the sales office issues a $300 voucher good for dining and other purchases at the resort. As previously mentioned, this property is in the early stages of development. The finished resort promises to be a self contained community - which is nice because the local Walmart is 20 minutes drive and Cabo is more than 30 minutes drive for nearest groceries and supplies. There are no swimming beaches on the property because of high risk hazard. Do your swimming at the resort lagoon complex. Had a good stay here, but I would like to return in five years to compare this experience with a future, another experience. read more

So sad to write a two star review for Diamante. We bought our bungalows on the Lagoon, pre-construction and have been enjoying our four weeks, Christmas, New Year's, weeks 1&2. We continue to enjoy Diamante for golf and host many of our friends. Unfortunately, Diamante has taken a turn from a world class golf destination, to a Cabo corridor Three Star resort under the new direction of Tafer Resorts. Our first indication was the landscaping which is not being maintained. Ken Joway, understandably, does not want to be in the Time Share business. His interest is real estate and The Legacy golf. Tafer, who has taken over the resort aspect of Diamante, is selling "points" while working towards an all-inclusive "wrist band" property. Not the 5-Star Golf Resort Diamante started out to be. The golf is still under Jowdy, however, The Dunes and El Cardonal, at the conclusion of the PGA Tour World Wide Technoligies Tournament, "could" become the property of Tafer. The tournament at that time, will move to the Legacy Course. The real losers from the Jowdy/Tafer arrangement are the employees. Tafer, pays its employees far less than what Jowdy was paying. At the time of the takeover of resort operations (Jowdy is still in charge of golf-for now) all the employees had to be terminated by Jowdy and re-hired by Tafer. We were told by one maintenance employee that he was being paid 11,000 pesos every two weeks with Jowdy and now as a "new hire" at Tafer is being paid 6,000 pesos every two weeks. There are highlights; The Woods restaurant is terrific, Sports Bar, notwithstanding the price increases, is still a go to. El Cardonal Golf Course is in good shape, not so with the Dunes at this time. Hopefully, when we return next December, the grounds will have improved. Also, hoping for better employee morale, which can come from fair wages from Tafer. After all, our fees never go down. Diamante is a Jewel, time will tell if Tafer tarnishes it. LW read more

While the vibe is cool - service is good - the prices for what you get are ridiculous, We paid $36 for a 6 oz glass of mediocre Cabernet which I could have sucked up for a 9 oz - keep in mind in the US this bottle is $25 max. Longtime owners of fractional share just returned from Diamante and "experienced" new ownership Tafer for first time. Resort went from a 5 Star to a 1 Star resort. Tafer bought the Diamante name and have changed the whole culture and experience. Room was dirty with fruit flies and roaches. Outlets didn't work when checked into room. Should have been in a room at OCR with a sunset view of the Pasific (which is what we paid for) given room with view of fence blocking construction area that hasn't been touched in more than 14 months. Food was awful and obviously cutting corners and costs. Staff now are paid far less than in the past and Tafer has made the resort a full tipping resort looking for guests to make up the difference in the staff's salary through tips. NOT WHAT WE BOUGHT INTO. Ken Jowdy took our money built his resort sold it and screwed the "owners" and took his and our equity. Pretty shady. And Tafer is absolutely horrible and have destroyed the place. PGA and Tiger should reconsider holding the tournament at the resort next November. read more

