A sauceless cheese pizza. (and, umm, we didn't order it without sauce.)
    Rick L.

Santa Clarita is a burgeoning pizza town...we're not there yet...our Neapolitan options are good, but available NYC style slices are hard to come by up here which leads you to the vast amount of "regular" pizza we have up here. It does the job. It's fine. So finding a decent place to get just a regular pie with a decent enough mix of sauce and cheese, with a crust that's at least not embarrassing, is just about the best we can hope for. With that in mind we tried Di Marco's Newhall...most pizza places don't put enough sauce on their pies so we ordered a cheese pie and selected extra sauce. What we got was a cheese pie with no sauce at all. Literally zero sauce. Crust and bread. People make mistakes, we get it, and we got some of our money back, but this was our first time trying Di Marco's...no sauce at all is literally the opposite of "extra sauce." There are puh-lenty of "regular" pizza places up here...if we're going to get a basic pie that's not going to wow us...at least the order could be correct and not missing one of the three essential ingredients of a cheese pizza. Bottom of the list Di Marco's...on to the next place.

    Combination Special Pizza
    Rubi S.

The pizza was delicious and I liked that they put the toppings all the way up to the crust. We got the combo and loved all the mean and veg toppings. The dough was just right and not too thick or thin. We had our pizza delivered and the reason I have it a 4 star is that when the pizza was delivered, my husband was out front so he went to accept it from the driver and the pizza wasn't even in an insulated bag to keep the pizza hot so by the time we sat down to eat it, it was lukewarm and not that hot anymore. Other than that, pizza was delicious but we will most likely pick it up the next time.

    Crappy bowling alley quality pizza

Holy Christ, has this place declined. I know we're talking about an Italian pizza restaurant, but one of you'se over there tell me how you'se have the balls to call your "Buffalo wings" edible? Wings are the bottom barrel benchmark of a pizza place's quality. Theirs are clearly frozen and undercooked in a single precut sheet of aluminum foil, while still managing to mangle what little chicken meat hasn't been seared onto the foil. Did rats get to the chicken before you threw sauce on it and broiled it for 5 minutes as an afterthought to your now cafeteria-quality pizzas? Did you change owners after the pandemic? And to think this is the "better" of your 2 locations! I wouldn't feed these wings to an enemy! WTF, yo?! Fugazis! Fuggeddabowdit! Ay! Oh! Ah! [Paulie Walnuts dismissive backhand of rebuke] TLDR?: The captions say: "Crappy gas station quality wings" and "Crappy bowling alley quality pizza".

Ordered Pasta on March 4th @8pm before 12 midnight i had threw it up all over the floor of my big rig WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY!!!! i almost died trying to pull over while violent vomits are forcing its way up my throat and out of my mouth!!! yes the food was good, but not on the expense of attempted murder!! that is NOT COOL AT ALL!!! someone call the Health Department.

    Medium Mushroom Pizza to-go $12.50 (4/5)
    Tiffany C.

Ordered takeout for the first time here. When I came in the employee was very nice and had all my food ready on time. The placed looked clean and organized. Now on to the food. Ordered a medium Mushroom Pizza for $12.50. The pizza was pretty good and of decent size. I also thought the price was very reasonable. Would order pizza from here again. The Eggplant Sandwich however, left a lot to be desired. It could just be me but I like a hot Eggplant Sandwich to be dripping with sauce, gooey cheese, with thick slices of eggplant shoved in. However my dry sandwich had incredibly thin slices of eggplant in it. Almost non existent. Now if you're not a fan of eggplant than hey this sandwich would work for you. But since I ordered an Eggplant Sandwich to begin with ... yeah I'm a fan of eggplant and was therefore disappointed in this particular sandwich. Pizza yes, sandwich no.

Meatball Calzone: mostly bread. Ends and the outer edges were all bread. Filling was only in the inner portion.

