A few years ago I hurt my back at the gym, and off and on I would aggravate my back to the point…read morethat I would be near bedridden. I have been to my family doctor and physiotherapists, neither of whom requested any imaging of what was going on with my back structurally. The last time this happened was last summer, and it was by far the worst 'tweak' that happened. I just about crawled into the clinic, and Dr. Mankal understood full well the severity of pain I was in, barely able to move. I WALKED out of that clinic that day a new man. We took some X-rays, he sent me home to ice, then adjusted me a few hours later when the inflammation subsided, and my life was changed. Everything done was factual. He did a thorough assessment and created a plan to get me back to normal. After the first 3 months of treatment, he re-assessed and the proof is in the pudding, that the adjustments were working and my spine was shifted beyond belief back to where it should be than what it looked like previously. I must say that I am a believer in his methods of the adjustments and neuro-structural exercises, especially after the X-rays to find out what the root cause of my pain was and address it. I am pleased with the service, and the environment its done in as well as the cleanliness of the clinic. Best money I ever did spend on myself.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this clinic and the worst interaction with their…read morereception Janice. Janice failed to cancel my appointment that I had requested to cancel and I was charged a no-show fee. When I called the clinic and spoke to Janice again, my concerns were not taken seriously and there was no willingness to review or correct what appeared to be an administrative error and refused to remove the charges. When I asked to speak with a manager or owner to discuss the matter further, Janice told me that I have to pay $150 if I want to talk to the owner. She even wanted more money from me! She even hang up on me and she said she is getting frustrated! She told me she would call me back when she was feeling less frustrated, but she never called me back. So I followed up with a formal email of complaint and to my surprise, Janice even charged me twice! Mistakes can happen in any business, and I understand that. What matters is how those mistakes are addressed. Unfortunately, the lack of accountability, communication, and customer service in this situation left me very very disappointed. Based on my experience, I would not return to this clinic and would not recommend it to others.

I went to visit Dr. Wise at Wellness House this past Monday following a week of debilitating lower…read moreback pain. I waited to go because I live 60km away and I couldn't sit in the car to drive. My husband finally took me. Dr. Wise did an assessment of my situation (he knows my back - I am not new) and said that the muscles were in severe spasm and that he needed to proceed gently. He asked if he could do some deep needle acupuncture and explained how it was different than regular acupuncture. He warned me that it would hurt, but that it was the best option for the circumstances. The treatment didn't hurt nearly as much as the spasms in my back. He also taped my back and showed me a very simple stretch to do at home with a broom handle. I love the way they keep things simple so I don't have to buy additional equipment to do the exercises. He also recommended alternating heat and ice and told me I should expect some relief as the day progressed. By that evening I was feeling a great deal of relief and the spasms were settling. The next day was even better and by Wednesday I no longer needed to take pain relief. It has been 76 hours since my treatment and I am feeling MUCH better. My back is still healing so I am being careful, but I can't thank Wellness House enough for getting me in right away and for the expertise offered to me. I have had terrible experiences at other places in the past, and I refuse to go anywhere but Wellness House even though it's a long drive from home!