This review is for the (Tiger) Woods restaurant. Overall, a 1-star experience with 1 star added for the nice staff. We walked in and were greeted warmly. There were many staff members lining our route as we walked to the table and they each said hello. It was strange... like we were a royal party reviewing the troops. The raw steaks and other meat were on display in a refrigerator case. The atmosphere was attempting elegant. The decor was 21st century hard surfaces with about 100 TVs lining the upper walls. The TVs were the ruination of an intimate venue. The TV in our curtained nook was playing cage fighting or boxing (not sure what they call it). Our party was well, shocked at the multitude of screens disturbing a very high end restaurant. In my opinion, they were horrible and hurt my eyes. We already have enough screens in our lives! Now for the action.... We were a party of 8. The table was so wide and the restaurant so loud that we had to shout at each other to have conversation. It was almost hilarious. Again, the royal facade but functionally clumsy. We were offered "still or sparkling" water. I do not drink alcohol so I said sparkling. I was poured 1/2 of a tiny tumbler glass of water. Everyone else had "still" water which also came out of a bottle. The was the first of many, many expensive and low value moments this evening. The water was 219 pesos or $11.80 and all I got was 1/2 glass! When I had to flag them down for more water, they didn't have the sparkling bottle and I said water is water. Wow was I wrong. We spent $55.00 on water for our table. The cocktails were served in half-full martini glasses and cost $18. My hub had 4 martini's and my alcohol detector brain did not activate. The wine person came and took the order for half our table. She didn't realize that others may want to order wine. We had to get her back to take a wine order for our side of the table. When the wine came, it had turned (vinegar). The wine person said she doesn't normally do this, but she replaced it with another wine which was not much better according my friends. Next, the bread. It was delicious and comes with a dip. No butter is included so we asked for it. The octopus was good. The entrees were between $65 and $395 dollars. Haha. I can't believe it. The ribeye was such bad quality that my friends asked me to discuss it with the waiter because I speak Spanish. When I told him it was bad he sent over a manager. The manager nodded and listened but did NOTHING. He didn't offer to take it off the bill, nor did he offer a free dessert, nor did he give a darn at all. When the bill came, my friends decided to let it go and call it experience. They paid around $100 for one poor quality steak. The creamed spinach was some cooked spinach with cream poured over it. My gourmet friend was laughing. Creamed spinach is an incredible dish with bits of garlic and onion in a cream sauce - - in other places! Not here at Tiger's, it was very expensive steamed spinach. We had Caesar salad and the papadelle short rib dish. The salad was good but not enough dressing. The pasta was stuck together in clumps and covered in a small amount of red sauce and tiny bits of short rib... Not one full bite of meat. For $70, it was not good. Again poor value. The servers were plentiful but untrained. That was no problem. They were all so nice and trying to please. They probably thought we were a bunch of dumb tourist people who overspent in this ridiculous restaurant. If that's what they thought, they were right. Luckily, we haven't bought into the cult of Diamante and we won't be coming back. read more

We were referred to Diamante Resorts by Luis Lujan. He was very personable & energetic. Vivian was the young lady who lead our tour; she is adorable & bubbly. Diamante is known for their golfing & their lagoon for fun activities. At the Lagoon you can find paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing and peddle boats. The food at the kitchen was good; I recommend the dirty monkey drink. Even tho we did not become members; we enjoyed the facility all day. It was a great time. read more

This place is top notch. If you're a golfer or not this place really has something for everyone. The grounds are great for leisurely walks, running, strollers, etc. It's relaxing and the service is impeccable. We really enjoy some of the extra things they provide like the turtle release and the attention to the kids activities. The little things always make for a fun relaxing time. The food is great and if you really need a change from the delicious options on the resort you can go to Nobu or any other place just as easy. They are even accommodating for the extra things that kids may need with meal changes etc. We also love that it never feels to crowded and the staff is always helpful and friendly. Do not fall for the airport timeshare scam. Our friends were approached with the promise of $100 for 7 people to their lagoon and breakfast and free drinks upon the arrival at the airport. Obviously this was too good to be true. They specifically said no presentation and were lied to by the "agent" at the airport. We lost 1/2 day of our Cabo vacation time to BS promises. Fortunately we spoke up immediately upon arrival and they did return our money but you can't return our time wasted. If it's too good to be true it's not true, please avoid. read more

Horrible Resort since Tafer Resorts bought it. You should know that we meet other owners while down there recently and they all say the same thing. Nothing is as they promised. Member update my ***. They corner you when you arrive with a we have a member update but it is nothing but a high pressure sales pitch which contains nothing but LIES! We meet one owner who has been waiting 8/yrs to have their building built at the Lagoon. Hard to believe that our unit will be built by Sept 2026 when the back of the one and only OCR building built is still left unfinished. You call to reserve a room from the back end of your contract to be told we have zero availability. When we went the resort was empty but still hear NO availability. Even thought about upgrading with Tafer but when we started asking questions and requesting answers in writing you hear "we need time to figure this out". You should know it was 3 days and they kept giving zero answers trying to have us "wait out" the 5 day period. Sorry to tell you we are not that stupid!!! Stay away from Amy Wills and Paul Windham in the sales office they are horrible, they can't keep from telling lies when asked relevant questions. Horrible way to run a resort!!!!! read more

The sales department is unethical, deceitful and will do and say anything to make a sale. We have experienced this first hand when we upgraded to a bigger unit. DO NOT fall into their trap like we did!!! I would never recommend this place as a place to buy to any of our family or friends!!!!!! They LOST me within the first five minutes of when they were rude to us about why one of us had a Hawaii ID and the other had a Mainland ID. If you are trying to sell luxury property, why would you be rude to someone who lives 6 months in Hawaii and 6 months Mainland? The few units they showed us were "pretty" but the roads where trash, there was broken down fences and areas of extreme disrepair. The huge sell point was the lagoon and the golf course. Seemed more like an isolated desert prison with marble floors. Highlight was the actual tour guide was fun and charismatic but trying not I sell a trash property after his bosses already fumbled the ball. read more

