This is a very marginal looking structure outside of Fayetteville downtown with not much else around. I came in search of the cuisine of Trinidad and Tobago, a distinctive mix of Caribbean and Indian flavors. It was a pure takeout with not much to offer inside and it was a reasonably nice day. I ordered a veggie combo, not being entirely clear on what it would amount to. I ended up with a whole lot of rice and a couple of premade dishes, one with chickpeas, and one with potatoes. I was not impressed with his combination and would have preferred more variety and more vegetables which are common to the cuisine. I didn't want to order anything additional because that was already a ton of carbs. The flavors, including a house, hot sauce, were distinctive. If I came back, I would place a more customized order as they did have a wide variety of vegetarian/vegan options. Greeted with a wonderful server. Knowledgeable on every dish and gave recommendations with samples! I tried the doubles first. A vegetarian dish I would have never tried, and it was so tasty! I would definitely order again. Also ordered the stewed chicken and oxtail plates. Both were really good. The cabbage could have been cooked just a little more, it a bit too crunchy for me. I also wish the plantains were sweeter. We got the passion fruit juice, must try! I did dilute mine a little with water. Also got the soursop juice which was great! This is the best food I've ever had. The oxtail is amazing and everyone there is so kind and accommodating with vegetarian/vegan options. My boyfriend and I drove four hours and just decided to stop here because I saw oxtail on the menu. He ended up getting a specialty vegan plate since it was our first time there and when we were eating we both said what we had gotten was the best thing we've ever eaten. They were telling us how they recently moved from their original location in North Carolina but they're definitely worth following if you're in the area. Thanks so much for the food. This outer exterior is like biting into a cloud of pillowy heaven & it's stuffed with chickpeas and all of the seasonings people fought wars for & forgot how to use. Bus-Up Shut is great and wrapped perfect when delivered! Yes freshly made from Fayetteville's Caribbean restaurant Dhan's Kitchen. No, it wasn't greasy that it tore up the bag, but just right to sop all that Jerk sauce!! The plantains were not dessert sweet, it was perfect picked to pair with the Jerk. I will definitely purchase some drinks when I am by Dahn's Kitchen for sure since it's home grade. Definitely grateful to have some spice near by so I can get the Caribbean feeling for my taste buds! I found this restaurant while browsing for some Caribbean food. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall and had ample parking. First of all the hospitality of the couple who own this joint was absolutely amazing. It almost felt like I stopped by one of my relative's house for dinner. These guys are an absolute hidden gem in Fayettenam. They are extremely generous with portions and allowing you to try samples. I've never been a big fan of Jamaican/islands cuisine but the food here is absolutely delicious. The curry chicken, chana, and Mac bake were all a 10/10. They also have delicious homemade drinks. I got hooked on Trinidadian food during several business trips to Port of Spain. I've been wanting to go to Dhan's in Fayetteville but we rarely get down there. We were thrilled that their truck came to Raleigh. We ordered chicken roti, jerk chicken, and plenty of doubles. The two chicken dishes and their sides were fantastic but doubles are my main addiction and theirs were outstanding! Full disclosure, I've never had jerk chicken before, but it's something I've always wanted to try. The owners are incredibly nice, and takeout was super quick! The curry was super tasty and not too spicy, and the jerk chicken was perfectly smoky, sweet, and spicy all at once. Each combo comes with steamed veggies, and even those were delicious.