Service: very casual, but it was pleasant. They're not there the entire time. You ring a bell if you need anything at the cash register. The employees were just in the back socializing between orders, BUT anytime you did interact with anyone, they had a smile on their face and brought things that you would need quickly. Location: it was clean. Things were a little sticky/greasy, but still looked clean. Bathrooms were okay, not dirty... but not sparkling clean. Food: -ALL MEAT PIZZA: best thing we ordered, but it looked more wimpy than what is shown in the picture. But the crust was okay and the toppings were good, not great. -CHICKEN ALFREDO WITH PENNE: I did like that it was underseasoned. That's a personal preference and I can see where people would complain it's not flavorful. BUT I would rather add salt than it be overly salty and everyone is dying of thirst later. A decent amount of chicken and a pretty large serving size. The garlic bread that came with it was crispy, but it was one of those airy French breads. -MEATBALL CALZONE: I was really disappointed with this one. It wasa decent size but it was mainly all bread, with only the filling in the inner middle. Traditionally, there's usually no sauce inside, but if it's listed on the ingredients list, I do expect a little bit more than the tiny sprinkle that was in it. The meatballs were okay. Maybe five small sized meatballs in the half we ate. Two small ball pieces in the half we ate. A decent amount of ricotta and mozzarella. Overall, I would say, stick with the pizza and pasta here, but there are places that are more flavorful than this one. It could've been an off day, so we might give it another try, especially because the kiddos did enjoy the pasta, but it won't be the first place we jump to for pizza.

At the time it felt like a…read morewelcome clone of Piccola Trattoria dropped into the most suburban location imaginable, a strip mall across from Del Taco and a grocery store. It was good news for those of us in the neighborhood who wanted something better than chain Italian without driving across town. Four-plus years later, the real test is simple: do you keep coming back? We do. Regularly. That says more than any early review ever could. Piccola Osteria has quietly become our neighborhood standby. It's the place we go when cooking feels like a chore but we still want a proper meal, not takeout that tastes like it came from a food factory. Over the years we've worked our way through most of the menu, often more than once, and the consistency is what keeps us returning. The appetizers remain strong. The polpette are exactly what they should be: simple, flavorful meatballs in a good marinara. The carpaccio is fresh and bright with arugula and lemon. Prosciutto with burrata is hard to mess up if the ingredients are good, and here they usually are. The arancini with braised short rib are still one of the better starters on the menu. The pastas continue to carry the kitchen. The gnocchi Sorrentina are reliably soft and comforting. The fettuccine Bolognese tastes like a sauce that has had time to develop. The tortelloni di brasato and the pumpkin tortelloni are richer options that never disappoint. And when we're in a seafood mood, the linguine vongole or spaghetti pescatora usually hit the mark. The secondi are solid as well. The osso buco is consistently good, and the branzino is fresh and often filleted tableside, which still feels like a small luxury in a neighborhood restaurant. Service has also held up well. In all the years we've been coming here, we've only had one off night where the service felt disorganized. Otherwise it's been friendly and attentive. Another subtle but encouraging sign: some of the staff speak Italian, and you can actually exchange a few words in Italian if you're inclined. That's usually a decent signal you're not in a completely Americanized version of the cuisine. The menu still leans broadly "Italian" rather than regional Italian. There are a couple of concessions to American expectations, like spaghetti and meatballs or a Caesar salad, neither of which you'd typically see in Italy. But restaurants in suburban California have to meet their customers where they are, and those dishes clearly keep the tables full. If I still had a wish list after all these years, it would be the same gentle nudge: it would be great to see the kitchen rotate in a few seasonal or regional additions. Something like pici with wild boar ragù, trofie with pesto, or a few rustic polenta dishes would be fantastic. Italian cuisine has endless regional depth, and even a few rotating specials would add another dimension. The wine list remains reasonably priced, which is refreshing. Markups aren't outrageous, and the cocktails are well made. The White Negroni in particular is worth ordering. At the end of the day, Piccola Osteria has proven something more valuable than novelty: reliability. In a neighborhood where most dining options lean toward chains and fast casual, having a small place that consistently delivers honest Italian food is something worth appreciating. Not bad for a little osteria hiding in a strip mall across from Del Taco. Sometimes the most dependable neighborhood restaurants are the ones you almost overlook.

A great Italian spot!…read more Despite a busy night, the service was warm and welcoming. Our main server was great, but it's always a great sign when other servers come to check in on you too. The space is quite large, but a bit cramped. We were seated in a a patio-like space towards the back of the restaurant. We ordered the calamari, Mezzelune di Crostacei, and Tortelloni di Brasato. The calamari is highly recommended. It was fresh, lightly fried, and paired well with the sauce. The Mezzelune di Crostecei was amazing. The ravioli was perfectly cooked and the juices from the shrimp and scallop made it a perfect bite. The only disappointment was the Tortelloni di Brasato. The herb cream sauce was delicious and the pasta was perfectly cooked. However, the short rib filling was akin to a beef puree and several of the tortellonis had very little filling. Overall, I had a great experience and looking forward to try other menu items!

