After years of shuttling our dogs to our parents every time we want to travel, my husband and I finally decided that it's time to find a local dog and house sitter. I reached out to Dusty through Yelp and received a very prompt response for availability and to set up a meet and greet. She also provided thorough background checks, proof of insurance, and references (who gave excellent reviews). Her care and thoroughness is very evident. We connected right away during the meet and greet, and my husband and I both felt like we could trust her with our dogs and our home. I provided an extensive list of notes, and she followed them to a T. During our weekend trip, Dusty checked in frequently with updates and photos. I never had to wonder if the dogs were doing okay. Not only did Dusty really care about our dogs' well-being, she also cares about our peace of mind and puts in a lot of effort to relieve our anxieties. I was especially anxious about one of our dog's leash reactivity, and Dusty did a fantastic job managing her surroundings during walks and making sure that they were both safe. Upon our return, the house was in great shape. My only "complaint" is that the dogs didn't seem to miss us at all since they were so busy having fun with Dusty! I got to know Dusty more, and she's an honest, lovely, and creative soul. We plan on being her clients for many years to come.

If you're looking for someone with a genuine love of and connection to cats, who is very experienced with cat behavior and health issues, and who is supremely trustworthy and reliable - look no further than Drew. Before I met Drew I spent so much time on Yelp contacting other pet sitters in the area and they all seemed like they were mostly dog-oriented and just tolerated cats and would be only dropping by to make sure my cats were alive. Then I contacted Drew and I knew right away she was special - she actually adores cats and her primary concern is getting to know your cats' individual needs and quirks and providing the best comprehensive care possible while putting your mind at ease with daily checks-ins and photos. (She also owns a photography business and you can hire her for an epic pet photo session!) Drew regularly takes care of my guys, whether I'm busy for one day or away for a longer trip. Under anyone else's care, I'd worry about their individual dietary and behavioral needs - I have a picky older cat with anxiety and urinary issues, a goofy black cat with a sensitive tummy and a history of eating inedible objects and getting the occasional ear infection, and a young, spunky one-eyed cat who once had an injured leg. Not only has Drew gotten to know each of their personalities and connected with them like they're her own pets (they greet her at the door), she has expertly attended to their occasional extra needs and has on multiple occasions taken the time to talk me through my concerns about their issues. In addition to being a cat owner herself, Drew has experience working at clinics and rescues and volunteers her time at a cat sanctuary so I thoroughly trust her input and consider her a valued care companion and part of our pet family. My cats (and I) absolutely adore Drew and there's just no better feeling when you're away than total peace of mind that your fur family is receiving the best possible care. 5 stars, 10/10. Thank you, Drew!

My main concern was our dogs not being comfortable with the rotation of different pet sitters, so I expressed that concern with Janet and figured out a plan to prepare our dogs. We ended up booking walks for our dogs to meet with the different sitters they may encounter during our vacation. Each walker/sitter we met was equally friendly and our three German shepherds had no issue with either one of them. We received reports after each visit, which we appreciated. What I do appreciate most about Lucky Buddy Petcare is that we're not dependent on one person's schedule while planning. The booking process is super easy through their website. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a pet sitting company!

I am grateful to have found Janet and her team to walk and stay overnight with my smart, loving and rambunctious Aussie, Jake. Jake loved his walks and especially enjoyed his time with Janet and Kathleen when they stayed with him when I went on my first trip in years because I would not board him. I told my friends I thought he was two-timing me because he was so happy and relaxed when I arrived home. I also had a dog walker come every day at Janet's suggestion while I was away and I truly appreciate the time and care these young women gave to Jake during that time and his regular walks. Sadly, Jake is no longer with me. He was only six years old but he had a medical condition that was lurking, unknown and undiagnosed until it suddenly appeared shattering my world. My first call was to my friend, a retired vet, who told me the likely diagnoses. My second call was to Janet who told me where the best ER animal hospital was located and provided additional emotional support. Janet continued to reach out and check to see if I was alright after I had to make a pet owner's most dreaded decision. She is not kidding in her business info when she says she will be there for you.

Before that, my husband and I worked different schedules so we never needed a dog walker. We both took about a year off after moving before heading back into full-time work. When we decided to go back to work and realized we would have the same schedule, we knew we had to find someone to walk our dog Mon-Fri. I called several people, asked a lot of questions and met a few of them. Lori was very patient with all my questions and our dog absolutely loved her. It was important to us to find the right person because our dog started having separation anxiety after our move. She was tearing up her crate, which made us very nervous to leave her. We felt like we were tied to the house all the time and even mounted a camera in the living room so we could check on her when we were out! (We've since retrained her to like her crate again.) Lori started walking our dog once a week and moved to 5 days once my husband and I were both working. During the first few weeks of my new job I continued to check our camera to see how our dog was doing while we were gone. And I have to admit that I did check a few times to see how long Lori was out with our dog. I feel weird about that now, but we didn't know Lori so well yet and she totally could have said she was walking our dog for 45 minutes and only go for 20, and we wouldn't have known. But she never cuts the time short. She always has our dog out for as long as she was scheduled for. Over the past year Lori has been a HUGE asset to our family. I don't believe she's ever cancelled a walk, so she is extremely reliable. She feeds our cats their lunch every day when she comes to take our dog out. When we go on vacation, she boards our dog and visits our cats. She even gave one of our cats medication when he needed it. Lori often sends heart-warming photos of our dog while she's out with her. She keeps our dog safe and comfortable by playing with her inside when the weather is extreme. And I know our dog adores Lori because when I'm home sick I get to see how excited she is when Lori arrives. We rely on Lori so much that I honestly don't know what we would do if we ever lost her. P.S. For those of you who haven't checked out her website yet and are wondering how much she charges... she's very affordable. We do $15 for 45 minutes. I've seen some walkers charge $25 for a 30 minute walk! We are by no means well off, so with how often Lori walks our dog, we really appreciate her fair prices!

