A great liquor store. A nice selection of hard to find items plus your standards. The staff knows their stuff too. I'm telling you, I've walked in with as general a description as possible and have walked out with exactly what I wanted. And if they don't have something, ask and they'll start carrying it. read more

A Humiliating, Heartbreaking Experience with Racial Profiling I am writing this as a student at UW-River Falls to share an encounter that left me feeling deeply humiliated, hurt, and made to feel less than human. What happened to me at DeVine Liquors on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026, between 10:45 AM and 10:55 AM is something no customer or person should ever have to go through. I went into the store, looked around, and left without purchasing anything. I then walked next door to an adjacent shop for other business. Shortly after coming outside, a female cashier wearing a red shirt rushed towards me into the street. In front of people in the area--including a customer in a black pickup truck--she aggressively confronted me, demanding to know what I had taken and insisting I had stolen from the store. The pain and helplessness of being falsely accused in public like that is indescribable. I stood my ground, explicitly told her I hadn't taken anything, and even encouraged her to call the police so my name could be cleared right then and there. She refused. What makes this even more distressing is that during the confrontation, she was wearing an earpiece and communicating with someone (she mentioned it was her daughter) who was actively monitoring the store's security camera feed. If anyone was watching those cameras, they saw clearly that I did not take a single thing. Yet, despite having video evidence proving my innocence, she chose to chase me down and publicly accuse me anyway. When she claimed I "didn't look old enough to be in the store," I willingly walked back inside to present my official ID to prove my age. She refused to even look at it. Later, when I called the store to reach the owner, Mr. DeVine, to share what happened, the same employee refused to give me any direct contact information or way to reach management, leaving me feeling completely shut out, insisting that they're not allowed to give up that information. To be targeted, followed into the street, falsely accused despite clear camera footage, and denied even the basic respect of showing my ID was deeply degrading. It felt like blatant racial profiling. I left feeling utterly stripped of my dignity over something I did not do. I am sharing this online in the hope that ownership takes this seriously, reviews the security footage from that morning, and holds staff accountable. No one in our community should ever be made to feel the embarrassment and sadness I was forced to feel today. read more

Closest booze to home Five stars on River Falls scale Plus one is the norm This review gets my River Falls bump. Is the selection here is as good at Surdyk's? Nope. Are the prices as good as Chicago Lake? Nuh huh. Is it the best liquor store in River Falls? I believe so. Huge selection of wine for a small town joint. Large walk in beer cooler with a great selection of craft beers. It was the only place in town that I could find Bell's Hopslam when it was released for the season last winter. They always have what I am looking for whether it be beer, wine or spirits. While I do contribute a good amount to their coffers, the staff is super friendly every time I am in. Always asking me if they can help me find anything, offering small chit-chat and thanking me for my business. Oh, and they are open until Midnight and on Sundays! In your face, Minnesota! read more

Divine Liquor recently opened here in River Falls in the middle of June 2011. I am thankful to have a liquor store on the Northside of town especially one with such a nice selection of wine, beer, and spirits. I visited Divine Liquor the first day they opened and was happy to see that the owner John there. He was very friendly and welcomed me to the store. He talked about some of their upcoming special and showed me the walk in beer cooler. They have my favorite Vodka and a good selection of wine so I will be back. One other thing that is kind of funny is that this same location use to be my sons daycare center. I actually took them in so they could see how different it was. read more

Love this little liquor store. My husband goes to school in River Falls, and we travel here from Minnesota even when school is not in session (during summer break or J-term). Workers are always really nice and helpful. They have a wonderful craft beer selection and wine selection they even have home brewing supplies which is wonderful. Surprisingly large selection for a somewhat small store. read more

Highly recommended! I go out of my way to visit DeVine because the owners go out of their way to make customers happy. Always willing to help and open to new ideas. They have great prices on beer and liquor and a selection that's the best around (including the Twin Cities on several limited and hard to find spirits). The small, family owned business are under constant pressure by big-money, big-box stores so supporting DeVine is a no brainier. Thanks to John et al for great store! read more

I chose Devine Liquors to provide the alcohol for my wedding. The staff was knowledgable and the prices competitive, but I had a major issue with their customer service. I was told that they would refund up to $500 worth of unused and salable product, which was one of the reasons I chose them. After the event, I left several hundred dollars worth of product in their trailer for them to pick up, expecting to be refunded... I spoke to the owner soon after and he agreed that he owed me money, sent me a picture of the merchandise I had returned, and said he would mail the check to me right away (I don't currently live in the area). Well... I haven't heard from him since. It's been a month since he agreed to mail the check. Now I can't get a hold of him and I have no idea why. I was appalled by the lack of concern for customers. Long story short, if you are ordering for a large event and want to be able to return unused product, shop elsewhere. read more

I approached Devine Liquor to ask to hang up flyers for my daughters benefit and if they would possibly like to give us a donation. the girls behind the counter said oh sure we usually give some sort of wine basket but you will have to speak to the owner. I called a few days later and spoke with the owner who indicated that he had been very busy planning his wedding but that he did see my daughters flyers in a pile of paperwork he wasn't able to get to yet. He specifically told me to call back the next week and he would see what they could put together. When I called it was like he was a totally different person. He started out by yelling at me because he had a wedding to plan that he didn't like that I was expecting anything from him. I never once expected anything from him or from all the other wonderful donators that came forward. All he needed to say was we aren't able to meet your request and that would have been the end of the conversation. It happens. not every place will or can donate to everyones cause I completely understand that. BUT, he continued to yell at me and tell me that my daughters rare brain disease was not his problem and that he didn't care. He went on on about having his own family to take care of, how busy he was preparing for his wedding, and that it was expensive. He then hung up on me. I called him back because I didn't want to leave the situation on bad terms and I just told him that I understood his reasons and that I never had an expectation. He started yelling at me again and then I decided to end the phone call. I will never step foot in this store again. NOT because he was not able to donate, but because of the way he treated me as a human being AND because he simply said he just didn't care. Those are the most stinging words that anyone could hear when they are struggling. A simple no, a kinder voice, and a little caring was all I expected. read more