The owner, Antonio, told me about his wife and their three daughters, and how they don't have family here, so it's just the five of them - all while he is working hard and building this business. That alone gave me such a soft spot for their family. But on top of that, the amount of love, care, and effort he clearly puts into both the food and the customer experience is incredible. Antonio was so accommodating with my daughter, who is an extremely picky eater. He made her a simple pasta with butter, and she absolutely loved it - which almost never happens. He also recommended the panna cotta because he said little girls always love it, and he was right. Maya was obsessed with it. I found this place on Yelp and dropped by for dinner. My party of 2 was seated immediately. Personally I thought the menus were hard to read. The gray lines in the background were quite dark and clashed with the actual menu items. My suggestion to the restaurant would be to reprint the menus with lighter background. They have an extensive cocktail menu with a lot of gin-based drinks. They also have good selection of wine and NA drinks as well, including some mocktails. I got the I'm Driving mocktail ($13), which I really liked. It had good passion fruit flavor without being too sour. Felt like a really nice tropical juice. My friend really liked his drink Bramblin' Man ($17), which had strong notes of bourbon and blackberry. I wasn't super hungry, but the braised short rib looked amazing so I got that for $43. It was very tender, but I personally found it bland especially on the inside. I asked for additional sauce so I could drench each bite in the sauce. My favorite part of the plate was surprisingly the potato croquette, which was perfectly crispy and well flavored. My friend got the chicken club ($23), which he enjoyed. I stole a bunch of his seasoned fries since they were so good. I would've loved to get dessert but was too stuffed. Next time!

(And maybe not again.) The first time was a lot less busy and we had no problems. This second time was different, unfortunately. It was a Friday night and, being the day before Valentine's day, it was busy. No excuses though....if you are going to offer gluten free options you MUST be able to handle that accurately when it's busy. Our server was WONDERFUL and did exactly what she should have done with all of this. I had many questions about the gluten free options and she was able to answer them, or went back to the kitchen to double check. She did not make me feel like a bother or inconvenient at all. I ordered chicken alfredo with gluten free pasta. When my meal came out, it had fettuccine noodles. I had a twinge in my stomach because this did not seem right, and from last time, I did not remember those being the gf noodles. I asked the guy that brought my meal if this was the gluten free pasta, I think there may have been a language barrier because his accent was thick and his response was, 'is this what you ordered?' I said yes and he walked away. I waited for our server to come before I took a bite by so I could TRIPLE check with her and she noticed IMMEDIATELY the dish was not right. She said, 'oh no! This is not the gluten free pasta. It should be the penne noodles!' She took the dish away. I was interested to find that the correct dish with gf penne noodles came out within 5-7 mins. The only gf pasta that I know of that cooks that quick is fresh gf pasta (8mins). And this pasta you serve is not refrigerated fresh pasta, lol. Was the wrong dish sent to the wrong table by accident? But why did the person that brought my dish not know what he was bringing? There was also very little sauce to be found on the dish. I am not a sauce person so for me to say there was no sauce....it was almost non existent. Now....price. I don't remember the original price of the dish I got, but you up charge SIX?!?!?!?!!! Dollars for the gluten free substitution pasta (most I've seen is $3-4)? And adding chicken is another $8?! My dish came out to be $32. And I will be honest, it was NOT worth that. No manager came out to make sure everything was better. Nothing was taken off the bill for a HUGE mistake, that could have cost me my health or a trip to the hospital. Not happy with this experience. Not happy paying $136 for this experience. Train yourselves with more accuracy please. Thank you.

They have a Korean fusion menu which elevates the flavors. They actually make the spaghetti, fettuccine and pappardelle pasta in house. I won the lotto finding this hidden gem. I also love the concept of creating your own dish with all the great choices they have. Different sauces, proteins, veggies and spice levels. They also have specialty pasta dishes, ravioli and small 8" Roman Artisan Pizzas! How fun! There is something for every one and every age group. The portions are generous. The prices are very reasonable. For my first time I decided to pick a low key pasta dish. Pappardelle with the rose sauce - no add-ons or spices added. I took it to go and it traveled well. It comes with a seasoned slice of toast. I was very impressed with the taste of the sauce and the quality of the pasta. Next time I'm going to try the creamy truffle mushroom pasta. I was welcomed by a very nice young gentleman with a big smile and he was very helpful. I wish I asked for his name. The woman at the front was also very sweet and friendly. The restaurant has ample seating, very clean and spacious. Casual feel. I literally can't wait to bring my husband and son back up here to have them try it out. Highly recommend giving them a try! WOW is right!