He's in such high demand that he only walks dogs in Laguna West. He was SO prompt in his reply and professional. He spends a full 30min with your dog during the walk rain or shine, and he charges the lowest rates I've seen with all the dog walkers in the area. He doesn't ask for much because he does it genuinely to help out us humans. He is very prompt with communication, easy to reach via phone and has demonstrated trustworthy qualities from the start. Our meet and greet with Jayce went great and fortunately for us she was available when we needed her (and willing to work on the holiday). We opted for two 30-min visits per day because one of our dogs requires morning and evening medications and Jayce always showed up within the time frames and followed all the instructions for feeding and medication schedules. She kept the water refilled and based on what we could see from our home security cameras, our two dogs seemed to really like her. She sent pictures/updated with every visit. Jayce was also observant of overall home well-being and notified me when there was evidence of someone besides her having been in the house (there was, as my father-in-law had come by to pick something up, and apparently he left the laundry room light on and the laundry room door open). Although we did not intend for it to be a test of her attentiveness, it was great to know that she was in fact paying attention to the home safety and alerting when there was a potential concern. She also took care of some other basic household tasks like pulling our garbage cans in off the street and picking up our mail. The prices are extremely reasonable and she was willing to work on Christmas Day. She even dressed up our pups and sent special Christmas greetings We look forward to booking with E.G. I was in luck as Jacey had an immediate opening and was able to fit Bella into her rather busy schedule. I filled out and signed a couple of forms, provided Bella's veterinarian information and additional emergency contact information. We went over the daily feeding times walking, plant watering and mail pick up schedule. I was extremely impressed at Jacey's attentiveness organization and use of technology. Jacey calendared everything on her personal device and when she met Bella I was relieved to see that they were such a great match. It was comforting to know that my dog would be safe in her own home and well taken care of by a professional dog lover. Overall the pre-appointment took about 30 to 40 minutes. I scheduled Jacey to come by two times each day in the morning and evening and as an added bonus I received daily updates from Jacey on pretty much everything for updates including mini videos as well as lots of pictures. I would recommend EG Barkers to anyone who needs to have their pet taken care of in a loving non-stressful and safe home environment Bella loves LOVES her dog walker, Miss Jaycee. I often approach google reviews with a healthy dose of skepticism, but after researching Jaimie's…read moreapproach to training, and gaining a cursory understanding of his training philosophy, I knew I had found the trainer I was looking for, and took a leap of faith. All I can say is: wow! My dog has never been happier and more well-behaved. Ironically, his approach, really, is about training you, the owner, to cultivate the behavior you want to see in your dog. He trains owners to address the root cause of behaviors, which leads to broad, systemic changes through energy-management and LOTS of positive reinforcement. Before finding Jaimie, I was worried I'd have to give my dog up to a sanctuary if I ever lived with another person who owned a dog because my dog's behavior was out of control. I no longer have that fear after training with Jaimie. He is truly a master of his craft, and I have full confidence his training techniques can work on any dog after seeing my dog's behavior transform. I have a 10 year old Shih Tzu that I adopted from the pound at 5 years old. She was constantly getting into trouble: jumping on furniture, marking in the house, pulling trash from trash cans, aggressive with kids and other dogs. I believed the folk wisdom that "you can't teach an old dog new tricks," and Jaimie shattered that myth within the first training session. Jaimie's approach is really quite simple, if you think about it: if you manage your dog's energy, and you set boundaries for your dog, you can create a completely new routine that your dog will adopt through your consistent, clear communication and praising good behavior. Over time, through consistency, you fall into a new routine, one where your dog listens and understands the expectations you've set, and it feels natural. Since beginning training, my Shih Tzu has stopped marking inside the house and outside during walks, stopped begging for food and stealing food from the toddler in my house, pulling trash from the trash cans, stopped barking at every little noise in the house, listens to my commands while walking on a leash, and no longer jumps on furniture. Additionally, she is generally happier, and more affectionate with every human she meets. Next, I'm planning to work with Jaimie on addressing my dog's anxiety with other dogs. All of the work the work you put into training really pays off, and I have full confidence that his techniques and attention to detail will help me guide my dog finally begin to trust other dogs. Trust the process, be patient with yourself and with your dog, remain consistent, and cultivate the behavior you want to see.