I'm sure this place is beautiful BUT the way they treat guests is disgusting. Sure, my parents and I stopped by for the presentation, so we were not paying guests, but how do you expect people to pay and buy your product if you can't provide respectful customer service? While checking in, my parents spoke to the rep but told the rep they wanted me to speak for them. We were waiting to go to breakfast, my parents and I were speaking in our mother tongue because our rep left. Another guy came and asked if my parents spoke English...we said yes... they asked how long they've lived at the address on their address...(to determine their years in America I'm guessing). Then another guy "the big boss" came to ask if my mom was a fan of the sports team on her shirt. My dad said no, she doesn't know anything about it, it's just a shirt. I, in turn, asked the guy if he was a fan, and he just said okay and walked away. (In my opinion he would be the one that didn't even try). Next thing you know we were picked up by the promoter that took us there... asking us what happened, they said we didn't speak English... They assumed everything without really trying to understand anything and drew to their own conclusions. That's not the part that is maddening. The worst part is that they DIDN'T EVEN COME EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED AND JUST SENT US OUT. So rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. First person told us we were about to head to breakfast and ultimately our promoter walked in to pick us up. Absolutely disgusting. We spent our vacation time getting there. Wasted time on transportation, all that waiting and questioning... gave them all our information and didn't get anything we were promised. That's not the big issue but the DISRESPECT. read more

I really enjoy vacationing here because it's beautiful and service is good. The resort is still under construction so expect some noise and lots of dust for the next few years. One big down side is you get hit with a 16% sales tax PLUS an 18% service tax on all food and services. Then in the end they leave you an envelope asking for a tip. Really? It's advertised a no tipping resort. So mixed signals with adding on your tip and then asking for more. read more

Excellent experience, we are a family of 5..2 adults 3 kids (9,11,13) We stayed in bungalow 1 which has 4 separate bedrooms and 1 main kitchen great room. It has a private hot tub and sits right in the lagoon. Excellent Customer Service especially when my wife fell ill to suspected gallbladder issue. The chief of security and medical on site is John Behnke (us) and picked us up onsite and took us to BlueNet Hospital in downtown Cabo. OUTSTANDING HOSPITAL WITH US TRAINED DOCS. As a old medic, I'm very picky but these folks exceeded my expectation. Plenty to do onsite and in town. Great for kids and the golf is outstanding. If you have kids that like golf please go out to the Oasis course. AMAZING The only thing I would say was a little disappointing was the quality of the facility. It's a little worn down and beaten up for a 5 star facility. We normally stay in the Esperanza which is phenomenal and the location is perfect in terms of the ocean calmness. That facility is truly a 5 star resort all the way around. (See my photos) Gas fire ring was broken, and anti-algae machine outside our room beeps incessantly. I went there to listen to their sales pitch. My reward was supposed to be golf. After their inability to sell me on their property they told me I was not going to be able to play, that the deal was off. They said they had no obligation to me at all. Very sad because at a later date I might have been interested. Don't waste your time. read more

Aside from the land-locked resort which has no pulse, the employees especially ALL those I have dealt with in the Time Share sales and accounting departments are beyond corrupt, ignorant or just rude. I haven't figured out which word best describes them but I am leaning to all three. If you go for a time share presentation, you are going to be lied to over and over again. Stay away from Diamante and stay away from anything related to Diamante Time Share sales. I wish I would have been warned before going to this over-priced, corrupt, construction site in the desert. read more

Great golf destination! Security at the club is very strict & covid protocols are In place, including taking temperatures before entering & leaving the property. Grounds are gorgeous. Golf was fantastic, the dunes course is gorgeous & challenging. So many great views of the pacific & the whales swimming north to Alaska. Caddies were all great & super knowledgeable. All of our caddies had been with Diamanté for 5+ years. Food on property is good, service is great. Valet parking at all locations. 24 hour market with great quick food options. I was a little disappointed at the lack of inventory in the El cardonal pro shop. It looked like a Nike town which was cool but they only had a couple different hats & shirts. We stayed in a casita for 10 days. The home was great; housekeeping came whenever requested. We rented a golf cart thru a 3rd party vendor which was great to have to get around the property. The lagoon was so pretty but a little cold to swim in during February. The swim up bar & hot tub at the lagoon were much more our speed. Lastly getting the covid tests to come back to the US was simple & took less than 30 seconds. Results same day! Highly recommend! read more

Complete scam. Do not waste your time or money here. We purchased an activity package with 3 activities and they decided to only let us use 2 of them. They also treated us like second class citizens and expected us to then buy a timeshare from them. Complete waste of time and money. read more
