We have stayed at this camp ground quite a few times over the years. It is rustic and basic - its one of the oldest in the Catskills. When you make reservations for this campground - Reserve America is extremely clear on what amenities are available and which amenities are not. Seems like other reviewers didn't care to read about the amenities. There are no showers, no sinks, no flush toilets (but there are vault toilets), no trash cans/ receptacles, no RV hookups.. nada. Its a carry in/ carry out type of facility. When we camp, we expect that we will be roughing it to a degree and this met all of our expectations. OH and no cell service either - just how we like it. Its a campground - not a hotel. The sites are small. This area is widely used as a backpacker stop over during Devil's Path treks. Despite that, we were able to fit our Tacoma with a rooftop tent on it with no issue at all. We had a picnic table and a fairly new looking concrete fire pit with a cooking grating. There was a bear box available. There were plenty of potable water spigots around. I really don't need much else. There is a main road the splits this campground in two and trucks going by can be a little loud which is why this spot gets 4 stars instead of 5. Our most recent trip was in August 2026. The vault toilets are currently being revamped and there are porta-potties on site until the toilets are back in place. The camp host was super sweet and helpful! read more

Mhew! I had never been here before and the restrooms are enough to keep me away from this place in the future. I've camped at places that have out houses and those were cleaner than the restroom facilities at this camping location. By my second night when I went to use the restroom I felt like I was going to vomit before I even finished doing my business. Other than the restrooms being the grossest things you'll encounter the camp sites are relatively small in size with very rocky terrain so if you dare to camp here be sure to bring a tarp and proper sleeping pads otherwise you'll have a restless night. The facilities at this location are very minimal with terrible restrooms, no washing facilities and not even trash bins for garbage so you have to take that home with you. The only thing this place did have were water spigots throughout the campsite that were the most useful amenities this location had which was helpful for cooking and cleaning dishes. If you want to wash your butt cheeks you'll need to drive off to North Lake campsite about 10 miles north east and that camp location is beautiful! Unless you are looking to "rough it" at Devils Tombstone because you are hiking Devils Path I would instead camp at North Lake because it's 100xs better than this camp location. read more
